Chasing UP 4014 Through East Texas (9/17/2024)

Got up at 5 am Tuesday morning to chase Big Boy from Texarkana to Dallas. Due to several delays caused by mainline freights ahead, we only made it to Big Sandy before we called it quits. We wanted to hit it at some prettier, more scenic spots than shown here, however traffic following the train significantly worsened as the afternoon went on, making it extremely difficult to keep up with the train. Oh well. Enjoy!

The main freight that delayed Big Boy was in Mount Pleasant, it had a failed fuel pump and took them almost all day to split the train in two and get both halves away
