I like(d) Gene. He always seemed genuine with the contestants and pleased when they won the money. You don't see that sincerity in many folks in 2020. It doesn't appear self serving.
In my mind Brett and Charles were best friend had dinner occasionally would visit each other and chat on the phone all the time and I’m sticking to that…..
i loved it!!..i don't know where i've been all these years, but through these MG episodes, i see where Betty's got one helluva an edge to her - and i love it!!.....
That rule, I believe, only lasted for that week. Next week, Gene simply said they're not doing that rule anymore. It was obviously an attempt for contestants to not pick Richard every time, but as witnessed in this episode, it got confusing when a contestant won more than twice. Once the star wheel was introduced, Richard's name got spun maybe 3 times. It landed on his name first, as most people know, then someone spun him again later that same week. I want to say the wheel landed on him one other time, but I also recall in the last 5 weeks or so that he was on, it usually landed on someone else. It should be noted that when Bob Barker sat in Richard's chair, the wheel never landed on him, but it came close once and Bob can barely be heard uttering "oh sh*t" as the wheel went just past his name, then saying "good! good!"

I went with OLD MAN River too, but my other 2 choices were Old Man Winter and Old Man Periwinkle!
Man, that Glenda Burke is gorgeous. I really enjoy watching this game show because the women were so beautiful back in the 1970s.
I was sooooooo happy when the contestants picked ANYBODY else besides Richard

It took me WAY longer than it should have to get Betty's porcupine joke.

Seventies tv was an era of experimenting with cast n audience that acheived unity
I'm surprised that "Old Man Winter" didn't appear in the Super Match
i did hear someone in the audience say Mickey Rooney..GR didn't ask the contestant WHAT they heard, and that was her answer...
The female guests on this series are better looking than the stars, sometimes.
And these two ladies are particularly pretty.
does anyone know what happened to Glenda Burke?
She's lucking out with easy big money questions..
no delis in Canada?
She was from Ontario, CA. And not very bright.
the lights were NOT on, so there was definitely no one at home..this is what you get TRYING to be sexy: you end up as dumb as a box of rocks!!!...

stupid rule - thank goodness it didn't last long
They all had chicken soup as answer, must have been some copying going on, unlikely answer..
They usually had a cauldron of fresh homemade chicken soup!
i said Lassie too.........

Why was Brett calling Mary Ann Mobley "the FAT lady?" 🤔🤨
Just say DELI!! I can't get over how dumb most of the contestants are....lol
