A tip, give the drone another chance, the darts it fires are trackers, and they last a LONG time, so if you think someone might be a player, tag them, and they'll usually panic without realizing who called them out. Tried it out in a match out of curiosity and got to tag someone I thought was suspicious, they freaked out and *sprinted* to the other side of the map, leaving me free to crack open one of the security rooms.
For the spy glass, I like to make it so that if I don't have a keycard, I walk towards a staff or guard room and start hacking it, trying to make it so I arrive at the door just the moment it finishes and opens up. Takes some practice to get good at it, but once you know the exact distances, it makes going through doors without keycards far less suspicious (the hacking speed upgrades help a lot, even the grey one). I'm aware, you can just hack the doors from far away and then enter afterwards, but I found this technique useful in case there is someone else around so they wouldn't see the door just opening by its own.
Spy glass can also be used on doors which is it's best feature if you ask me. I have been in a room opened a door at range and caused to other players to fight each other because of it.
I run tripwire and mimic every single game. The mimic is pretty much essential IMO, since it can obscure you from the package carrier wallhacks, completely save you every time from guards (even if you cloak right in front of them, they de-aggro, try it), and the most obvious use, you can hide with it. Tripwires can also be recalled from a distance by holding reload, so you can just keep moving, they are GREAT. Did not know about the spyglass revives though, that's awesome! Seems like at least one person on a team should run it.
For the airbag, I did see someone on Larsin make a pretty cool play. Basically, he was in a 1v1 with someone, bamboozled them with stealth, stole the briefcase, and jumped up a double staircase using the airbag (I think the airbag also prevented the other person from following him up the staircase). It was a pretty cool play, but that’s kinda a once-per-game type of play tbh. Edit: also, the prop disguise is REALLY op. If you lose your cover, you can activate the prop gadget to instantly begin recovering, as well as drop the aggro of npc guards. The prop along with the spyglass are probably the most universally useful gadgets.
The airbag can also be used to block narrower doorways! Pretty good for taking cover as well, but still a bit meh. It does get a 5/5 rating from me for the jumping around in the lobby fun
The tripwire also "Broadcasts" which means it pings everyone in the lobby where the person is. Also you can see an enemy drone. And the hack trap also "traces" the enemy so you can see there movement/location for a decent amount of time
The signal scrambler is actually quite good. Something that wasn't mentioned is you dont need to deploy the scrambler on the ground to use it. It can be used on person with a reduced range. This is excellent because if you know someone is using tripwires you can activate it when you walk through doors to bypass them without jumping. Another thing is when active it will remove the prop cloak off players. This is useful since some players like to hide as props next to the vault terminals to get easy kills. Just deploy it and activate to see if any props become npcs
personally i enjoy the signal scrambler, just because it's a relatively risk-free way of invalidating trip wires. everything else it does is a bonus, IMO! I just throw it down in front of whatever guard door as I walk past, then double-back later so i don't looks suspicious. Works well with the spyglass if you're going for a late game!
The bounce pad is better than this tier list suggests. It’s the only true disengage tool in the gadget category akin to teleporting with Xiu or vanishing. Switching to a new floor that an enemy doesn’t have instant access to is amazing, but more amazing is jumping from an insane height. People will often follow you believe it or not. I’ve killed many people because I heard their screams as they chased me off the top floor of diamond spire. If you play Ace it gives her a sort of widow grapple for when someone gets the jump on you.
The turret and mimic are a great combo when someone else has the briefcase and your playing defense. You can mimic into objects they cant scan you and place down your turret after shooting the case holder. And you have the advantage.
The bounce mat has many other uses: 1. Can be used to close entrances in spots where enemies would hesite to break cover just to destroy it, specially early game. 2. Can trow enemies up midnight, breaking their control and making their descending trajectory more predictable. 3. In some very specific spot you can lounch enemies outside the map and enviroment kill them. 4. Can take a bullet for you midfight and trow off enemy’s aim (good on slow shooters and low ammo counts). 5. Also the many shortcuts you can use to cut time (takes experience and knowledge of the maps and of the fact that being spoted is veeeeery different from being attackable. And many more we will probably still learn.
