- Selector FYAH RAS, formerly of STONE LOVE, joined the Entertainment Report Podcast for a fascinating discussion about his career as a selector. Fyah Ras shared stories about his upbringing in Portmore and his early days in the sound system scene before Diamond invited him to join the legendary Stone Love. Respect but a nuh Fyah Rass alone was carrying Stonelove. Man must understand seh they are a part of the success, not the entire reason for the success. I personally love how Fada Pow is running the sound right now. Every selector on Stonelove has the freedom to play other events besides Stonelove events. Fada Pow not controlling anyone. Some of these selectors USE Stonelove and then leave and try make a name for themselves and nothing is wrong with that but don’t talk bad against the other selectors on the sound, just move on. As much as you think the greatest selectors left Stonelove, the sound is still doing ah yard and abroad, still in high demand no matter who come and gone, and you must respect the system and how they run things, starting with Fada Wee Pow. Stonelove will always be the greatest and most popular sound in the world nuh matter who come and left. When Rory left people thought that was the end of Stonelove but it wasn’t. The sound has evolve and still strong because of the foundation. Big up Duane Pow for understanding the business, getting new selectors and carrying the banor.
