"The Three-Body Problem" is a science fiction novel serialized in the "Science Fiction World" magazine by mainland Chinese writer Liu Cixin from May to December 2006. It was published as a single volume by Chongqing Publishing House in 2008. This book is the first work in the "Three-Body Series" (original name: Once Upon a Time on Earth Trilogy). The sequels "Three-Body II: Dark Forest" and "Three-Body III: Death Eternal Life" were released in May 2008 and 2010 respectively. Published in November. The novel won the China Science Fiction Galaxy Award in 2006 and has become one of the best-selling science fiction novels in mainland China since its publication.
