God that howl terrified me as a kid watching that movie. I grew up in the deep woods and had seen several coyotes multiple times and heard things at night. Now I'm sleeping to it. My how I have changed

Best horror movie of all time, and by far the most terrifying werewolf howl and growl sound effect ever. I am 60 years old and I still get chills up and down my spine hearing this.

"American Werewolf in London" is one of my favorite horror movies and twenty years later, I could still watch it!
Holy shit...that howl...till today..just listening to it is giving me serious case of goosebumps and my blood running cold...awesome job making this...a classic of horror itself...the growls, shrieks, roars..and especially that howl...damn....the adrenaline is literally transporting me to the very place it's in...excellent!
The howl is so friggin perfect. The uncanny quality, sounds like an animal but none you heard of before, and it sounds vaguely human in a screwed up way. But I think the most perfect quality is the distance, it's the perfect distance, it sounds far enough to generate echos but it doesn't sound far enough away, it sounds like it was howled at a nearby peak or summit overlooking the field or patch I'm currently on, it sounds like it could be closer if it wanted to, and whoever can hear it probably can be seen by it.

The howl still terrifies me. So unique, unlike many other werewolf films where it's just a normal wolf howl.

That howl is one of the eeriest pieces of sound design I've ever listened to, it does sound like a persoñs hardware and equipment trying to run animal software and executables. There is something extremely haunting about how corrupted the howl is, this being is surely not something common or natural to our world and the elevated position its howling from, let's hope they can't see you because it's not that far off😅😮
I think I remember reading online that the howls is an amalgamation of a serveral different animals howling and a humans scream distorted to create it haha.
Best werewolf movie ever made for sure. Scared the shit out of me as a youth. Nightmares for months. Rick Baker was the man. His work is legendary.

God this movie was the scariest movie I had ever seen as a kid! To this day I can't watch it. I still get chills and feel scared when I hear that howl! And it turns out it was a horror comedy hahaha, it wasn't supposed to be the most terrifying movie!

Stay put where it’s warm and dry and “safe”! The inside always seemed so cozy and inviting, at least to the regulars. Seriously think about it at least….it would be very much appreciated. Thanks for the great content as always…..I look forward to it.
