People play fifa now to get packs and hopefully hit something nice untradeable. I started playing fifa in 2015 because the gameplay was fun and consistent, now playing a match feels like a chore so I can pack another bernardo silva or parejo when my rewards come in a couple days.
Yeah, I made a horrible mistake, I spent money on TOTY when i shouldn't have. I saved over 300 packs as well, not 1 TOTY. They have shifted the pack weight to intentionally screw players, fucked the market over and then EA give TOTY Messis to little Timmys who probs got the game at Christmas. I think I am actually done with this I have given the game the benefit of doubt every time but not anymore. Might as well come back for TOTS and Futties when the game gets fun IMO and stop after that. I ain't touching EAFC 25. TOTY has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Clubs is the best concept the game ever had and they dont do nothing with it because it doesnt generate income like ut. Huge redflag. And the fact they dont update and release the same thing year after year when they easily could take the game offline for a day and update for new seasons. It will be their down fall

I always said when untradables were introduced it would be the decline of this game! We need a multi year game, that you actually have to grind to get good cards and your hyped to even get a gold player. The first few weeks should be bronze and silver players.

Crazy to think we had 24 TOTY items, TOTYHM, and 2 icon teams in packs for a week but most of us didnt even get 1 card of those lmao. I luckily opened my picks on the day attackers got released and i managed to get TOTY Smith, and then i got Xavi the next day, but when the whole promo was in packs i got absolutely nothing.
They should’ve put in 90 and 91 ovr dupe exchanges too. Stopping at 89 kinda showed their hand with the expectations that people won’t pull 90s to put into it because of the odds THEY created. You could argue that people shouldn’t be putting that high rated of a player into an exchange, but it’s better than trying your damn best to scrape together cards to start a squad for a big sbc to get rid of dupes.
While EA has been diving in the gutter with EAFC I feel like Konami improved Efootball a lot in that regard. I've been playing it for couple of months, and I already have a team decent enough to compete in top divisions while spending absolutely zero penny in the game. You can grind your way to the top here without spending anything and the gameplay is also not broken which I like.
Exact same situation with FC Mobile, i havent played consistently for 5 months now and switched to Efootball(PES) Its the greatest switch you could ever make

The worst thing is that most of the community even after all that is still handing out money to ea on a silver plate and some content creators keep exposing such behaviors on their platform so more kids get suck up to it, for me this was my second year of fifa and i cannot stand such treatment from a company to its player base and probably it will be my last year purchasing a football game from ea
So i started with fifa23 half way through the year and got really good players just by grinding and opening packs without paying a single dollar. Same thing on fc24, not a single dollar spent but the level of player you get are shit and feels more inclined to buy a pack to have a chance at getting players.
what people dont realize is why ea gets more agressive withs untradable packs and packs with ridicoulous prices is what every company at the stock market does. They have lost tons of players but they still want to earn the same money or even grow. So what do they do? They try to milk the playerbase that is still there even harder so they can tell there shareholders how great the game is doing.
This game is so weird. When I was matching an opponent in DR or Fut Champ, the matching session always got lapsed or the opponent simply leaving the match. It happens all the time. It takes at least a few attempts to just to match successfully. And then during the match, my pace +90 winger will always got outpaced by the opponent's fullback coming up from behind. It also seems to me his players had unlimited stamina as well, because he didn't even had to make substitution! What's more. When my winger was charging, it would suddenly slow down for unknown reason, not to mention that my players always seem to act very sluggishly while the opponents can run very fast. The most outrageous thing is when I was about to have a short corner, the opponent could even shield my teammates behind him, which should be impossible!
I have genuinely not packed a single mid-high tier promo cards this entire year. I haven’t participated in a single promo because I can’t pack anything. All my untradable are icons from the gamble picks and packs. I don’t have a single first owner promo card in the team and I have been playing since the beginning.
Premature epackulation helped me get toty icons while I collected fodder for SBCs. I'm so glad I spent most of my packs before the full release because I got only mentions after that through grinding.
Last year, in FIFA Mobile, they released Ultimate Team Of The Season and for like 1 hour, there was a glitch in the 20 token pack which gave out UTOTS guaranteed and high amounts of coins. Most of the people with decent amounts of fifa points got like 20-30 UTOTS 113-115 cards guaranteed. These cards had rlly good stats too and people who got them got SO MUCH MORE OVR in just 20 mins.. and basically all the people who didnt get it was compensated by one, yes ONE 114 UTOTS card.
Been playing fifa since 13. This is the first one where I genuinely got bored by November. The untradable packs have ruined the game. I will not be buying another fifa going forward
Thank you for saying this. I just returned to fifa since not playing since fifa 17. The game was unplayable without buying fifa points/getting a couple of the crazy upgraded cards in my opinion. It used to be just common, rare, TOTW, TOTY, TOTS. Now there’s a million player rarities / so many ways to obtain OP upgraded players that in my experience with FUT 24 it’s unplayable without buying fifa points. I had to buy $50 worth just to pack TRADABLE players I could sell for coins & start getting the upgraded player cards. I dont know, I just don’t remember every single opponent having a full squad of upgraded cards.
TH-camrs have to take alot of responsibility for the state of ea games. I cant help but blame people like auzio, bateson, nepenthez for getting a generation addicited to gambling whilst constantly promoting it. The day they demonitized for it is the day fifa will change.
Back in Fifa 16, the ĥigh rated gold cards were actually useable, along with most of the faster, more agile players rated 75-80. If you were a half decent fifa player, you could build a 50k squad and actually win matches by being good at Fifa. The past few years it's been about grinding SBCs and spamming broken gameplay mechanics with Meta players. It started in Fifa 19 with timed finesse shots, now its trivela shots.

