An intersection conclusion but Zero is what some might call a negating factor much like in algebraic terms. While X has unlimited potential, Zero, too can grow in strength to negate who or what stands before him.
Iirc Zero was originally designed to _be_ MegaMan X but it was decided that he looked too different from the classic design so he was made into a new character
The only points I disagree with are, 1. Zero is not powered by solar energy...nor is X. X is powered by a Micro-fusion fuel tank and Micro-fusion generator per the specs outlined in the original Mega Man X intro as well as the instruction booklet. Secondly, it's likely that Zero functions using a similar power source which is what he chose to overload and ultimately destroyed the lower half of his body...as opposed to his Zero buster which he gave to X...depending on whether or not you found his arm cannon upgrade in the Flame Mammoth stage. Sorry...not trying to be a jerk. Just wanted to point those 2 facts out. Excellent breakdown and explanation, though!
The only “solar powered” thing that I’m aware of are x and mega man’s buster and I guess the clear buster. Also I’m pretty sure in the start of x there’s something in the schematic intro that says x’s gem gathers solar energy for im assuming the buster. Not sure about zero especially with the chest gems.
@gandorokkorodnag9028 The gem on X's helmet has more of a sensory function as the guide and schematics say it's a broad range camera in the first game if I remember correctly. I remember it is also tied to his weapon energy usage thanks to the helmet from the third game if I'm not mistaken. As far as the X buster goes, it's likely a plasma cannon of some sort since it is a byproduct of fusion but you could be right since Xs and zeros schematics both use an accumulative energy generator...and that would definitely lean toward solar energy.
this video misses the point, it's made abundantly clear in the MMZ series that it's not about the body, it's about the person inside of it, zero in his clone body was still more powerful than even his original body, and clone X might have had the powers of X but was very weak in comparison to the original
Only if it was made by a top notch studio. Like madhouse etc..., where each episode cost $1M+ to make, and it has 12 episodes. 1 for each robot master and the last 4 for each boss in Sigma's base and story wrap up. The final episode should be 5 min if conversations, and 24 min of straight MMX vs Sigma.
I thought that was either Sigma or X? Sigma was created for the sole purpose of leading the Maverick Hunters, and X was technically the "father" of all Reploids, making him the original Maverick Hunter.
I'm going to contact the studio that made Castlevania along with every other show they made to ask them if they can one day make a Mega Man X TV show with me as the writer.
This video didn't compare Zero's power to Mega Man at all. But I think it should be obvious that X and Zero should be far greater than any Robot Master in every single respect.
Plot Twist: Willy was the good guy the whole time, and created the robo-virus in order to kill robots, not drive them mad and kill people. Willy knew Robots with free will would only lead to disaster! :P
the canon ending to X5 is X defeating Zero. So he’s stronger than Zero in that regard. He has insane upgrades. If anything. X main flaw is how he prefers peace and he holds himself back. I don’t know how strong X is in the Zero series but I know he is still hella powerful. But Zero is a weapon specialist in MMZ so to me that makes him more powerful in that series. Now base form I will say Zero is stronger. But if X is using any of his upgrades (White, Blade, Falcon, Ultimate) X is stronger. Also I remember Zero being designed to destroy Rock and not X.
Wasn't Black Zero's first appearance in X2? If you succeed in capturing all of Zero's parts, Sigma introduces X to Black Zero clone only to be completely destroyed by the real Zero.
Well, we have to think about their creators and their way of thinking. Both X and Zero and the Magnum Opus of Dr. Light and Dr. Willy, and they both embody their own ideals. Light was the thoughful type, one who thinks about all posible scenarios and viable "futures", and so he created Megaman/X, a Reploid with average parameters, but with the potential to be upgraded AND to make a copy of the "powers" of other reploids to adapt to any situation. Willy is more inquisitive and egocentric, extremelly fixated on outdoing Dr. Light and prove his worth, and so, after several failed tries, he developed Zero, a Next Gen Reploid with optimized parameters and expertise in all combat, and also developed the Z-Saber as a mocking of Megaman/X ability, reducing it to a mere tool which can absorb and use the elemental power of its foes. Zero is specifically designed for combat, and it's final mission would be to eliminate Megaman.
@@javiervasquez625Yeah, wasn't it said to be out of character for him? That makes me think that his good guy personality is his real one. The original personality that Wily programmed into him, even if only subconsciously. But then, Wily created the Virus and installed it on Zero so that Zero would be his weapon. Or maybe he did this out of spite after learning about X, turning the hero he always dream of creating in his younger days into a Devil. Regardless of the exact reasoning, the Virus is why Zero was out of control, I believe. So Wily installed a Restraint next(the W in his head) to try to keep Zero from killing even his father. Still, in the end... No matter how you interpret his origin, Wily ultimately did succeed in realizing his original dream. He created a hero, a Robot Master that outlived both Rock and Megaman X.
@@Ohimeshinso X and Zero both outlived one another as _Model X_ and _Model Z_ respectively. Even though ZX and ZX Advent's lead director Makoto Yabe has gone on record to say that the Biometals "are only made of data taken from X and Zero's minds", it's pretty clear that Model X and Z *are* in fact X and Zero resurrected, just as Model A is most definitely a resurrected form of Axl after his ambiguous fate following the events of X8. They even got Zero's voice actor from the Zero Saga to voice Model Z, making it explicitly clear that they're the same characters from the previous two Sagas.

