When a student does better than his teacher, the teacher's job is more than just accomplished, it becomes a bonus. The choreographers know it best to downplay their moves for the client they served (taught) who should shine in the performance. The choreography takes into account the artist and his song because he is the one who must deliver it. Shaun and his ML are highly respected in the field and Taeyang has also become successful in his. It's both a win-win situation, really.