As a person who plays the mobile version same thing happened in mobile version during tots last year were people were packing messi haaland and other utots and 1b coins by opening points claimed by playing matches against ai so i know people are feeling

I disagree with the premise that having high rated gold cards worth 200k was good for the game. Back then, high rated golds were pretty much unattainable. Nowadays it’s much easier for people to get cards that they want to play with. I don’t see the logic behind your sentiment as to how it harms the game.
Atleast efootball lets u keep your players. Not coming back until frostbite is replaced. Ive had Ronaldinho 2006, kaka 2006, eto'o, vieira, and figo for over 2+ years and still going i have no desire to buy them again fut + gameplay have ruined the game (been playing since fifa 94)
I didn’t get into the game in time to do the Messi pick… I saw the sbc, went into it and started throwing players in, then it got removed as I tried to submit it… it’s almost like they have no QC team, or that their QC team doesn’t have a person with a basic understanding of stats and their player database to catch the fact that there is no player other than Messi from MLS
I was a FTP since the game started and since November I started saving my packs and investing until TOTY to I point where I had 3000 packs. All I got was HM Olga Carmona who doesn’t even go into my team. Then when the Messi incident happened, I opened the player pick and didn’t get Messi, and thats when I quit
The game was fun back then because a) gameplay wasn't just a means to an end for most people and b) the company didn't have to sell the game with good gameplay, because the people that bought it for opening packs and collecting cards/making a team spend 10x more money than those that play for the gameplay.
The only time when everyone can get good players without gambling is when the game is nearly dead. I do rtg and so many times people hit the griddy on me just like their TOTY Messi didn't finesse it from 40 yards out because the couldn't score otherwise
Wish there was some thing we could do. Like all content creators combine and rally all of their subs to commit to not spending a penny on fc24 from now until it’s obsolete and to stage some mass sit out of weekend league. And for all players to drop from elite and nobody enter it for a month to show an empty league table. But it can’t / won’t happen sadly. All content creators refusing to SharePlay pack opening would be a start.
I packed TOTY Bright this year from a 2 rare player pack. I wasn't hyped because it made me realise I didn't have to buy all the expensive untradeable store packs...
Finally did it, this was the push i needed to leave the game, have fully not played since this happened, honestly feels kinda good; hope the ones that still enjoy keep doing so, and the ones that dont, stop for their own sake, cause it has only gotten worse this year
In fifa 18 I spent all my Christmas money (£50) on some packs because I wanted a good player. The best player I got was some random 84. Fast forward to now, I bought one of the 4,000 fifa point packs (£30) during Toty and got icon xavi, hm Trent + a bunch of high rated fodder. This game is terrible but the store is still way better value now than it was back in the day.
This is the first fifa where I never spent real money on packs yet. I have 1mil coins and a 90 rated team. Only issue is it’s a waiting game to grind that, if you miss one weekend league you lost 100k for that weekend. And now you’re behind a lot of players

