Hi Bilikis, I was watching your new lesson on Tulip Sleeves and was fortunate to
read a comment asking you about this lesson on the Elastic Waist.
This smocking lesson was just what I needed.
Could I ask you to make a small adjustment to your explanations explanations to us?
The sewing/pattern term for adding extra inches is called "Ease".
IE 1/4 of your hip is 11 inches plus 4 inches of Ease = 15 inches.
The part where I get mixed up is the total ease. The total ease on the front of the
dress is actual 8 inches at the hip? I gather that because of the Smocking at the waist
we loose 4 inches of ease. Am I correct?
How much Ease would I add to the Bust and Waist?
