What happened to Jermaine O’Neal? There’s not a lot of info about the NBA legend since his retirement but his story after basketball is just as interesting as his hardwood career. Jermaine is from Columbia, South Carolina and he grew up in poverty to a single mom. If it wasn’t for basketball chances are his life would not have had a positive outcome. This video goes over Jermaine O’Neal’s inspiring story and answers the question, “What happened to Jermaine O’Neal?

His father did not leave him. His father moved to Columbia because he was on the run for a murder. Doing so, he went by the name O'neall. His real name is Jermaine Neals. As he grew older, him and his father had a good relationship. He also has a sister who lives in St, George S.C. Jermaine's father killed my uncle by accident. His father also saved my sister from drowning in Far Rockaway bay in NYC.

Here is another thought: the Warriors are stuck in a system that requires high IQ players to function. Worked amazingly well through the years with players like KD, Iggy, West, Livingston, Bogut etc. but I highly doubt the pieces they have now, and will have in the coming years given Steph's, Draymond's, Wiggins' and Klay's contracts, will ever allow them to play that system again with success. It's sad to see and I hope they won't give up their team basketball but I doubt they will be successful unless they adapt their style of playing to the talents (or the lack thereof) they have.

This story with Jermaine is a helleva great one to hear. I was aware of him during his early Trailblazers days. I was glad for him when he was traded to the Pacers and made a name for himself. Sure the Malice in the Palace is part of his history. No one can say that regardless of what happened that he would not backup himself and his teammates when it all happened. What’s inspiring about his story is that he carve multiple opportunities out of his financial worth and multiplied it ten times more. This guy came from a poverty stricken situation. He could’ve easily became another statistic of being a black man not making it out from poverty. He instead became a successful black man who created opportunities not for himself, but for others who can see if this guy can have the mindset to make it out of poverty, others can also.

Back in the days when a super star in the league averaged around 25ppg and was still able to reach the finals. Unlike now in days when you have Divas and snakes teaming up with 2 or 3 other stars to make it to those same finals. SMH 🤦🏻‍♂️ boy I miss those early 2000 nba days.
