Wow, Memory Lane for sure. I grew up as a small child watching this show because my Mom never missed an episode. As much as the Memories in the show are vivid, so are the memories of my Mom who I lost in 1997. So, yes, this indeed made me a bit Teary Eyed... Beautifully done, this was the Longest Running Soap Opera on TV. What a long journey... Another World was the other one I remember as well. I think DAYS was the Best of them...
Beautiful posting. I am 67 now and DOOL was my favorite. Seeing all the actors brought some tears to my eyes and so many memories of long ago. Thank you all for the enjoyment you brought to me and so many of your fans.
I remember watching DOOL as a little girl with my Grandma. We’d sit down in the middle of the after noon to watch it. I’m 51 now, and as I watch this, I look back at that memory and sigh. I really miss those carefree days. And I sure miss my Grandma.
I was a young child when "Days" first started. Watched every day when I wasn't in school. Every year Christmas with the Hortons was a MUST, even into adulthood. It's like they were family.
For those asking, as a DOOL lifer and geek, here are the roles and years of the actors in order on the video: Antony Alda (Johnny Corelli, 1990-91); Robert Alda (Stuart Whyland, 1986); Brenda Benet (Lee DuMonde, 1979-82); Richard Biggs (Marcus Hunter, 1987-94); Stephen Brooks (Joshua Fallon, 1980-81); Clive Clerk (David Martin, 1966-67); Charla Doherty (Julie Olson, 1965-66); Mary Frann (Ananda Howard Peters, 1974-79); Joy Garrett (Jo Johnson, 1987-93); Richard Guthrie (David Banning, 1975-80); John Ingle (Mickey Horton, 2004-06); William Joyce (Kellam Chandler, 1980-81); Paul Keenan (Tod Chandler, 1980-81); John Lupton (Tommy Horton, 1967-72, 75-80); Edward Mallory (Bill Horton (1966-80, 91-93); Margaret Mason (Linda Phillips Anderson, 1970-72, 75-80, 82); David McLean (Craig Merritt, 1965-67); Susan Oliver (Laura Spencer Horton, 1975-76); Nancy Parsons (Mary Brook, 1996); Madlyn Rhue (Daphne DiMeara, 1982-84); Jay Robinson (Monty Dolan, 1988-89); Lanna Saunders (Marie Horton, 1979-85); Diane Somerfield (Valerie Grant, 1981-82); Christopher Stone (Bill Horton, 1987-88, 94); Mark Tapscott (Bob Anderson, 1972-80); and finally, the indomitable patriarch and matriarch of the DOOL Family: Macdonald Carey (Tom Horton, 1965-1994) and Francis Reid (Alice Horton, 1065-2010). Hope that helps!
Francis Reid and McDonald Carey were always my favorite. There Christmas show/the hanging of the family ornaments always touched me/and made me cry. This was lovely to watch. RIP to all that passed on they brought joy and fabulous memories. I started watching this show in 1968 with my older cousin and continued until 2015. Thank you for posting.
Wow. What a beautiful tribute to way too many we've lost. I so fondly remember those I worked with during my short stint as Hope in 1981: Paul Keenan, Lanna Saunders, the mercurial Brenda Benet, Robert Alda, Ed Mallory, MacDonald Carey and the ever-angelic Frances Reid. A magical time. ❤️🙏🏼
Thanks so much for this wonderful collection of memories. I have watched since '66 so I recognize almost every person you showed us. What a great series.
Watched from 1965...good memories! Some died too young like Antony Alda and Brenda Benet. Frances ‘Grandma Horton’ Reid had a great long life but still mourned her passing. Didn’t realize some others had died. All the original Hortons are gone...Thank you!
This brought back alot of memories. I have watched it since I was real little. It came out the year I was born. Looking at the pictures, was like looking at a photo album of your family and friends.
