I don't think he really had a choice. When Sigmar was in power he fought for him and served him, but if the plane is now under new management...it's normal that he won't go back to a guy for whom it was so easy to sacrifice them.
You always hear about humans falling for or pledging allegiance to chaos in crazy times. My question is, is it possible for humans in similar circumstances, perhaps in the realm of Ghur for example to pledge allegiance to Gorkamorka? And does Gorkamorka have any human adherents? Just an interesting thought maybe?
I don't remember exactly where it's from but there was some lore about humans living in Ghur that revere Gorkamorka as god of the hunt, along with the regular pantheon
Great question, and absolutely! We know that mortals have also pledged themselves to Nagash and Alarielle, so I dont see any reason why Gorkamorka couldnt have any as well. While greenskins and troggoths certainly seem to be his favored children, theres no reason he wouldnt be called upon by humans for a bountiful hunting season :)
When you mentioned you are not sure how everyone got the word from Sigmar’s proclamation he was closing the gates of Azyr... I like to imagine he sent the Swifthawk Agents... who all ended up getting killed in their task or being successful and finding they were now stuck outside the gates...
I've had I idea for a while now for like... maybe a warcry warband or somethin, that's like a small tribe from an island in Ulgu who worship the gods of both order and chaos, or at least some of them. I have a very clear idea that Sigmar and Khorne would have a Athena and Ares-esc relationship.
I think there's enough (or maybe even too much?) of the whole "stand your ground, remain faithful, iF wE dIe, We DiE kNoWiNg OuR hEaRtS aNd SoUlS aRe PuRe" so I like that this king took the risk

I dunno about that. I think it's likely that Tzeench, Nurgle, and Khorne all contributed, though it's not unlikely one of the three was the primary donor. I can see good reasons for any/all of them being the main supplier: Khorne for the reasons you stated; Nurgle, who would happily capitalize on their despair and suffering; and Tzeench because they're rising up against the incredible power of Sigmar, and because they would make for a useful pawn in his schemes. My bet is on the Gods pouring their power into the horde on a case-by-case basis, with individuals most aligned to one of the Gods receiving that specific God's blessing. That said, it could be that the majority of individuals in the horde happened to align with one God in particular, so you might be right. This is just my headcanon, though.
I like to think this was a test from Sigmar, like if they didn’t renounce him a storm rolled in and the king and all his people would have been made into Stormcast Eternals. Great upload.

I bought and am painting my first ever model while listening to this, ended up doing the 8 point star on my chaos lord on karkadrak in retributor armor gold so now I imagine my chaos lord hunting stormcast just to melt their armor down into symbols for the gods.
Love this story, this aspect of Slaves (and your review of the start collecting) is what made me buy the box last week. I do have a semi related question though. The idea for my chaos lord would be that he was a former Stormcast Eternal who hated sigmar for being remade and not dying with his people. Is this feasible? Is there a precedent for Stormcast falling from grace and turning to the dark gods or sigmar just, unmake them?
could be wrong but im pretty sure the Stormcast are bound to Sigmar's will in a way. That said this is Warhammer, you can make up anything if you can make up some justification for it, maybe a strong artifact freed him of Sigmars hold?

Above anything else though, I encourage people to craft their own stories, so I say go for it!!!!

When your word is burning some of the people just refiuse dead. They start learn to fight and take hell to chaos maruders. Blood flow and Khorne was hapy. He bless them and they take a bleesing. I kinda agree Sigmar was right, too cloose the gate but also kinda agree why some that were left behind turned to chaos. It's more of a tragic story like a cmoic book villian that had crappy choice or didn't have a choice to make.
@@2Tough hope they adress this more in future books or battletoms like they did with Tornus the Redeemed. Also think the new Slaves to Darkness Idolators fit well those that were left and now want to destroy what Sigmar build

Being told to worship sigmar but see the world around him and with no god to answer him made him hate sigmar. I guess it's almost the same story.
