This is a very interesting puzzle and governed by similar logical steps on the gold/silver plates and there appears to be only a single way to do it. What would be nice would be if there were multiple versions of the same puzzle and you only needed to change the gold/silver plates
I buy such puzzles as this for their aesthetic beauty, regardless of whether or not I can solve them. But, of course, solving them does add to the beauty!
This is a great puzzle. I bought it shortly after it was released and i could not solve it, i got stuck at the very end. I did manage to open it with some force and it turned out that one of the pins was a little big bigger then the other. I mailed a picture to the supplier and they send me a new one for free! The new one did not have this problem and this time i could solve it without problems. This was the only time i had a problem with a Hananaya puzzle. Definitely check out Oskar's channel, he makes very interesting puzzles. We have some great puzzle designers in the Netherlands :-) Wil Strijbos is another designer who makes fantastic puzzles. Thanks for sharing!
I'm having the same problem with my puzzle. The pins won't move without excessive force on the gold side in at least two spots. Edit: When I did manage to get it open, I noticed that there are very small scratches on the edges of the gold side along the paths. I took a closer look at the undersides of the heads of the pins and there are very small imperfections that are causing those scratches and those are probably also causing them to get stuck.
I am afraid there's not much you can do about that. You can try to return it and see if your supplier is willing to get you a new one (if these are still available). The least is that you should get you money back. Pity, because it is a really nice puzzle. Hope you can get it sorted out.
I ordered this as soon as I finished watching the video! Now that I've had a chance to play with it for a couple of days I have to say I really love it. I just wish it had been offered for a bit less money, its the most expensive Hanayama puzzle I own right now. Thanks Mr Puzzle for another great video!
If I was left with an ultimatum of solving one of the puzzles on your channel or jumping of a building and living I have a better chance of survival with the building. I'm still stuck on the giraffe one.
I do not like most hanayama puzzles but this..this is AMAZING! the right amount if difficulty and a marvelous mechanic. i will try to buy as soon as i can
I really enjoyed this puzzle I found familiar to the stacked 4 layer puzzle. I’m so looking forward to getting mine in the mail... you are truly the puzzling MASTER!! Thanks again for your review of this one!! By far my favorite puzzle, I’ve seen on your channel yet!!!
I recommend paying close attention to the label on the device on both sides "puzzle master" as it is being taken apart and then again when it's put together. The movement of it traveling clockwise tells everything.
Your intro sounded extra vibrant Mr. Puzzle. A fresh new year, new studio an renewed energy! Unique puzzle. Do they make similar, but more difficult versions of this puzzle? Thank you for the video. Lots of fun and good quality.
Your videos are so relaxing to watch and extremely interesting. I always feel like I come out of every video understanding some wild puzzle concepts and solutions that I never would have come up with on my own in 1,000 years of trying. Keep up the good work Mr. Puzzle!
What would be even cooler is if the long tines on the two side pieces ended up being keys for another lock, so you had to separate this medallion to open it
oh hey! I have this at my desk at work. Took me a couple days to figure it out on and off playing with it, but I can now do it absent-mindedly in a couple minutes. It's a really satisfying puzzle.
Elliot Grey WARNING!!! Unlocking three of these puzzles in the same building is not recommended as I found it will free an unspeakable evil from a prison they have been contained in for over 10 thousand millennia.
Why the travel distance difference? MATH: Circumference = 2*pi*radius (for those non- math geeks, that means simply that the circumference grows as the radius increases)
Nice puzzle! I got a similar puzzle from wood with 2 ball bearings inside. Also 2 plates on each side with a different maze. It's called black Jack I believe.
Dang. This is SO COOL. If I was a machinist, or a 3d printing enthusiast, I might get it just so I can mess around with variations. ...As I understand Oskar does in his prototyping. I'd second some exchangeable puzzle faceplates, or at least a couple other pairs, maybe examine them to see how they work. How would you diagram that, etc? What kind of possibilities would there be? Prototyping and the like. Sounds like a really tough, longterm, but fascinating problem. Looking at the mathematics of the x and radial y axes in sequence, etc. I'd think it'd also be really cool to machine a couple of metal covers that hook over the little pins, and add some decorative flair; and put it on a belt buckle or something. Or have little windows that limit how far on the puzzle you can 'see', vary by X or Y distances, or whatnot. So you have to do it more by feel. It seems there might be enough wiggle room for another layer, and if not you can probably easily machine a couple extra long pins. Also trying to engineer a way for it to snap together into the starting position would also be really interesting. Makes me want a shop and a skills.
I had one of those little cylinder magnets stuck inside my belt buckle the other day (its kind of like a box, but it has a little bar and slope inside making it very tricky to maneuver the magnet), The whole time I was trying to fish it out I was thinking of your videos with all the different puzzle solutions. Looking at it later I’m pretty sure I went about it wrong and made it much more complicated than it needed to be, but at same time I’m not entirely sure. Oh yeah, and I was using just the tip of the belt that had a little metal piece to move the magnet around, that’s a big reason it was so difficult to do anything. It would have come out pretty easily with some kind of wire or pliers, but I wanted to see if I could get it out with only what I had. I did end up managing to get it out, but it didn’t come quietly; honestly though if it wasn’t for these videos I probably would have just left it for later and gotten it with an easier method. Thank you for helping me look at it like a puzzle and waste an exorbitant amount of time on it that I didn’t need to. :p
I have watched nearly half your videos. I love them. But I do not have any intention of buying any puzzles. I just like to see your methods of problem-solving.
When you make your videos, do you have the solution/steps written in front of you or do you just remember how to solve them and put them back together?
Until I receive my Medallion, I'm just curious: it seems to me that this puzzle is symmetrical, so could you assemble it with both plates rotated 180 degrees (puzzlemaster logo upside-down on top when assembled)?
One thing that made this difficult to follow is that you change the way you turn it over. Sometimes you flip it vertically (exchanging up and down), and sometimes you flip it horizontally (exchanginig left and right). This makes it very hard to keep track of what's on the other side as you watch the solution. Looks like a very nicely made puzzle, though.
Not once did he flip it vertically for the main solve, he would flip it vertically when he was double checking his orientation, but that was for his benefit more than ours, the one thing at the top of the black thing is there through out the entire video. And swapping it horizontally would have no big effect, whats facing whatever direction would stay the same way when its horizontally flipped.
My medallion just arrived! :) And it's impressive! I have numerous other Hanayama puzzles, but none is as big as this one. A very fun puzzle to solve because there are a lot of dead-ends...
In the video I said 3 to 4. Depending on your skill it can be very confusing so it's rather a 4. It also has a lot of oneways which I do not show in this video.
Hi Mr Puzzle, even though i am very pleased with al of your videos, i think that making a top in which you classify some of the most difficult or interesting to solve would be very nice, as we (at least me) can not afford all the puzzles. Thank you very much for all of your efforts.
I would like to suggest, I think you should design and/or make a puzzle of your own, and make it available for purchase, at a fair price, to lets say 50 followers. What do you think?
They should sell it disassembled. The puzzle should be to assemble it. As in, you get a medal for successfully putting it together.
now you can prove your the king of puzzles
by wearing one
This is a very interesting puzzle and governed by similar logical steps on the gold/silver plates and there appears to be only a single way to do it.
What would be nice would be if there were multiple versions of the same puzzle and you only needed to change the gold/silver plates
This is a seriously addictive channel. Fascinating and therapeutic. Many thanks Mr. Puzzle.

