I think yours is the best channel that covers this game for the western audience. I still didn't muster the courage to start a chaos playthrough but still I've been learning a lot from your videos. Keep up the good work
started my first chaos run a few days after getting the game and i already can't go back to another difficulty, the doubled monster drops make the game so much more enjoyable.
your videos helped a ton since I found this game 3 weeks ago after having read english translated cultivation novels for a few years so I ended up playing 200 hours in 2-3 weeks haha
People like you enable my budding passion for xianxia/wuxia fantasy! It's often hard to find resources in English, as it's obviously far more niche in the west, and given that the language barrier between the romantic and sino-tibetan is rather steep. I essentially couldn't have fun with this game until I tried Chaos, and couldn't get anywhere in Chaos without your videos! I especially appreciate your Chaos content as it doesn't spoil any significant portion of the stories within the game, so for my first playthrough I'm experiencing both the best of the gameplay AND many of the stories/rpg elements. No pressure to keep producing or anything like that, I just appreciate that you brought all this information to English speaking players!
I am super Grateful to your videos ! They helped me understand the game better and enjoy it even more and even managed to beat the game on Hard ! Now I'm prepping for Chaos using your videos as guide and I am happy for these videos
Thanks for the tips, mate-it actually did inspire me to try Chaos myself. Speaking of helping English-speaking fandom of the ToI with understanding the game, though: despite what you have said in one of your vids, I think your accent is not a problem-I think you just need a good mic to up the quality and understandability of the vids.
I did play chaos but tbh it is extremely hard and i am not patient enough for following boss movesets. Game is already hard at nightmare, only people who like "completion" should try chaos bcz it is mindblowingly hard. Btw i have ended game 2 times on normal and nightmare each.
I also started with Normal and then went straight for Chaotic lol. If you could give some advice about my preferred playstyle that'd be great. It's revolving primarily on 3-4 stats: range, agility, attack and critical in that order, so Huo Shooting Sun(whatever it's actually called) trait is obligatory to me when creating a character and I spent hours rerolling to get a good combo with it. Always picking Fox motion and wide fire streams while experimenting with special and ultimate skills. I like fire core enough because I just bait mobs, throw bell over it and focus on different enemies but can't seem to settle on a good special skill. Oh and would you happen to know if one could have passive spirit swords/jo swords/dark swords along with water "laser" breakthrough skill? Picked that water skill on one of my characters and have been combining 2 of the sword skills on subsequent ones and haven't encountered water skill on those chars, which I found very helpful on that one character.
As long as it works for you I think it's fine. If you can progress with your preferred style, then it's good. Though I do recommend you to check out the fire build guide. If you are not using fiery flame damage amplification, there isn't much point to use fire at all. Water burst is a good rewrite destiny.
Decided to give this game another go after playing far too many hours and never finishing. So much dev progress since I last played. Chaos difficulty is much easier than I remember, and I flew through the first two zones (thanks in part to your videos). Now in late Nascent Soul content (with +900atk) and I am starting to struggle to progress. Not sure I would call chaos easy when in mandatory 5+ min fight, one mistake can lead to death and a reload. Anyway back to hunting for better mind books. Thanks for the content.
That's the wrong definition for "grind" imo. But I get what do you mean. Though it doesn't necessarily take much longer. As I mentioned, chaos force you to learn the game mechanic, and once you understand them, your damage will be much higher and battles take much less time.
@Fallenangel_85 Of course the HP difference is there. But I think you didn't get what I meant to say. Most people play very inefficiently before they learn the game. I'll use an example here, ignore the actual number. Let's say in normal your damage is 1, enemy HP is 10, so you need 10 attacks to beat the boss. Then you went to chaos where enemy HP is 100, you'll need 100 attacks, that's what you are saying. It's taking much longer. What I meant is that by learning the game, your damage should be 10, and it still takes 10 attacks. Or if you go back to normal and play it efficiently, you'll one shot the boss.
@@JoJi88 I guess it all comes down to start with high atk and then just keeping it that way. So you spent your time rerolling for that and are limited in what to pick.
@@Fallenangel_85 No no no, starting destiny is just a minor thing. There is no need to spend time to reroll at all. It's only affecting qi-refining realm and later on getting good mind skills is the way, literally said in this video only. At this point I get the feeling that you are just not ready to accept what I said and giving random excuses.
there are a lot of events that could kill the character at the beginning of the month, cant really save scum in game there! I quit 2 chaos runs because of that
@@JoJi88 okay, it does give you 2 save points to go back, this means I shouldn't spam save too close to one another to give yourself a month or two before the forced event at the beginning of the month. Not perfect but I'll try chaos again.
I played this game a long time ago, it was still in EA. I remember stopping because my hand was starting to hurt a lot. It was really complicated to hold the attack button (left mouse button) all the time during fights. Is there an option for auto-attack at the current state of the game? And I remember the boobs were REALLY well made!
Base game is good enough for me. In fact that's another thing I didn't mention here. Many people play with mods after the first run to experience something different. Imo if you play chaos, itself will be a very different experience from normal difficulty. And different builds play will feel different as well. But of course I am not against using mods, just not my thing.

I've been slowly stepping into Chaos mode, inspired by your excellent guides and playthroughs! Fantastic work and very much enjoyed!

Get 200 more atk and you won't struggle that much, also won't be mandatory 5+ min fight.
Less grind is only half truth, considering the fights themselves take so much more time to do.

There is a button on the top right of your save where all the backup saves are.

What? Just click the reload save button.
here is what i learned.. i'm never touching anything other than normal.. the end. i don't want to play a punishment in game skin.
