I love how clear I can hear the Tetsuya Komuro style & influence that governed J-pop in the early 90s in the early work of my Minami. So many great female producers come out of Japan & started in this era from Minami to Masami Okui to Michiru Yamane to Yoko Kanno. I dont know of any other culture that brought up so many "one woman army" style super producers. Of course some are more diverse & have longer careers but women like Minami crafted a whole major lane that has yet to be matched. Like Tetsuya Komuro, her production is so instantly recognizable & like fellow TK style fan, Masami Okui, she took over the 90s anime game when it came to timeless opening/ending theme songs. Alot of people dont hear the link Im speaking of but its as clear as looking of Hiromasa Ijichi's early work. He's the guy who produced the J-pop group SPEED with the trademark all black soulful background singers on 90% of their work(something TK was doing alot back then). Hiromasa created the group HIM & produced the song Aquarius which on first listen sounds like a Two-mix starter kit blueprint song but only because Two-mix sounds like a sibling to TK music & Aquarius was clearly inspired by TK melodies. Keep in mind TK had produced pretty much every top ranking billboard artist at the time. For newbies who look into this & still dont get it, do yourself a favor & dont look up Tetsuya Komuro's solo music(which I rarely ever liked until his recent albums) but look up the bands & groups he produced from the early 90s. When he produced for a group he tended to produce the entire album so you literally have dozens of bands with dozens of albums each with dozens of songs per album to sift through from that era before you can truly know the TK sound I speak of(& its worth hearing). Theres a reason why he is considered the King of J-pop(though his sound got dated & pretty much irrelevant in the mid 2000s after the large girl groups had long took over his lane as J-pop's lead influence, around the time everyone was tired of Trance remixes...unless there were 10+ teen girls in matching clothes singing & dancing to it in unison lol).
Caramba, como você é entendedor das produções japonesas! Queria ter uma amigo como você que entende o que sinto quando escuto músicas como da Minami Takayama!
early 90's. Long before she took up the role of Kanade Amou in Symphogear. Her duets with Mizuki Nana are pretty nice, but her solo stuff is great too.
アルバム持ってたよ。この曲を始めて聴いた時、鳥肌が立ちました。みなみさん今でも大好きです。
Conan sure know how to sing
