So happy to see my people keeping the culture in this era of culture degeneration, how I wish we come together in restoring the once celebrated culture our ancestors cherished....I love your work.
Nice work brother Yuga Juma.is there a way people can support you to grow this channel. At the moment you are the only hope to revive the Kakwa culture one love,Yakan
Alu'ngase Yakan, For me it has been a mission I hatched from childhood----to preserve, protect, revive and promote our Kakuwa tradional culture in print and in digital media. I began with a extensive reserach on the Kakuwa (erroneously spelt and still being used as "Kakwa"), noticing and correcting any historical misconceptions in naming, especially places and things (including KOBOKO which is meaningless; it should be Ko'buko, etc), the language: how to write it linguistically properly, to develop sounds or letters of the alphabets used in the Kakuwa language, to produce a descriptive grammar of the language (parts of speech), and most importantly--to develop a bilingual (Kakuwa-English dictionary) that lists and defines millions of Kakuwa words in as many as 200,000 pages of print. All these works are ready, and will be officially launched at the foot of Kakuwa's legendary Mount Liru in February 2020. What we need right now is presenting these works to the larger Kakuwa community anywhere in the world. So far, Ko'buko District (and Toronto, Canada) is the center of this traditional cultural revival but I have contacts in Kinshasa, Ingbokolo, Yeyi, Juba, Kampala, Khartoum etc., and we are proceeding professionally and passionately. Thank you for your question/comment and for your support. If you want further discussions, please use my e-mail at kakuwatiyo@gmail.com, or you ca call e at 647-701-9393 (in Toronto). The website www.kakuwa.org is being renovated.
