Great video thanks for sharing all the info. Can’t wait for your work up and video on the new 7.1 fixed wing autoland with approach corridors set up. Thanks
For my VTOL INAV I made a 2 step transition with the third pid for transition only. During the transition I turn the yaw stabilized yaw lower and lower the more that the motors angle toward airplane make for a much smoother transition.
so in my special case, the plane did not land in the direction or place where I put the waypoint. I know about the exclusive landing direction, but it didn't even turned a whole circle for wind estimation. Would be realy great to ge a video on that, cause there is nothing out there exept the github page. Just a few DVR Videos of landing, which doesn't help much, in regards of the setup in iNav. Thank you very much for your work on the channel! Best regards
Nice overview. Just a note about multicopter ‘mag-less’ navigation setup. INav Configurator require not only a magnetometer, but also a barometer before it gives you the navigation modes. So depending on the flight controller, you may need to setup a Fake baro as well.
Advanced Tuning: Multirotors -> Multirotor Navigation Settings -> Stick position for althold hover (STICK, MID_STICK, HOVER). How do these positions work?
Thanks for this, all your videos have been a great help setting up my first iNav fixed wing. Setting safehome points has a 'Land Alt' option. Default is 5m which seems to be added to the elevation of the safe home point! How is land altitude different from elevation of the safe home location, or is this meant to be a manual correction? Thanks again.
Great video! I saw that improvement in min speed setting. I've been trying to determine if it's possible for INav to use the airspeed from my pitot tube and not ground speed from the GPS for waypoint missions.
@@ndcapper it’s not really needed. Cruise throttle works in a similar way. The same throttle level will result in the same airspeed (at a similar voltage).
Looks good! Question, do you know if the DarwinFPV F411 used in the Cineap25 is supported in INav? Someone suggested I could use the MatecF411 firmware? Thx
@@MrD I have now. I searched discord, thinking it may be a PICNIC error (Problem in chair, not in computer). Had a brief look at the code but there's a fair few changes with airspeed and haven't had time to dive deep into it. Many thanks for everything you do for the community 👍
Hey there. I need your😊. I calibrated my motors/ESCs, but when i increase throttle on my Taranis x9d plus, the motor speed does not increase. What have i done wrong.
Excellent video Darren. I do long Range and I see that in version 7.1 I can achieve that when I activate RTH, and if I have a Safe Home with Autolanding in the middle of the road, it goes to that point and lands there, right? That's very good. But what can I do, if I want him to come home and stay loitering around the Home and not go to the Safe Home? How can I cancel that Safe Home and have the plane look for the starting Home? Do you understand my question?
I wanted to try INAV on my quad for the first time today but I could only fly the quad up or down because only throttle worked while roll, pitch and yaw didn't do anything...
Hello! I recently put inav on my quad and after landing I rearmed and quickly took off again. I instantly noticed my sticks were near unresponsive so I panicked. Ended up coming back seconds later while I was pushing the stick away from my car, over-rotated, slammed into the driveway before I could catch it. No real damage I had a dummy gopro. I'm wondering if "in-flight emergency rearm" is what caused this? Says it switches to angle mode "briefly" and thats exactly why my quad hit the rock
I guess it’s possible if it hadn’t detected that it had landed yet. Maybe leave it 5 seconds between landing and disarming. Before arming again for another flight.
Darren, do you know whats up with iNAV 7 and 7.1 not working with HDZero anymore? A buddy and myself cant get any of our wings to get video with the latest iNAV versions. If we flash back to 6.1 the video works great. The only way to get video in 7.0 and 7.1 with HDZero is to disable the display port, but then theres no OSD. Any suggestions? Thanks Darren!
at the time of writing HDZero vtx is at v 1.5.0. This works fine with iNav 7.x.x. I have upgraded from iNav 6 to 7.1 on about 7 or 8 aircraft without any OSD problems.
I got it, in configuration tab you have to change the band to raceband, its default BOSCAM A, so simple! I've just never controlled the VTX through iNAV! So simple!!
I won't be able to upgrade due to iNav dropping NMEA support and my GPS isn't ublox. Its unfortunate that they went that direction, NMEA wasn't holding things back or causing technical difficulties they just felt that people should be constantly upgrading and replacing their quad. My quad is 10-12 years old, it works great, I won't be re-building it for iNav. Not only would I have to replace my GPS but also my broadcast module as it is expecting NMEA. My best hope at this point is to build my own custom firmware with it enabled back in. But that's some work so I'm still on iNav 6. Very pointless and dumb.

I’m looking forward to trying autoland out. It’s something that INAV has needed for a long tome.

Barometer has always been needed for quad navigation. It’s only that compass is no longer needed.
Thanks for all you do Darren!

The airspeed changes broke my setup using analogue sensor. Worked fine in 6.1. Sensors screen shows flatline and FC shows sensors calibrating.
Did you raise an issue on GitHub?

Did they canceled this mode ?
Thanks
If you have Continuous Servo Trim active. AUTO TRIM is not shown. They do the same job. So it doesn’t make sense to have both.

Mr D...1 quick question ..inav configurator 6 only for inav 6...inav configurator 7 is only for inav 7..yes?
Yes. You should always match major versions of the Configurator with the firmware.

And walksnail Avatar OSD still doesn't work in INAV.
The windows configurator 7.1 runs as 6.0.0 FP2.
I can confirm it doesn’t. You probably have 2 instances of Configurator installed. It’s loading the 6.0.0 FP2 instead of 7.1.
I suggest using smaller screen because my laptop screen is smaller than yours so everything looks too small on my screen
Sounds like a you problem, and not a Darren problem.
If there is something you need to see, you can do a screen grab, then zoom in.
Hopefully they get can bus working 😢
AFAIK. There is no plan to implement CAN at the moment.

If it had landed. The emergency rearm is not active. So there is no danger of this. It needs to be in flight for emergency rearm to be allowed.