The turret also is much deeper: 1. You can put it in a high trafic area and use as a camera (entrances to vault for exemple). 2. You can combo it with trip wires to start a fight in advantage (enemies out of cover) or to leave behind in rooms that might be visited. Enemy enters… loses cover… takes a little dmg from turret… door closes behind him… deals with turret… npcs chasing him for lack of cover… he is pinging from tripwires… someone just arrived to colect the kill. 3. Can also take 1-2 shots for you (remember that ammo size for some characters is precious (sniper with W3 has only one bullet on the chamber). 4. Also tracks enemies through walls while shooting (you can shoot, hide, turret marking them, you track come out of cover and shoot)
The trip wire: 1. Has a proactive use: lets say you wanna be sure a noc is not a player in a room with you, tou can trow a pair at its feet and it will instantly break their cover, of you are fast or they are not paying atention you can get the jump on them, also give you some peace of mind in rooms you are “preeetty sure” you should be safe. 2. Dont forget the main benefit of breaking theyr cover (it not exposing them), its taking away theyr cover shield (headshot imunity), you can start the fight with a huge damage reduction advantage. 3. Also since you have 6 dont wait to use them in rooms and and doors only, trow a pair or two early in high traffic areas or choke points like stairs, people oftem miss them or give a clear tell by running up the stairs just to stop right in front of your trip or even worse, jump over it. 4. You can also use it to “filter” wich NPCs to take the appearance from, to not incur in the mistake of taking tou enemies cover and giving yourself away.
The drone is great: 1. First be carefull that the dart is visible to enemies, so dont use in a obvious manner as it may give you away. 2. Its incredible so you can stay in a middle position (central plaza in the beach map), far away from briefcase scan range. So the enemy panics and use all his intel to gather 0 info on wich extraction point is safe. 3. All maps have a room where you can see a convergence from the “map lobby” to the “briefecase lobby” where you have 100% chance to see the briefcase holder, there you can tag him and keep chasing him and retaging (drone can sprint faster than a character), so he either is forever visible to you or he breakes cover in a room full of guarda and other player chasing him. 4. I alsolike to just start a game, grab green card, guard cover and white and green upgrades and sit in a corner on a low trafic central zone, from there i chase and keep marking suspicious people and since the dart is visible people around my targe get suspicious of him (i call it the master pupeter) i chase fights and keep taging both enemies (the cd on dart is really low) and help one keep track of the other (since tou can see the drone and hear a buzzing noise [quite loud]). If you are close enough you can come colect the kills. 4.1 bonus tip: you may find after a kill that there are plenty leftovers: 2 well looted oponets killed esch other and there was plenty left on the floor, you can go there and get your free loot. 4.1.1 i find this playstyle usefull when leveling characters that only become viable with w2 or e2 like yumi (bonus on lower cooldown on gadgets - they cant keep your fly dead). 5. Im still trying to perfect a playstyle where you fly “inside” enemy players or NPCs to bait shots on NPC simulating a player darting from hand (heat increase on civilian kills).
Really useful video. But a few things I've noticed from watching a very high level player, he absolutely loves the bounce mat. Yes it gives away your position, but it's typically used to fly up one level. So sure people from below are going to see you, but what are they going to do about it? Whereas people from the level you're going to, it's far harder to spot. He uses it to skip sections a lot, even skip a few door unlocks in some areas. Jumps in for a gank on occasion, also great for fleeing an enemy who has spotted you. It's his most used gadget by far, seems to fit his highly aggressive playstyle well. Spyglass he mentions is a bit of a trap for newer players, its incredibly difficult to use whilst also appearing like an AI, particularly when walking. But it also has a huge draw because of what it can allow and the perceived safety it offers. But if not overusing it the spyglass seems to help speed a ton for less aggressive players like myself. It just offers a lot less safety than it feels like it gives. Mimic is great. It's not just useful against players. If you become an item in full view of a guard he loses you and your cover regenerates. So getting any random item early is very useful, even if it's out of place it doesn't matter to break from the AI.
The bounce pad is one of if not the best gadget in the game. I'm sorry, but you will learn over time, that it also does other things that are very very good. Crowd control, it blocks line of sight for cover recovery.
The drone works well with Ace in large maps. So you can sit somewhere in public and scan players with the drone and mark them. This would allow ace to track them easily and get a fully charged head shot to start an encounter which could lead to an easy kill. Also the air bag can be really good to reach certian vaults by skipping entire areas. Also great for ambushes if you are a high damage pvp build.