It’s the only soccer game I enjoy, & I love the sport so much where I wanna find a game to play for it. There’s nothing I can say that justifies why I would spend money on this other than I just love the sport. You don’t need to play ultimate team in this game, career mode is fun and even seasons mode is pretty good. It’s definitely a scam to spend real money on FUT which is why I haven’t this year but that’s mostly because as I got older I realize I should spend my money on other things. This community is largely young and probably mostly teenagers who work part time and don’t know any better to save their money instead. It took me years to realize that and I’ve been playing since 2012
I’ve been playing fifa since fifa 15 and this fifa is probably the fifa I’m the best at and the fifa I have the most coins/ valuable team and yet it’s the game I have least enjoyed my teams worth 20 million some untradable some tradeable and yet I find myself only playing fut champs and then not opening the game until the next weekend league
I’ve played ultimate team since the beginning in 09/10. And this year has been by far the least fun I’ve had, to the point I can’t remember actually coming off the game having had a fun time…. Last year was so bad but this has taken things to new levels of low. Honestly the fifa experience since this new gen has been released has been fucking atrocious, every year the gameplay gets worse and EA get more incompetent and blatantly greedy. The biggest killer of the game above all is the untradeable route EA have gone. We are now at the cliff edge of there being no more transfer market. There’s no point in having the market, everything and everyone’s team is untradeable! Now even the store packs are. The pack weight this year across all promos has been disgustingly low for even the most useless cards. But to pack anything from the few tradeable packs we get is damn near impossible! I haven’t packed anything worth a fraction of a toty card that’s tradeable in the last 2 fifas. EA have truly handicapped us and then to shit on us even more they keep releasing more and more Evolutions that cost to do!! So we’ve got no way of making coins other than spending insane amounts of time trading which just isn’t worth it imo, been there done that and it kills the enjoyment of the game. Reward coins are barely substantial to get you by if you want to do every evo, unless you can consistently finish rank 1 or elite or whatever then you ain’t making much coin from rewards, and to make coins from pack luck is less likely than winning the lottery. I can’t even be asked to keep ranting. They’ve killed the game and they’ve truly killed the most anticipated promo of every fifa this year. Toty was special, you never expected to pack anything and you didn’t mind back in the day cos you could work to get these cards, to see a Messi or Ronaldo toty in a game was an exciting treat! But you were happy running around with your gold Loic Remy and Sturridge all year cos everyone used golds all year, the game was fun! There was no fomo. You could go and play cod with your mates and come back on fifa a month later and your team was still fun and competitive and you never really fell behind. Your gameplay was consistent. Man remember when we had good gameplay? Been atleast half a decade now! There’s literal kids now joining the fifa cycle in recent years that have never experienced a fun and playable fifa game!!

I did that SBC and didn't get him, but I got x2 TOTY's, a TOTY Icon & 6 HM's even though I didn't save packs. I wonder if people with a lot of packs saved were penalised with even lower odds. My luck was good, but some people opened way more packs and got nothing.
I've never properly played FUT or spent money, but I gve it a go on at the start of this season and can I just say how mundane SBCs are. The interface is dreadful and it's like having an admin job on an old system that should have been replaced a decade a go. It's work, in fact doing SBCs is much worse than work.

They removed legacy defending because of scripting. With jockey ball is bouncing or not taking the ball, even if you player have special perks.

The worst thing is that most of the community even after all that is still handing out money to ea on a silver plate and some content creators keep exposing such behaviors on their platform so more kids get suck up to it, for me this was my second year of fifa and i cannot stand such treatment from a company to its player base and probably it will be my last year purchasing a football game from ea
A 700k pack that contains nothing tradeable.....sums EA up very accurately.
So i started with fifa23 half way through the year and got really good players just by grinding and opening packs without paying a single dollar. Same thing on fc24, not a single dollar spent but the level of player you get are shit and feels more inclined to buy a pack to have a chance at getting players.
Simple answer... Just don't put money ever in the game. I never have and never will.
what people dont realize is why ea gets more agressive withs untradable packs and packs with ridicoulous prices is what every company at the stock market does. They have lost tons of players but they still want to earn the same money or even grow. So what do they do? They try to milk the playerbase that is still there even harder so they can tell there shareholders how great the game is doing.
This game is so weird. When I was matching an opponent in DR or Fut Champ, the matching session always got lapsed or the opponent simply leaving the match. It happens all the time. It takes at least a few attempts to just to match successfully. And then during the match, my pace +90 winger will always got outpaced by the opponent's fullback coming up from behind. It also seems to me his players had unlimited stamina as well, because he didn't even had to make substitution! What's more. When my winger was charging, it would suddenly slow down for unknown reason, not to mention that my players always seem to act very sluggishly while the opponents can run very fast. The most outrageous thing is when I was about to have a short corner, the opponent could even shield my teammates behind him, which should be impossible!
I have genuinely not packed a single mid-high tier promo cards this entire year. I haven’t participated in a single promo because I can’t pack anything. All my untradable are icons from the gamble picks and packs. I don’t have a single first owner promo card in the team and I have been playing since the beginning.

