Nice job, mate. I like your approach to remove the whole front to replace the grill instead of that lousy "I squeeze my fingers in the back and don´t care how many clips I´ll be snapping off"-approach many people seem to prefer. Thanks for the video!
No problem thanks for watching
Fair play for getting that fitted. I'm still not sold on the look of the GP grille myself.
Thanks for watching, I wasn't keen when I saw it on the GP itself, its only when I saw it on a none GP3 I decided to have a go at it
@@tweedbean definitely looks good with the lower part paint black now
@@Saavvvv Thanks, it was a spur of the moment change while they bumper was off the car
@@tweedbeanwhen the lower bumper was painted black did you have to remove it from the rest of the bumper or was it masked around and painted? GP grille looks great btw
Awesome video, very helpful! It goes very well with your spec!
Nice one, thanks for watching 👌🏼
Nice install brother 🙌🏻
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
@@tweedbean always bro! Twins gotta stick together 😂👍🏻
Did you ever find a clean solution to covering the gap at the top when retrofitting this grill?
purchased an aftermarket clone(glossy) for extremely cheap to judge if it would fit/look nice on my cooper S, and am very happy with the look. need to find a proper fix for that gap before i can justify purchasing a proper (non glossy) OEM grill.
Yes there’s an OEM part from the gp3 that you can buy, I don’t have the part number to hand but your dealership could get hold of it if you give them a gp3 reg
Trying to dechrome my JCW F56 grille trim by spray painting(plastidip). I suppose there is no easy way to unclip and pull the chrime time off w/o disassembling the whole bumper? Thanks
Sorry not without risking breaking all the clips
Good look. Red pieces in the brake ducts definitely tie it up. Came here to say thank you, my JCW walk around video is getting lots of views from being recommended after yours. 🙌🏻
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video
Great job ! congrats !
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it
Very informative. I'd like to know if you have completed it with the hood seal and the upper mount bracket. If so what are the part numbers?
I did not however the part numbers for what you need on in the comments for this video from memory as someone else asked me
@@tweedbean thanks so much
Nice vid buddy, picked this grill up a few weeks back but not had time to fit it yet. This def helps me out 🤘🏼
Glad it was helpful
@@tweedbean Really intrigued to see how the top of the grill clips into the GP and what we need to do to get it to fit in correctly 🤔
hi I have a F60 countryman JCW 2017 and I was wandering if the new front grill from the F60 countryman JCW model 2021 can retrofit on my older 2017 model, thanks beforehand
Sorry not sure as not owned an f60 so cant comment on parts
Is it possible to remove the black number bar without affecting the black chrome grill surround or must that come out first? Thanks
Not from memory
where would you buy this piece to transform the cor
There are plenty on eBay at the moment or your local Mini dealership
@@tweedbean thanks
Did you get the top part fixed in the end?
I did, you need 51749464494 plus associated clips/bolts. It’s around £55 for the trim
Looks sharp. Do you think it’s possible to dremmel out the remaining honeycomb ?
You could but the whole point it’s there is because it covers up the crash beam and foam which would be ugly if you could see that, hence Mini covers it
Awesome videos dude, keep up the good work 😎
Thanks for watching 👍🏼
What solution did you come up with to secure the top of the grill?
So with the way it is, its not going anywhere. But if you want the finished article you can purchase the panel, unfortunately my part guy is on furlough due to latest lockdown so waiting for him to come back before I order the part and make a follow up video.
@@tweedbean hello mate any updates on this? Thanks
Think he sold this? So no follow up video 🤷
@@tweedbean Any news on the panel to finish this GP grill install?
Curious too s I’ve bought a new GP3 grill to put on my daughters JCW too
Where have you been placing your front number plate bud ? On the dash ? thanks mate
I use a towing eye mount from Burger motorsports supplied by Orranje to keep me legal. Placing on dashboard will get you fined. It’s quick release as you just unscrew it for photos shows etc
@@tweedbean ah I see mate , that's a good shout ! Thanks for the information :)
Hello
What air intake is that?