Bounce pad uses: let's u jump up to high ground on literally every map. U can bounce up to the bridges on diamond spires. Up to balcony on reef. And yes stop fall damage. U can drop down. And If the enemy chases bounce back up and if they don't have a bounce pad u get away for free. Huge for agents without escapes. It can be used to skip vault doors. There are several vaults where bounce pad let's u bounce up to a purple door skipping the blue door all together gr8 for speed running for ur upgrades. If u aren't sure about an agent im a group of npcs. u can use it block door ways forcing enemies to either hit the bounce pad giving up their cover allowing u to get that first few shots. or find another way around. Confirmed binoculars can be used to rez downed teammates. Very strong and u should have it on ur most survivable agents (i.e larcin/madame xiu.)
Drone is an amazing gadget I always run it on my main ace. It's a Lil character specific. The zap is a tracing dart it tracks targets for extended periods of time. The drone can be destroyed it has 1 hp. U can sit down or do a task with ur npc while using the drone. Things that ppl would expect an npc to do for quite a while so it's safer. It makes a fly sound when u fly around close to someone so it's also annoying (more useful then ud think) I use this to get wall hacks on ppl to get cross map snipes with Ace or to just annoy players so they blow their cover and attract other spies.
Not shure if it was commented, but I experienced the Jump-Pad as a defence tool for lower-level players. If you don't have any Gadgets than you can block off a door for example with an inflated Jump-Pad. Can buy you a couple of seconds and the player chasing you needs to waste ammo. You can generally use it as a early game shield.
Imo the bounce pad is pretty op. you can for example get into certain rooms like a terminal room without needing to use keycard or intel. it negates all falldamage and is just really nice mobility.
Also a really good tip for spy glass is try and get used too timing door hacks, that are green, blue and purple because if your walking into those doors and you need to hack it, it will be obvious you don't have a key card to other players, But if you hack it while walking and time it right, it will look like you just opened the door normally when walking in, because you were hacking it before hand when you got too the door, You can hack a door sooner but people will wonder why a door opened but no one came out or went in, so there's that risk if you pre hack a door instead of just hacking it while walking into the door.
Personally I think the hack trap and goo pad are great for getting yourself time in a purple or blue area you can goo a door and trap it so if someone comes in you know so it is and you can kill then while they are gooey. Also hack trap works on all doors and golden case even extraction points
I've been LOVING the prop hunt mimic. It's insane how much it allows you to get away with. You can use it while your cover is blown and it'll regen, and you can even swap to your gun (other gadgets too maybe? Didn't seem to work with the goggles) and ambush someone from it. Insane for escaping and decent if you set it up properly. I'll be trying it out with the drone later for sure, cuz if you can use the drone while being in the prop, that's very fun Also seemed like being tracked actually cannot bypass the disguise and won't reveal you at all, but maybe that's just the lack of people actively using it. Obviously some props are pretty shit, like boxes unless in specific areas and toilets especially, but chairs (albeit you need to be careful with them as there are different types across the map) are all right, and turning into something like a flower pot or trash can is borderline OP cuz those things are EVERYWHERE. Also the water dispenser in diamond spire is pretty inconspicuous.
A tip, give the drone another chance, the darts it fires are trackers, and they last a LONG time, so if you think someone might be a player, tag them, and they'll usually panic without realizing who called them out. You can also fire it like a tracker gun WITHOUT breaking Cover at all!

Spy glass can also be used on doors which is it's best feature if you ask me. I have been in a room opened a door at range and caused to other players to fight each other because of it.
It’s true, I’ve revived my whole team from a distance with the spyglass (enemy team was completely clueless)
Wait you can do that?
@@jcf1320 yes within like 25m even through walls, they will spawn where they died though so gotta be sure coast is clear there

There's headshot protection when you're in cover

There are definitely some interretsing combos in Team mode : trap wire slime turret
I use spyglass in every game. It's too good. It also can call the extraction from a distance for even more sneaky plays.
The bounce ball is op
Mimic is the best gadget, It's the only thing that can hide you from the case.
IIRC, this was a bug and has been fixed.
Yes spy glass can revive your teammates on distance, its true
Can confirm spy glass can res teammates
Damm thats crazy.. thanks for the info.. good video
This was a good video you get a thumbs up from me
the best and most versatile item you can mimic is the trash can.
I’ve been playing for 2 days and have no idea how to even pull out my gadgets. On PS5 😑
Liking the pfp way better than the last one
You know this game gonna dead like in 3 month😅
That’s a possibility if they don’t spread the word about this game more 😔
Even if it is the case atleast it's only 20 bucks 😅
Probably but if they can be attentive to the game then it's possible