I started watching this when I was a teenager along with Ryans Hope(I think it was called) guiding light, as the world turns, one life to live, all my children, y&r, b&b, & generations. I was all over the place... I can't remember their play names but when I saw their faces the tears started flowing thinking were just passing through. They're just like family when your use to seeing them everyday on the screen giving us a good performance. R.I.P & thanks for posting
I watched Ryan’s Hope, All My Children, One Life to Live & General Hospital. I watched since the 60’s & with my Mom if I wasn’t in school. Ryan’s Hope was the time slot they kept changing to other soaps. They lasted till 4pm.
I started watch in the mid 70s. I am heart broken seeing this, it's normal. I am sadden because days is going away on my birthday. It's one hour of the day I can escape from the world. Nothing else is on I am interested in. To many had gone too early.
What a wonderful and moving tribute and yes I remember every single one of those actors and actresses and I would still be watching Days of Our Lives if it was on NBC but since it's not on television anymore I don't get it and I watched it for 45 years
That was so beautiful to see... and I recognized almost everyone. I watched the show from the beginning, through the 90's, and still keep up with it a little.
Christine Y I have also been watching since 1965, and still do. However, the storylines and these new actors they are bringing in this year, are going to change things for Days. Joe Mascolo and John Aniston are leaving, also. That's when I will stop watching permanently. They are Salem's structure!
This was truly a touching tribute although it was quite sad to learn that so many of these amazingly talented people who made so many viewers' lives, even fuller, are no longer with us. Particularly those actors that died so young, which is always even more tragic but at least they will be remembered by their loved ones and the numerous fans who were watching "Days of Our Lives" when they were a part of the cast. Thank you for such a lovely expression of gratitude for the many who will truly be loved "Always".
Have loved this show for 50 years. I was 15 when I started watching! I think I ran home from school for lunch to watch it! Thank God today for DVR's! Miss those old days. Not to happen with some of the new stuff!. Anxious to see how many old characters show up for the reunion! I agree it would be nice to have their screen names up there. Also, I would like to see a memorial of those who have passed on!
Stephano was the best character and very well written too. All his planning he did was not on screen but behind the scenes which we never saw til it was screen if that makes sense.
This is a very nice memorial. I have watch since I was little (I was 8 when DOOL Started) as my mom was a fan until she died a few years ago.. I did not know who some of them were but I remembered some from the pictures I love Days...keep it going for another 50 years...
I been watching this show since a young girl and have seen them come and go and I remember when DOOL came on after Another World. Wow this was great to see.
I cried at the end, what a nice tribute to those that have been on the show and passed on. I watched it when I was young with my mom. There were a couple of times in moving or working before VCRs came along that I didn't get to watch it.
I was a kid back in 86,I was five years old, I remember watching this with my mother and it was so good,it's bringing back good childhood memories watching this and rest in peace everyone who died on Days of our lives
Its So Sad TH-cam That So Many Great People We Came To Know And Love Are Gone From Us Now This A Fine Tribute To The Days Of Our Lives Actors Now Gone And Hopefully In Heaven With God.
(1:52) Stephen Brooks as "Ensign Garrovick," the only red-shirted minor-character to survive an Away mission on "Star Trek: The Original Series." Nevertheless, it was probably that red shirt that ultimately did him in, waiting thirty-two years to get him. (6:55) Susan Oliver, incidentally, was ALSO a Star Trek alum, having appeared in the original pilot "The Cage" in 1964, which was scrapped and the footage was reused for a later flashback episode when Star Trek was finally given a GREEN light (pun intended, since Susan was the original, green skinned, Orion dancer).
I agree with those who said this tribute was beautiful, but it would have been nicer with the character names and dates on the show. It would be great to see this remade with these things. I remember so many of those faces from since the early days of DAYS!
Susan is still quite beautiful. And her husband Bill Hayes is still handsome. They appeared as Doug and Julie and still do appear in the show from time to time. I watched them through the years on Days including Addy/Dragon Lady and Brent Douglas days. Bill and Susan if you see this I’d love to get in touch- we have a mutual friend here in New Jersey.
