Turn off gas, then run the stove to use up gas in the line.
Then disconnect.

Seems like it must be caught on something, my guess would be the electric cord or the gas line. Have you made sure those are both free?

What about closing off propane lines and stuff ?
I just used a 3/8" brass bolt with thread sealer tape. Never had a problem with it.
Wish you would have showed to remove the outside cover
I didn't remove it. It is hinged and is held up and out of the way

What did you cap the gas line with?
I just used a brass bolt. Make sure you put thread sealer tape on it tho.
3/8" Flare Plug is the standard size for LP lines.
