This was a "heartbreaking and horrific," murder of a woman by the man she cohabitated with and had three children with. I'm thrilled that justice was served in this heinous murder. Do you know whatever happened to the three children? Great investigating, presenting, backstory, illustrations, photos and videos, as well. Take care 🦋
Thank you!🙏Yes, our understanidng is that the three children were taken in by the aunt. A really sad crime. One reason it garnered so much attention was that it involved a "foreignor". The UK has had a love-hate relationship with france always as part of its history. 😉

I started watching your channel when you said you needed 1,000 viewers to keep going. It took a bit to get there, but it seems like its growing more quickly. And now, 5,000 is just around the corner.
THANK YOU! 🙏 Thank you for all of your support over time! 🙌 That would have been about a year ago...The growth comes in spurts - really great months and then not so great months.😉It is like owning a shop - hoping the wares you have will bring in customers. Sometimes you have a runaway hit and other times things you think will be popular are not as popular as you thought they would be (the chicken farm murder we thought would have been more popular than it was - ah well - we really liked it😉) 5000 subs would be grand! many of our competitors have over 60,000 subs, but they have been on youtube longer and also are backed by radio stations and companies. This makes a difference with their production. We are just a small team of three crime enthusiasts who like to share.😊Thank you for your support of our small channel! You will have seen several of our iterations - some more successful than others!😜 thank you for your continued support!🙌
As always I very much enjoyed your video. Something I have always wondered about and since it was brought up in this video is after the person was dead they were left hanging for one hour why? I know that this was a public hanging but it was the same way right up to the last hanging in the UK. After all there not going to become more dead? I thank you R.C and team for all of your hard work putting out these videos for us to enjoy. Wishing you all the best and hope that storm 2 will be cleared up so you can enjoy the Christmas lights and holiday. Take care and God bless 🙏
Great question!👍There were two reasons that we know of. The first was that the reason for the public execution was as a very stark warning to the public if they themselves committed the crime. The body, hanging there, was supposed to cause fear of the thought of comtemplating the same crime. In Georgian and victorian times, death was sacred - it was when you became enveloped into the kingdome of heaven. It was shocking to interfer with that rite. The second reason was to make sure they were dead! There were several cases where the hung person survived! The hanging 1 hour would ensure they were truly dead.😉 Going back to the first reason - the execution itself was aimed to be a warning and it was expected to be taken as such, but really, many an execution turned into almost a festival. There are many many cases where there are newspaper general reprimands where the people attending behaved badly and with jollity rather than the solemnity the occassion required. 😉
I feel deeply for his poor children. To lose both parents in the span of a month. I am glad he lost heart before destroying his poor children. The 19th century is no time to become orphaned. I hope their Aunt kept them or perhaps the brother of the Frenchman. To have fallen into public custody would be the last straw in this sad story. I admit I cried a bit when you mentioned their last meeting with their father. They deserved better than to see their father off to his execution. He is a fool for doing what he did. Leaving his children with no parents.
Well said!👍A very selfish act with no thought to his children. What we found astonishing was his repeated claims of his sole regret being not having done the same with his children and then, as you say, the affecting scene with his children before execution. The oldest at least would have understood what was going on. How to embrace the father who destroyed the mother? Our understanding is that the aunt took them in. The eldest would not have been so far away from going into service. Choices were few back then. 🤔
Poor Mary Ann!! She didn't deserve such a violent ending!! I can't believe Bourdier tried to end the life of his TEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER as well!! What a VILE individual!! I wonder what happened to the orphaned children?! Hopefully, they were taken in by some kind family members!! This was BRILLIANTLY done, Robin and team!! BRAVO!! 🌟❤👏💞👍
Well said -she did not! 👍The relationship had been difficult for quite some time according to her cousin. We believe the children were taken in by the aunt. The ledest would have been realy old enough to go out into service. It was really something to us that there was such a reported afeectionate departing scene between the children and their father - the father who continued to state that his main regret was that he had not done the same to this children. Just unbelievable.🤔
Yes, he did not waiver and really declined any kind of real defence. An extreme act for sure and one that would have had a long term ipact on his children.😔
@@jeffreycopeland8972 How very kind - thank you!🙏 We so very much appreciate your kind support! For Wednesday, we will truly be going back in time to a double event in 1822 followed by the infamous Christmas day Massacre at a Welesh castle - the inspiration for the "Red Wedding" scene in Game of Thrones. 😉

Murder stemmed on selfishness. So sad.
Thank you for sharing. 😊
very much so - well said!👍A senseless crime. Thank goodness the children remain untouched. 😔
Why would you do this to an innocent young woman? This is insane behavior!!!!!!!!.
@@Stephan-bj3lh And to the mother of your own three children!!😔

Oh dear. Poor woman. She was looking forward to a new life with a new love but was murdered for it.
Yes. We think that in this very sad case, some things have not changed for everyone. 😔
