I had a 7/8" dowel so I used 1" hole saw. So it depends on the size of the dowel :) Go with the hole saw 1/8" larger than your dowel. Hope it helps! Super excited you'll be making it ;) Tag me on Instagram when you finish :)
Hi! Great project. Just an advice. To avoid the wood being ripped when making the hole, you have to use some sacrificial wood under the board you're drilling into. That will avoid that problem you had with the first hole.
Thank you you for advice! More projects you do, more things you learn😄 I actually learned that trick way after I finished that baby gym. And just made a dining table from red oak last week using this method to avoid wood being ripped☺️ editing the dining table video this week, it should go live on Sunday if you want to see more of “immature woodworking hour”😅
@@IfOnlyApril It's called blow out. even if you drill a small hole with a drill bit, it will do the same thing to varying degrees. You do have an excellent work around with what you did though! A flat block of wood and downward pressure will help like Lucas mentioned.
I seriously doubt she would rip a 2 x 4 to get two 1 x 4s - she would need a table saw and would end up with one surface of each board requiring major sanding (unless you mean the other direction ... which would give you a 2 x 2). She's using 1 x 2 boards purchased from the lumber store.
Hi Logan! I'm so sorry about the music. At some point after I published it I got a copyright for music that I used so I had to change it and I guess the volume didn't adjust. I hope you were still able to understand. I have another video with a baby gym that I made for twins recently. It's the same concept, check it out!
Hi there! I apologize for inconvenience. A year after I published the video it was blocked by TH-cam with a claim for a song that I had on a background. So I had to add a "generic annoying song". I have another video for similar project - for twins. It's the same idea, the only difference is the rod on the top is twice longer. Check it out! I hope this helps
@@IfOnlyApril still good video but i bet your dialogue was both informative as well as entertaining and much better to listen to than what was playing over your voice Thx for the ideas
@@lanajacknichols8397 thank you! I'll try and remove the music at that part to have only my voice left. Let's see if I can do it! I appreciate your feedback
That's definitely not a 1x4". Looks like a 1x2.5" or something
Oh my! You are absolutely right! It's a typo😬 it's a 1x2"
Awe darn! Thought it looked not like a 1x4 so I bought a 1x3
@@kristiqle4277 I apologize for the typo, Kristi! I hope you were able to get right wood. Although it would work with 1x3" as well.
Just made it thank you!😊
I’m going to make this for my grandson today. Great idea!!
I'm glad the video was helpful 😁
Hello , great video ! How far down did you drill your hole on the legs ? Thank you !!
Hi! Thank you! Half the way, so 1/4". Then I added wood glue and a screw
@@IfOnlyApril great thank you , one more question lol ! How far down did you make your hole for the legs ? Thanks again !
Thanks for the helpful video! I will be making one tomorrow. I’ll contract out the hanging toys to my wife though!
Yay!! That’s great news!! I’m so happy you’ll make one! Share with me the final result :)
Do you do anything to prevent the inner legs from sliding?
Legs are attached with ropes so inner legs won't be sliding
Love it
Thank you so much❤️
Super cool!
Thank you 😊😊😊
Awesome! Thanks. What was the size of the hole saw or how big of a hole should I tell Home Depot guys to saw?

Norma Banda thank you so much, Norma! Yes, we live we learn 😁 I found out about this trick after this baby gym project :)
Where can I buy the wood? 😭😭😭
Hi there! You can buy it at Home Depot or Lowe’s or any lumber yard in the USA. Just google what is nearby 🤗
Love this, how I wish I can make one ☺️
I am absolutely sure that you can💪🏼😁it’s easier than it seems! Just start doing and enjoy the process🤗 I’m sure it will come out lovely😍
ААААААААААААААААААААААААА! Очень круто! РИЛИ!

She cut the 2x4 in half (lengthwise) to be able to make two baby gyms

i wish we could hear you talking instead of the music! 😭
also i was very confused about the outer leg not having holes because you showed 4 legs with holes… i did not realize you were making 2.

Hi again, as I mentioned before, I have another video and a blog post. Hopefully the instructions will be more clear! Good luck with your project!
Makes you wonder if it being that price should really be that. Lol. Not when it's that easy to make them.
Exactly 😁
Why can't we hear you talking... Isn't that the point of you talking to camera
does she know all of her commentary can not be heard over that lame generic annoying AI generated noise ?