I did all the 83+ x10 & multi 84+ sbcs & still don't have a single bit of fodder over a 85, the pack weight atm is bloody awful
Premature epackulation helped me get toty icons while I collected fodder for SBCs. I'm so glad I spent most of my packs before the full release because I got only mentions after that through grinding.

Last year, in FIFA Mobile, they released Ultimate Team Of The Season and for like 1 hour, there was a glitch in the 20 token pack which gave out UTOTS guaranteed and high amounts of coins. Most of the people with decent amounts of fifa points got like 20-30 UTOTS 113-115 cards guaranteed. These cards had rlly good stats too and people who got them got SO MUCH MORE OVR in just 20 mins.. and basically all the people who didnt get it was compensated by one, yes ONE 114 UTOTS card.
I stopped playing this game couple of years ago and I’m very happy with that decision !!!
Been playing fifa since 13. This is the first one where I genuinely got bored by November. The untradable packs have ruined the game. I will not be buying another fifa going forward

Thank you for saying this. I just returned to fifa since not playing since fifa 17. The game was unplayable without buying fifa points/getting a couple of the crazy upgraded cards in my opinion. It used to be just common, rare, TOTW, TOTY, TOTS. Now there’s a million player rarities / so many ways to obtain OP upgraded players that in my experience with FUT 24 it’s unplayable without buying fifa points. I had to buy $50 worth just to pack TRADABLE players I could sell for coins & start getting the upgraded player cards. I dont know, I just don’t remember every single opponent having a full squad of upgraded cards.
TH-camrs have to take alot of responsibility for the state of ea games. I cant help but blame people like auzio, bateson, nepenthez for getting a generation addicited to gambling whilst constantly promoting it. The day they demonitized for it is the day fifa will change.
I even think they've limited rivals wins to 7 that you spend more time in the menus (and look into the shop).

Back in Fifa 16, the ĥigh rated gold cards were actually useable, along with most of the faster, more agile players rated 75-80. If you were a half decent fifa player, you could build a 50k squad and actually win matches by being good at Fifa. The past few years it's been about grinding SBCs and spamming broken gameplay mechanics with Meta players. It started in Fifa 19 with timed finesse shots, now its trivela shots.

I disagree with the premise that having high rated gold cards worth 200k was good for the game. Back then, high rated golds were pretty much unattainable. Nowadays it’s much easier for people to get cards that they want to play with. I don’t see the logic behind your sentiment as to how it harms the game.

I was struggling with UT and decided to try Seasons again. WOW, what a change! The gameplay is so much more enjoyable.
I didn’t get into the game in time to do the Messi pick… I saw the sbc, went into it and started throwing players in, then it got removed as I tried to submit it… it’s almost like they have no QC team, or that their QC team doesn’t have a person with a basic understanding of stats and their player database to catch the fact that there is no player other than Messi from MLS

I was a FTP since the game started and since November I started saving my packs and investing until TOTY to I point where I had 3000 packs. All I got was HM Olga Carmona who doesn’t even go into my team. Then when the Messi incident happened, I opened the player pick and didn’t get Messi, and thats when I quit
I made ALL of objectives and i not pack a single TOTY,even honorable mentions
The game was fun back then because a) gameplay wasn't just a means to an end for most people and b) the company didn't have to sell the game with good gameplay, because the people that bought it for opening packs and collecting cards/making a team spend 10x more money than those that play for the gameplay.

