    So, he went through a bad experience with addiction, chose not to repeat it, and chose to focus on the thing that he can lose himself in a healthy way, that is his music.
    Mr. Marshall seems to me as a very reasonable human being that learn and make good choises.

      What if Eminem produced as well as acted, at the very least so that he could control the scheduling in a way that won't have him simultaneously acting and composing?

    • @evandropba90
      @evandropba90 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Wired4Life2 I believe that Hollywood would not allow it. This would increase costs without much certainty of return. Maybe he would only get more and more frustrated. Anyway, it's a big "what if".

    • @dcworld4349
      @dcworld4349 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Wired4Life2 And what studio would be willing to pay for the added time? Most people don't work 12 hour days but for simplicity sake lets say that he would only be willing to work for 12 hours a day. That means for every 4 days of shooting you need to add an entire day of production on top of the budget. If you are doing a movie that takes about 2-3 months to shoot. That will quickly add up. I'm sure the crew workers would love it because it would mean shorter days for them with longer guaranteed work and pay. But the studios do not want to pay that extra money.
      Why do you think the reports about the Rock being notoriously late to show up on set started to pop up? The studios didn't like it but were willing to put up with him as long as he was making them a nice profit. But the time of his star power where he could star in any movie with a flimsy premises. That would have had no hope of making a profit if it wasn't for him starring in said movies, is over. I am not saying that people don't want to see The Rocky any more and that he doesn't hold any value. He's not in any current danger of becoming Steven Seagal, but the man is getting older, there will come a time where he has to switch up his approach.

    Eminem was offered Matt Damon's role in Elysium, the only reason he turned it down is they were not willing to film it in Detroit. That is also a likely reason for the other films as well.

    Eminem ultimately stopped being in films because he said and did exactly what he wanted to do and say. I grew up watching 8Mile everyday for a little over a year. I love Em. I totally agree with your take. I also believe that Eminem wanted respect in hip hop, so badly, that he felt that if he even partially deviated and took on more acting roles, he’d be viewed as a sellout and a cliché.
    He wanted his legacy, in hip hop, but most of all, he wanted it undeniable, he’s commitment and passion and dedication. He didn’t even venture into other music genres. Many people want to discredit and disregard Eminem, in spite of all that he’s done, so he constantly wants it clear that those who want to discredit him, they themselves will be discredited before he caters to them.

    Is it too much to comprehend that he did the movie because nobody thought he could? Sometimes, a man has to go through utter hell just to prove to the world he is more, to be taken seriously. I believe he did 8 mile to show the world that he is much more than his Slim Shady persona. When Eminem came to the world, he was a punchline. But the movie proved that Marshal Mathers is a real person who has climbed from the ghetto kicking, screaming, and punching back if needed. To be taken seriously in a craft that so called "experts" have written you out of is the truest form of becoming "King Shit of this particular turd hill".
    Now that he has done it, and proved everybody wrong, who the hell is there left to top except himself? When he first started, he was willing to do anything to make it to the top. Now that he is there, the "opportunities of a lifetime" come to *him* instead. It takes a truly free man to look these "too good to be true options" right in the eye and say with a straight face......."No".
    That's how you know you have been taken seriously.

    I think he could star in another film if he wanted to. 8 Mile must've been too taxing on him because he was not just starring but also constantly working on the soundtrack, pulling the double duty on the roles he was contributing to the film. If he only had to concentrate on one aspect, it might not destroy him as much. But again, it would still go back to whether he had the ambition as now that he's older, he's already established his identity and would he really need to prove anything else by returning to the silver screen?

It would be nice if he got a small part role in some movies where he doesn't have to be the main center of attention and could instead show up and have fun, so he then might find some joy in it. Either way though, I love his music so if he just focusses on that instead, that is fine with me, hope he continues to have fun and succeed with it.

    Eminem was great in 8 Mile, but not every musician needs to be an actor just like not every actor needs to be a musician. There have been so many potentially great movies that were ruined by musicians who couldn't act. If certain individuals have the talent and want to have that crossover in their career, that's okay, but it shouldn't be implied as a no brainer. 50 Cent is a perfect example--no movie has ever been improved by his presence in it.

    Why would someone hit ‘like’ 0:37 seconds in on a video where you're critiquing the performance of someone else..
    I think I'll watch the video and make my voti g decision independently - but thanks.

    I think it's best for him to be a rapper than to have him be a movie star.

    Any time a rap song wins at the Oscars…all two times, it kind of feels like the Academy is trying too hard to be “cool” and “hip with the kids,” when we all know they’re one of the stuffiest of all award shows. No wonder Em was deadass asleep when he won (this is an exaggeration btw)

    Why do you structure these videos like you are trying to reach a word count for an exam? More information, less words please.