Fucking awesome of that company to take your criticism without complaining and also sending a new piece
I'm having the same problem with my puzzle. The pins won't move without excessive force on the gold side in at least two spots.

CeraisianAlchemist take a very thin file, like a fingernail file, and smooth out the imperfections on the back of the rivet heads.

Thanks Mr Puzzle for another great video!
"Keep in mind that knowing the solution cannot be reversed!" proceed to show 50000 moves. Knowing the solution INSTANTLY reversed. xD
😂😂
Очень жаль, что я не знаю английского языка, но то, что я вижу как этот парень справляется с головоломками, приводит меня в восторг! Благодарю!
If I was left with an ultimatum of solving one of the puzzles on your channel or jumping of a building and living I have a better chance of survival with the building. I'm still stuck on the giraffe one.
You choose an impossible task!
Finally an Oskar puzzle on this channel. Love it.
I do not like most hanayama puzzles but this..this is AMAZING! the right amount if difficulty and a marvelous mechanic. i will try to buy as soon as i can

Does anyone else just love how he says “Mr. Puzzle”?
I got it apart in 20 minutes. It took at least 1 hour too put it back together. Great puzzle.
Now that is a bad ass puzzle. Seems simple but has two sides
Your videos are so relaxing to watch and extremely interesting. I always feel like I come out of every video understanding some wild puzzle concepts and solutions that I never would have come up with on my own in 1,000 years of trying. Keep up the good work Mr. Puzzle!

This Puzzle looks SICK!
MAN does this puzzle bring back memories it was my first disassemble puzzle
I wish I got this medallion for every time I solved a puzzle.
Can you do a series where you try to solve a puzzle again which you have never been able to solved before?
I couldn't resist getting this one and I really like it!
Very cool puzzle from OskarPuzzle!
RedKB HEY I love your videos
Hey, Kenneth, nice to see you here too! Do you like this kind of puzzles too? I think I'll get one of these. Oskar always makes the coolest things. :)

"Designed by Oskar van Deventer"
*what forbidden dark puzzle forces does this object release?!* *_i must have this magic device_*
Elliot Grey WARNING!!! Unlocking three of these puzzles in the same building is not recommended as I found it will free an unspeakable evil from a prison they have been contained in for over 10 thousand millennia.