Wish there was some thing we could do. Like all content creators combine and rally all of their subs to commit to not spending a penny on fc24 from now until it’s obsolete and to stage some mass sit out of weekend league. And for all players to drop from elite and nobody enter it for a month to show an empty league table. But it can’t / won’t happen sadly. All content creators refusing to SharePlay pack opening would be a start.
I packed TOTY Bright this year from a 2 rare player pack. I wasn't hyped because it made me realise I didn't have to buy all the expensive untradeable store packs...

In fifa 18 I spent all my Christmas money (£50) on some packs because I wanted a good player. The best player I got was some random 84. Fast forward to now, I bought one of the 4,000 fifa point packs (£30) during Toty and got icon xavi, hm Trent + a bunch of high rated fodder. This game is terrible but the store is still way better value now than it was back in the day.
This is the first fifa where I never spent real money on packs yet. I have 1mil coins and a 90 rated team. Only issue is it’s a waiting game to grind that, if you miss one weekend league you lost 100k for that weekend. And now you’re behind a lot of players

It’s the only soccer game I enjoy, & I love the sport so much where I wanna find a game to play for it. There’s nothing I can say that justifies why I would spend money on this other than I just love the sport. You don’t need to play ultimate team in this game, career mode is fun and even seasons mode is pretty good.
It’s definitely a scam to spend real money on FUT which is why I haven’t this year but that’s mostly because as I got older I realize I should spend my money on other things. This community is largely young and probably mostly teenagers who work part time and don’t know any better to save their money instead. It took me years to realize that and I’ve been playing since 2012
I’ve been playing fifa since fifa 15 and this fifa is probably the fifa I’m the best at and the fifa I have the most coins/ valuable team and yet it’s the game I have least enjoyed my teams worth 20 million some untradable some tradeable and yet I find myself only playing fut champs and then not opening the game until the next weekend league

I’ve played ultimate team since the beginning in 09/10. And this year has been by far the least fun I’ve had, to the point I can’t remember actually coming off the game having had a fun time…. Last year was so bad but this has taken things to new levels of low. Honestly the fifa experience since this new gen has been released has been fucking atrocious, every year the gameplay gets worse and EA get more incompetent and blatantly greedy.
The biggest killer of the game above all is the untradeable route EA have gone. We are now at the cliff edge of there being no more transfer market. There’s no point in having the market, everything and everyone’s team is untradeable! Now even the store packs are. The pack weight this year across all promos has been disgustingly low for even the most useless cards. But to pack anything from the few tradeable packs we get is damn near impossible! I haven’t packed anything worth a fraction of a toty card that’s tradeable in the last 2 fifas. EA have truly handicapped us and then to shit on us even more they keep releasing more and more Evolutions that cost to do!! So we’ve got no way of making coins other than spending insane amounts of time trading which just isn’t worth it imo, been there done that and it kills the enjoyment of the game. Reward coins are barely substantial to get you by if you want to do every evo, unless you can consistently finish rank 1 or elite or whatever then you ain’t making much coin from rewards, and to make coins from pack luck is less likely than winning the lottery.
I can’t even be asked to keep ranting. They’ve killed the game and they’ve truly killed the most anticipated promo of every fifa this year. Toty was special, you never expected to pack anything and you didn’t mind back in the day cos you could work to get these cards, to see a Messi or Ronaldo toty in a game was an exciting treat! But you were happy running around with your gold Loic Remy and Sturridge all year cos everyone used golds all year, the game was fun! There was no fomo. You could go and play cod with your mates and come back on fifa a month later and your team was still fun and competitive and you never really fell behind. Your gameplay was consistent.

I did that SBC and didn't get him, but I got x2 TOTY's, a TOTY Icon & 6 HM's even though I didn't save packs. I wonder if people with a lot of packs saved were penalised with even lower odds. My luck was good, but some people opened way more packs and got nothing.
The introduction of ultimate team to FIFA single handily ruined this game.
Messi debacle was the final straw for me. Leaving the game for now and will come back at repeatable 85x10 time for the final hurrah.
I've never properly played FUT or spent money, but I gve it a go on at the start of this season and can I just say how mundane SBCs are. The interface is dreadful and it's like having an admin job on an old system that should have been replaced a decade a go. It's work, in fact doing SBCs is much worse than work.
At least they should make us keep all the copy for the untradeable so we can use them when ever we want for the SBC