That is to say Wily went to work repurposing the protoman designs from which to derive Zero. That makes Zero a brother to the other Mega Men such as original, X, and Vollnut.
Arguably, X is even more powerful than Zero due to the limitless variable behind his body capabilities and his name. Zero is just an op warmachine who lacks X's ability to grow exponentially in power through experience and development (think the Zenkai ability of the Saiyans in Dragon Ball).

As much as I like Zero as a character, I think Capcom did him dirty bringing him back over and over again, because they just made it so that some people would get annoyed with him, for basically taking away X's main character role, even though from a player's perspective, having Zero as the playable character made way more sense, since if you think about it, when most people play games and such, they don't hesitate to go on the path of destruction easily no matter who stands in front of them, which does fit how Zero handles things, since he's the type to throw down first and then ask questions later, but X on the other hand is a more complicated character, that because of his pacifist side in the cutscenes and stuff, he is always hesitating and trying not to fight, but whenever a player is in control of X, they just got on mass destruction sprees, which just does not fit the character, as he's not supposed to be destruction hungry. I think that Zero's best portrayal however was in Command Mission, because I liked how he got fed up with all the other Reploids, since so many of them have betrayed both he and X for like 1-2 centuries by that game, and he couldn't believe that X was still able to trust Reploids, and by that game's plot twist it was proved that Zero had been right all along, and its too bad that the ending to that game was sort of rushed, because I would have liked for Zero to be like "Ha I told you so", but unfortunately he never has the chance to gloat at X for how wrong he was.

So I have a theory that X and by extension Zero don't outclass the original MegaMan by as much as most people think. My reasoning being that, while Dr. Light had more advanced technology put into X, he didn't design X for fighting while MegaMan had been rebuilt for fighting
X was design to have complete freedom unlike Megaman. X even recieved upgrades meant for war, in case he was met with dangers that surpassed his base form. And was also given the freedom to grow as a warrior as well, if he so wished. This is his main characteristic which separates him from Megaman
Play x4 as zero then as X and you have your answer. Zero blows through the entire game with utter ease and speed. X is a slog and weak as hell even with his upgradea.
Speed alone does not determine the victor... Although once you're familiar with the game, it can be speedrun with zero faster, it ultimately is harder to play as him the first time through. Pretty much everyone who's beaten X4 beats it with X first, and that's because it's easier