Michelle Benson The 50th reunion is in November, I believe on the 6th. I hope they will be doing a tribute to all the Days actors that have passed. Frances Reid (Alice Horton) was the Matriarch. Her presence on the show had a strong impact on a lot of people who watched. Kristian Alfonso (Hope) was really close to her onscreen and off screen. I miss the opening of DOOL with Tom Hortons voice. I wish some of these sites would include the opening. It makes some of us feel that Tom is still with us. I have been watching Days since 1967.
I enjoyed this so much. I’ve watched “Days” since it first started with Julie being a teenager and caught stealing something petty at a dime store I believe. I would have been even greater it their character names would have bee listed with their real names. I remembered their faces but not their characters.
Another one former cast member that was missed: Stanley.Brock who played Howie Hoffsteader. Later John Clarke as Mickey Horton, Frank Parker Shawn Brady, & Peggy Mcay Caroline Brady.😢
Great memorial--wish you would have included the characters names...some were from long ago & we don't know the characters they played. Love the ending with Dr. & Mrs. Horton...they made that show & still miss them to this day....
I've watched Days of Our Lives since I was a kid, the crazy story lines ( Marlena possed by the Devil, still my favourite) people dying but only to come back from dead, etc LOVE IT but the show hasn't been the same since Joseph Moscelo ( Stefano) passed away,he was the reason why I watched the show.
I remember when I was a toy year old kid and I used to sit back and watch the soap operas with my mother on her wooden TV and just total nostalgia comes over me every time I listen to the beginning up your booth soap opera music is just beautiful
Charla Doherty appeared in the first scene of the very first episode as Julie Olson. Just 2 years earlier she played Beaver's potential date on 1 of the last episodes of Leave It to Beaver. Jay Robinson: I remember him well as Dr. Shrinker on the Krofft Supershow, and I also remember seeing him play Caligula in a 1950s movie. I'm pretty sure John Clarke (Mickey Horton back to the first episode) has also passed away now, but I don't remember seeing him in this tribute. Maybe I missed him. I never saw her on this show, since it was years before I was watching it, but I read once in TV Guide how Margaret Mason, who played a villainous character on this show, had a carton of milk poured over her head in a supermarket by a disgruntled fan who was making her pay for her character's evil actions. Poor woman!
Jon H I apologize for mistakenly believing that John Clarke had passed away. I just checked and found out he's still very much alive, but his character has passed now.
Jon H John Clarke is still very much alive, born April 14, 1931. He joined Days of our Lives in 1965-2004. He left the show due to health issues, and was replaced by John Ingle who played Mickey Horton until 2006. Gee, there are a lot of John's here! LOL
When you have these kind of videos I would have loved to seen the years they started till they're ending because it is one of my favorite soaps and as you're showing them I don't know who their character was or when they played them would be nice to know the year they started it would have been nice no their character name and the age when they died
It seems like true dedication that someone took all the time to create the video and edit it with the actors' names. Someone made a list of the characters in the comments.
I watched Days Of Our Lives for 38 years (though I don't know if childhood counts, since most young kids don't remember stuff). And I only know around 7 or 8 of the actors in this video.
"Bo Brady" is still alive and kicking as of today. He was on a podcast that I watched last week. He currently lives in New Zealand with his wife and daughter who is still in high school.
What a beautiful tribute♥️. I have watched from the beginning. What memories of
my youth.
Wow, Memory Lane for sure. I grew up as a small child watching this show because my Mom never missed an episode. Does anyone remember when Susan and David's baby Dickie died? I named my second son Bradley after Bradley Bannon Remember them?
Beautiful posting. I am 67 now and DOOL was my favorite. Seeing all the actors brought some tears to my eyes and so many memories of long ago. Thank you all for the enjoyment you brought to me and so many of your fans.

Wow! I have not watched that show in YEARS! So many of the long timers that have passed. 😢
This video brought back precious memories of Brenda Benet. We were friends, living at the Hollywood Studio Club...we had the best, fun times!! R.I.P.