Confusing is an understatement ! Neat puzzle.
There nothing to compare the feeling of item with fingers with watching. Ingenious creator.
If I bought this, I'd rename it into "broken medallion" in short order.
😁😂
Mrpuzzle reviews a puzzle by Oskarpuzzle... worlds collide!
This puzzle is amazing!
Puzzles fom the Hanayama series are always amazing :O
Hi and welcome to another episode of MR.PUZZLE
🤗
Nice puzzle! I got a similar puzzle from wood with 2 ball bearings inside. Also 2 plates on each side with a different maze. It's called black Jack I believe.
Very cool 😎
This is probably the best puzzle I've seen on your channel.
Thankyou for the awesome content you provide
🤘😉👍
This puzzle is so unique im gonna try to get one!
Think of it in terms of degrees travelled around the circle rather than just distance
Ok I promise to watch the solution just once 😉 thanks again Mr Puzzle

Makes me want a shop and a skills.
Everyone who has skills had to learn them once. Therefore, nothing is impossible!

i love your voice so much it’s so soothing
Where can i buy these one in amazon.eu?
A really pretty puzzle but I could not figure out what you were doing to solve it. I enjoy watching you do the puzzles, I could never do them.
My brain hurts just watching!! Very Cool!!
Any puzzle I face now I find myself asking “how would mr puzzle solve this”....and it works!!
😂
Good video :) Very helpful
Thanks!
I thought you had to get to the outside holes so you can pull the puzzle apart. ?
That looked like the hardest thing ever how could you rank it a three or four
This puzzle is soo awsome!
Until I receive my Medallion, I'm just curious: it seems to me that this puzzle is symmetrical, so could you assemble it with both plates rotated 180 degrees (puzzlemaster logo upside-down on top when assembled)?
Awesome puzzle! I'm going to get it.
Huh. I never imagined you to have a beard until I saw the reflection in the medallion...
Oh, and also it's a cool puzzle!

Keep on Puzzling!!!
Ok I’ve gotta have this puzzle! It’s way cool!
Very cool puzzle! Imagine if the mazes had solid plates over them so the maze was not visible. :o
Beautiful
best one I ever saw.....
Oh damn, international shipping costs from PuzzleMaster are insane. But I still want to get this.

One of the best puzzle.✌👍👌
What an exciting quadruple maze! Just ordered it from Puzzlemaster Canada. ETA: April 5! :)
5 of April!? 🤤
There was no other option than standard surface mail to Romania, so I'll have to be patient...
My medallion just arrived! :)
And it's impressive! I have numerous other Hanayama puzzles, but none is as big as this one. A very fun puzzle to solve because there are a lot of dead-ends...
12:35 that was odly satisfying
What's your difficulty level for this puzzle?
In the video I said 3 to 4.
Depending on your skill it can be very confusing so it's rather a 4.
It also has a lot of oneways which I do not show in this video.
This reminds me of the clock puzzle.
I still didnt get how giraffe puzzle works
I know
Like how did it get solved?????? It's too complex
He basically used witchcraft
He brought in an expert
Hi Mr Puzzle, even though i am very pleased with al of your videos, i think that making a top in which you classify some of the most difficult or interesting to solve would be very nice, as we (at least me) can not afford all the puzzles. Thank you very much for all of your efforts.
Just check the playlists. The puzzles are sorted by difficulty.
In puzzeln bin ich echt super schlecht, haha :D richtig cool das du das so drauf hast und so viele Leute dazu inspirierst. :) Weiter so, Monsieur :D
Danke!
I would never figure that out
where i can get this puzzle
See description
Damn, that "Hi!" you started the video with caused my soul to leave my body. #StartledIn2018
😂
If you would recommend a puzzle to someone that has never done one before, which one would you recommend?
cool puzzle!
I would like to suggest, I think you should design and/or make a puzzle of your own, and make it available for purchase, at a fair price, to lets say 50 followers. What do you think?
It should be something you would have enjoyed solving. Maybe with a difficulty rating of 3 and upwards on your scale.
Good idea!
Oh man that's horrendous and I like puzzles!
I would give this puzzle a "4" out of "5". Not an easy solve!
Nice one bro
1st :)
I was lost after 2 moves.
Ordered one for my mate. He did it in 19mins 😂😂 fuckin insane
3:37 face reveal lol
Is it true that Hanayama puts out one puzzle of every model that doesn’t have a solution? 🤔🤔😳
Cn you do a rubric puzzle
Never really tried. But I just solved the clover cube.
Mr.Puzzle thats awesome
Amazing and yet satisfied. But this pizzle took me a whole day to complete it.😕😥😵
I love it
