There’s something about older cars like the Pontiac that really took away your breath on how amazing they really are. Now you see people trading in their sedans and SUV/Minivan for the newest model whenever possible for more electronic features. But while they are more safer and practical in the eyes of the government there are things that many owners forget about owning older and vintage vehicles. It makes you feel out of touch with a world that had become so obsessed with highly expensive vehicles and take you into an experience that very few people will now be unlikely to get. And while they are often average or a bit expensive to drive one and catering to the special care it will often require, it gives you one hell of a reward in turn just like if you drove a Lamborghini or Ferrari from today.

Mich wundert nur das sportlich anmutende Fahrzeug in der heutigen Zeit alles andere als sportlich ist.

einen solchen Firebird hab ich auch. Meiner ist EZ. Januar 1990, Coupe mit dem 2.8 V6 und 5 Gang Schalter. Die 136 PS treiben den Bird eher gemächlich voran. Dennoch wunderbares Fahrzeug wo Blicke garantiert sind. Die Musik in dem Video passt wie die Faust aufs Auge

Die schwammigste, untermotorisierteste Dreckskarre, die ich jemals gefahren bin. Niemals wieder. Selbst geschenkt würde ich mir den Hobel nicht mehr antun. Aber das Video ist toll geworden. Viele Details. Dafür gibt's natürlich einen Daumen hoch. Schade, dass ihr nicht mehr solcher Videos gemacht habt. Das hätte abomäßig garantiert reingehauen.
Wie schauts denn mit dem V8 Firebird aus der Generation aus? Ist der den Kauf wert?
Ist das Auto in der Waschanlage und bei Regen noch dicht? Bei meinem leider nicht. Die Scheiben gehen nicht mehr gut zu. :(

Wonderful review...from someone with the same year car. Yours seems to be in very good shape. Sorry you have the V6. If you had the 5.7 L TPI engine (as I do), I suspect you would be able to smoke a few of those Porsche's at stop lights!

Sehr schöner Wagen. Aber er müsste 218 Nm haben meine ich. Und sind die V6 nicht bei 180 abgeriegelt statt bei 170? Zumindest der Schalter

+buckolaci Wow! A Trans Am!!! Great!! In Germany the old Firebirds are rare. I´m happy to own a black Non-Facelift incl. T-Tops. I really like this car. I tried to show all the pros and cons of this car for all those who has no chance to test a ´89 Firebird.

No cruise control, no air condition, no heated seats... This is entry level equipment except removable sunroof. Only 170km/h! Even Golf Diesel reach 200km/h!
Obsolete worm transmission on steering rack like today only on trucks, busses, jeeps. Only 3 speed automatic transmission, no overdrive gears. Obsolete rear solid axle today only on trucks, busses and jeeps.
What you expect from a car from the eighties.But still looks super cool and can be modified today .

Okay... wie bekommt man es in der Umrechnung hin, dass man bei 0-100kmh 13,8Sek. hat und bei 0-60mph (ist quasi 0-100kmh) plötzlich bei 9,2Sek. landet?! xD xD Iiiiiirgendwas amerikanisches liegt hier in der Luft... kp was xD
at 1:38 the motor have 217Nm at 3900rpm ;) not 160Nm but very nice review, the only one review with good quality camera and all specs thank you

Eine Alarmanlage nicht, aber eine elektronische Wegfahrsperre ist bei allen Pontiac's vorhanden. Man erkennt es am eingebauten Microchip im Autoschlüssel

Für 12.500 € ist ein fast neuwertiger bei mobile.de drin, in Metallic-Rot. Ist ein V-6. Denke, dass man ordentlich Firebirds so zwischen 8500 und 10000 € findet.
