  • A selection of some of the biggest rapids we ran during our Grand Canyon trip in March 23 - April 14, 2023.
Peak Lee's Ferry flow at launch was about 10K then ramped up at the beginning of April to about 20K.

Nice! We were there March 19th to April 8th ... super good levels and we didn't get that 20k bump until just past Lava. Looks like you had full juice for it!

Super dialed! I love that Aire cataraft. Your group is safety oriented. Something my group lacked on my trip unfortunately

What set up did you use for filming rig and charging? It’s great!

Primary video cameras were GoPro Heros 8, 9,11. I used a MAXOAK Portable Power Station 500Wh AC50S to power a Canon R6 and the GoPro that took most of the footage. It lasted through until the last day of our 22 day trip so it was perfect. Over 5,000 stills and over 1,500 video clips. Most of the video was pretty short (15 seconds or less). The rapids had the longest segments.

Depends on the time of year and how much it is raining throughout the canyon. But it is very common.

Please don't use the "Class" terminology for the Grand Canyon. On the Canyon it's the Grand Canyon Scale. The "Class" scale is for virtually every other river, and only goes up to 6 (unrunnable). So when you say "Class 8" there is no such thing. Thank you.

Thanks for the feedback. I didn't know how to say it. I'll create an updated version using the right terminology.

@@bobmcgraw , I feel your terminology is fine and it speaks to the river you are rafting. If I'm not mistaken, not all rivers are rated using the International class system (1-6) that @rtennant is referencing, although most around the world do use this scale. The Grand Canyon stretch of the Colorado River is one of these exceptions along with a few other big-water Western rivers, where the rapids are classified on the 1-10 rating scale. e.

      What an arrogant remark