Remember when Bill married Laura? Seemed like they kept them apart for extra long. That music is tearing me up-from “Steel Magnolias”.
Thanks so much for this wonderful collection of memories. I have watched since '66 so I recognize almost every person you showed us. What a great series.
A beautiful tribute. Thank you for the DAYS.

Perfect. Thank you.
Robert and Antony Alda, are father and son, and Robert also has another famous son by the name of Alan Alda. He played Hawkeye on MASH. Great show.
Hahaha. I Could Tell!! He looks alot like Hawkeye.
Cate ...Robert & Antony Alda also were guests on M*A*S*H epidode with Alan. I don't remember them as cast in DOOL.
And Anthony has a son Ian who is a stage actor.
@@wendyw8931 Robert did several MASH episodes.
Thanks for memories but I can’t remember the roles they played on days . At 80 it’s hard to remember.
I agree with those who said this tribute was beautiful, but it would have been nicer with the character names and dates on the show. It would be great to see this remade with these things. I remember so many of those faces from since the early days of DAYS!
Would like the characters name also. Been watching so long I can't remember some of the characters just by their real names.
Michael Zelaski ii
Agree. I wish someone would re-do this tribute with that in mind. It was so beautiful and touching 💖
God Bless those who have passed 🙏✝️🙏
Michael Zelaski nu
That was a very touching tribute. Susan Seaforth Hayes was a stunning woman! I didn't know she was that beautiful in her hey days!
Susan is still just as stunning! ❤️
Susan is still quite beautiful. And her husband Bill Hayes is still handsome. They appeared as Doug and Julie
and still do appear in the show from time to time. I watched them through the years on Days including Addy/Dragon Lady and Brent Douglas days. Bill and Susan if you see this I’d love to get in touch- we have a mutual friend here in New Jersey.
IM IN TEARS,I REMEMBERED SOME OF THEM...BUT TOM AND ALICE ARE DOOL!!
Tom and Alice were dool

I started looking this show may of 1964 .
I loved days and there was no better villain than steph.
Seeing the old cast members felt like I was looking at old long lost family members. sniff*
I will always love DOOL
Beautiful tribute
I enjoyed this so much. I’ve watched “Days” since it first started with Julie being a teenager and caught stealing something petty at a dime store I believe. Vey nice memorial video for the actors who acted in DOOL.
My only wish is that you had put the name of the characters that they played in Days
I agree! I recognized some of the faces, but couldn't remember the character's :(
CJPDeQueen I agree. The characters and years they were on.
+CJPDeQueen MY THOUGHTS PRECISELY.

When you have these kind of videos I would have loved to seen the years they started till they're ending because it is one of my favorite soaps and as you're showing them I don't know who their character was or when they played them would be nice to know the year they started it would have been nice no their character name and the age when they died
I'm still in shock to this day that STEFANO.... JOSEPH MASCOLO is gone
Lovely
Thank you CJPD!! I was just thinking the same thing!!! :-)
This would be nice if the names of the characters were put with their pics. To show true dedication.
It seems like true dedication that someone took all the time to create the video and edit it with the actors' names. Someone made a list of the characters in the comments.
Thank you
I used to love days of our life, didn't miss a day. but is crap now.
I think it's crappy of people to call Days of our Lives Days of our Life. Lives, not Life.
I watched Days Of Our Lives for 38 years (though I don't know if childhood counts, since most young kids don't remember stuff). And I only know around 7 or 8 of the actors in this video.
very nice tribute!
I wish they would bring back Bo. Hope belongs to him and always will. They make the best couple.
"Bo" passed away in real life and I have seen a tribute to him and some others
"Bo Brady" is still alive and kicking as of today. He was on a podcast that I watched last week. He currently lives in New Zealand with his wife and daughter who is still in high school.
I never liked Hope. I liked Bo with Carly.
Bo comes back on beyond salem in season. 2
@@debbic757 the things people say lol he's very much alive!
