I love it! I'm so tired of the same old keyboards, guitars, and other instruments. The next couple of decades are going to be fascinating with the incredible advancements in 3D printing, AI, and automation.
I dont think the guitar would be too practical live unless you are maybe a solo/two piece band. But i still really dig it, espaciallly for maybe travelling. I love being able to make music at home whenever i want to, its like a stressrelief super power, but if i visit family for like 2 weeks that immediatly gets lost. I think that would be great for thinks like that. It gives everything you need to make viby music while on the road or at the beach in between without having to pack huge amount of gear. Personally i love it, propably really nieche but still amazing
Yeah, that's exactly the purpose that I had in mind for that thing. Sometimes you just wanna start creating - and music like shoegaze usually needs lots of gear before you can start at all. It's really fun just to take a guitar and start layering spheres on top of each other.
@@BigSlimMoody.247 Haha. Thank you. FrankenGazer is also a funny name. I really hope it's not looking toooo frankensteinesque though. But you're right. It's kinda hard to avoid squeezing in so many devices with knobs.
The idea of making it modular is the winner here. I could see you designing a "guitar slug" consisting of just the guitar basics. Then something like a 5 part system that can all be selected by the player. I feel like this particular iteration is pretty niche use, but that's the point! I could see an Ableton controller version being crazy popular though. Being able to run a powerful DAW/control environment like that would be endlessly customizable.
Yeah, that also came to my mind. I simply wanted to create something that doesn't need Smartphones or Computers. As those take away a lot of focus while creating music. I think it's fun to have one device, nothing else, and just create ambient beats.
@@berlinshoegazer What you've got here is an actual new idea in guitars! The tech platform approach is really cool and could be incredibly interesting and useful in way we can't even know right now.

Hell yes. Found your channel a few weeks ago. Love your videos and this guitar inspired me to put some cheap pedals into an old telecaster! Thanks for your videos Und besten Gruß aus Lünen (einem Kaff bei Dortmund) 💜
This really came together nicely. Now I'd live to see you demo it. You have made a lot of changes to the idea. maybe do a comparison between the one man band guitar V. 1 and the new V.2. Both of them are very cool, though. Amazing job!
Please, this thing needs to go in production! Make a guitar brands and guitars like that, I would buy it! Super nice video and project, I subscribed and look forward to watch more of your videos! :)
What an innovative project you did! I have the sense it may be too weighty or top heavy, even though you worked on that aspect. Also, the nature of the materials may resonate differently than other materials typically used for guitars, making the sound texture its own species. Having the speaker in the guitar is kind of cool, but yet there’s a reason why the speakers are separate from the guitar typically. If I were to do this project, I would keep the guitar much more simple and light and try to use materials that would give a similar resonation like a handmade guitar. Probably because I’m such a fossil myself. LoL
😄 Thanks for sharing you thoughts on this one. Your concerns are definitely right. But the guitar is lighter than some Les Pauls I played. I was pretty surprised. I could make it light with less filling in the printing material. But for the next version, if I ever make one, I would go with light wood and a CNC machine to make it from one piece. Because now I know it works and everything fits in that body. This way it would resonate and sound better. The speaker sometimes tends to feedback, which is amazing and feels awesome when playing. Although I was afraid that would kill the project. It's a complicated experiment, but it has potential.
I would prefer playing pedals as well. But when you want to follow inspiration quickly without all your gear this is the fastest way to explain and envision ideas, I think.
Is there a name for guitar effect pedals that can produce that sound at 9:49? That sounds like some noises I want to me. Build is awesome btw, I love it!
@@Venom_Snek Thank you so much. The fx chain for that sound is: comp > gated reverb > big muff fuzz > digital delay. In my music with Unkenny Valleys I use this a lot.
Ive been considering something like this but for interfacing with a mixer for live dub reggae so that i can control effect sends for other band members
My brother is a reggae musician as well and also needs lots of effects to control live. It should be possible to realise an inbuilt Midi controller for that purpose. Could be cool.
@berlinshoegazer yeah that would probably be easier, im very much a hardware effects guy though, I think it should be possible to just bypass the aux send knobs on a mixing desk and route that control to a guitar but I'm still in design mode and figuring out whats possible at the moment 😅
i feek like that meme of all those girls making that stink face at the party 😂 you should check out the ibanez/korg chaos pad guitar. i swear its a real thing and not just a Mandela effect memory i have from huffing lacquer thinner as a child
I remember seeing that korg chaos pad on Matthew Bellamy's guitar as a kid and found it super cool. This might have started my nerdy brain work. But I think there's much more potential than just a pad that can make some scratchy sounds. And by the way - I live for doing stuff that puts the stink face on party people's faces.
