A very comprehensive telling of these events. It is a great story. In part, the controversies of the times make it so. Perhaps a better battle was the 1960 race between Roger Ward and Jim Rathman going at it "Hammer and Tong!" Point of fact I was born at the end of 1962. I, obviously, have no memories of either race but a great story is a great story to tell. I'm glad it was told. After reading some of these other comments I'll just say that America has always been great, but it could've been better. I still don't understand as a white suburban child why African Americans or others of color ever had to be treated so unjustly, so for them America wasn't great, especially around 1963 and '64. And why is that so hard for people to see that reality? I don't subscribe to the MT channel as I pay enough for it on cable TV to begin with. I'm tired of all the reruns of reruns and maybe should drop it, but I think other channels my wife and I like are attached to it. So I'm keeping it, but if given an individual choice...Let's just say they are not winning me over with only leftovers!

That's your favorite indy 500. 1982, 2005, & 2014 & were my favorite. Mario Andretti will always be my favorite driver since DP retired.
