love this guy. he and Sarah Kay(Kaye?) did poetry at my school when I was in middle or high school, it was AWESOME. been listening to their spoken word here and there ever since. awesome together and solo.

I like how when we get everything done there are still more to do so we never get everything done. But the thought of getting everything done only serves as a motivation to get things that must be done done.

I have an eating disorder and I usually procrastinate eating by getting everything done. Something I like about poetry is that sometimes it reaches people in ways it wasn't made to

We are raised with a really unhealthy mindset of giving your "all or nothing". This mindset led to me essentially shutting down and settling for nothing. But I have learned that it's more like "all or SOMETHING." Starting is the hardest part but just do something. Be kind to yourself & it is okay of certain days, all you can manage is nothing. 💙
