    Fun! What most people don't think of is that the larger the bar, the cheaper/ozt they will pay! I personally melt down sterling and sterling plate into shot, run it through a copper cell, After I dry out the slimes, I melt them into shot and liquify with nitric acid, filter, cement on copper and run that through my silver cell. Sounds like a lot of work, but you couldn't get pure silver crystal cheaper any other way (that I know of). It is all just so much fun, whichever way people chose to do it! Great video guys!

    Ive learnt a cleaner, more efficient way of making shot than this. A crucible with a hole in the bottom, heat from the sides, water bin underneath. When the silver is liquid it will flow out through the hole.

    Amazing cool video. Thanks for sharing. I would like to do this for much smaller quantities of silver. What equipment do I need? What is the technical name for the Gas torch? What type of metal are the silver bars resting on?

    • @CanadianSilverSaver
      @CanadianSilverSaver  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. There are a few ways to do it. This was a propane, acetylene mix. As for process at your own risk the silver needs to have enough water to cool long before hitting the bottem and enoght that the water doesnt boil. Steel grill from a bbq to hold the silver. The bricks help keep the heat in. Time, patience and some practice and you will be all good.

      @@CanadianSilverSaver Out of all the ways I've seen silver melted this is defiantly the first time seeing it done like this. After thinking about it, it's actually genius. This has got to be one of the easiest ways to break down a large quantity of large heavy bars into manageable pieces that can be used later for making other smaller objects. Fast, efficient, and only took the bare minimum of tools. Can't argue with the results either. Love learning something new these days. Thanks a lot.

It’s like watching Braveheart or Titanic, because you know it’s gonna be a gory end, and you’re stomachs gonna churn, but you still have to watch. I struggle to even melt down my 1800’s coin silver but bars…. That would feel like watching ASE’s or special privy Maples melting down or something. Definitely the most economical way to go with .999 if you’re gonna melt tho. Cool beans.