Thanks
Eventuri 👍🏼
Hi, great work, love the video! On a side note, could the front bumper you have be retrofitted onto a f56 non jcw (with fog lights). If so what is the term for your bumper please. Hope to hear from you and keep up great content!
Mine was a non JCW with fog lights. The problem you have is that this is lci2 JCW bumper was never designed to house fog lights so you won’t be able to buy mounts in the black vented section to re-fit them
Thank you for your reply!
Was gp3 grill will fit f56 cooper S?
Sorry I don’t understand your question, if it’s was does it fit a Cooper S then yes I would assume it does.
You need to get a more aggressive hood scoop
Thanks for watching, I don’t actually own that car anymore
I’m wanting to replace my chrome strip on my F56 Cooper S for the red chilli strip on the top front grill.will I have to take the bumper off or can I get to it without it being a big job.Great videos 👍
It may be possible but very tricky and you risk stressing other parts of the grill by bending it to get to clips on the rear from memory
Lovely car
Thank you
I love your videos, they’re really helpful.
What did you do to make the centre part of your bumper black?
Kind regards!
I just removed it and painted it black
@@tweedbean Thank you so much, I’m really looking forward to the rest of your video’s!
With front PDC I would assume this is not possible?
Not that I am aware of
wow, this is awesome!
Thank you
Great video, helping alot swapping out my chrome grill for a black trim piece.
What's the model numbers for your headlights? My F56 with the JCW sport package has halogen headlights for some reason. I really like those projection ones on your F56. TIA
Sorry not sure what the code is, they are factory LED headlights
Great video! Do you know if there's any issues with the minis that have the front proximity sensors? It seems like there's no room to place them.
Sorry not worked on one with it to know, assume it could be an issue as you aren’t the first to ask
@@tweedbean Thank you! I've realized that the place where the sensor lies is on the plastic plate with lines that is placed below on the corners, which is also left uncovered as I can see in your video. So technically it shouldn't be an issue.
Nice work 👏
Thank you! Cheers!
Love your content! Quick question- I’m trying to fit a f56 jcw rear bumper will the model fit for a Cooper s f56? Will it fit?
Hi yes it will my old f56 was a Cooper s with a JCW rear bumper. Thanks for wathching
I've just bought 1 of them fancy fitting it 🤣
🤣
Nicely done dude. How do you decide which mini to drive. I battle with do I take the classic triumph herald or the 18 year old bmw mini.🤣🤣👍 thanks for sharing dude. Stay safe stay awesome 😎👍
Thanks for watching, it’s a tough one
Just keep the gp badge it looks super good..
Nah it would bother me, it’s like an m badge on a 118d
Going to have to add this to the to do list 🤣 great video
You should! thanks for watching
Nice. Good. Job
Thank you! Cheers!
Wow. You did it! Well done mate!
It looks super bad-ass 🚗💨👌🏽
Great vid.
Impressed with all the work executed. And successfully so.
Thanks 👍🏼
How much did your insurance go up with this modification?
Nothing, it’s a grill
Dealership badges S’s with JCW logos. FYI. So no big deal GP badge on JCW.
Each to there own I suppose
good job, can i have your gp badge?
Thanks but I sold it as they go for decent money
Hello 🙋🏼♂️. Would You sell the Other grill ?
Hi sorry I don’t own that or the car anymore.
I cant believe how he managed to do that without scratching the paintwork with all that nasty rough Tarmac around and such a small piece of cloth for protection
Hi thanks for watching. Not to worry the fleece blanket stood up to the test and bodywork is tougher than you think. No marks, front end is still spotless 👍🏼
Hey mate,I was wondering if you still have the jcw badge in the mask, only with this tape, will it stands over rain etc ?
Its the same tape that manufacturers use to attach the badges so no issues
@@tweedbean okk thank you bro
Good video but I can’t see why anyone would actually want a GP grille on a none GP MINI. Bizarre
Some people prefer the design, its not about badge engineering for some people, similar to mine where I didnt fit the GP badge I kept my JCW badging
Ton bouchon d’huile et pas bien fermer 😅
Are you saying my oil cap is loose?
SUPER!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope it was useful!
