Now this is what I come to youtube for. Real question: How do I build a portfolio to show potential podcasts/youtube channels that I am the right person to edit their audio or video? Should I focus on my own content creation as my resume (which is my current strategy) OR should I spend time creating edits of their content when applying for a position OR is there something else I should be putting my energy into?
Both are good. I’d try to get a few smaller shows under your belt who are more likely to take you on in the early days. As you’re able to add those to your resume, it’ll show bigger pods/channels that you’re trusted by multiple shows and hosts. I think it’s harder to start on even a medium sized show in 2024 without a solid portfolio. Might have to start smaller and work your way up!
