As a player myself, it warms my heart to hear so many A-list players proclaim the genius that was Jeff Beck. And thank you for introducing me to Grace Bowers. The world needs more distaff shredders! Also, we all had Ovation acoustics back in the '80s; isn't that something?
Ann and Nancy are definitely among my inspirations to make music. I love how you included the performances by Grace Bowers, a woman whose name I've read but had not heard an example of.
I love her & Heart. It's because of her, I purchased an Ovation Acoustic. I'm also a huge-fan of Jimmy Page & Walter Becker. Her voice on: "These Dreams" is nothing short of Angelic. oNe LovE from NYC
Not really. She has miles to go to get close to that. The blues rock scene is littered with amazing talent that nobody knows about. Like Phillip Sayce!
Wow no one ever says Walter Becker! And Steely Dan had great guitarists like Jeff “Skunk” Baxter. But she’s totally said Neil Young and Pete Townshend before…
Todays"younger" players, male or female are magnificent technicians who can play as good as anyone, ever, but they lack the songwriting ability that set their peers and idols apart from each other. You can only listen to so much shredding b4 ya puke.
Saw Heart several times in 74' when they were a touring west coast club band, at that time they called themselves Silver Heart, and did the standard five set 9:00-2:00am club gig, and in set 2 or 3 they did a full 45 minutes of Led Zep songs, if you were blind you'd think Ann was Plant, and Roger (Les Paul & Marshall stack on 10) was Page, it was that good, I was able to see Led Zep 5 or 6 times in the 70's and Heart was better live.
That was interesting. Walter was such an odd duck when it came to guitar work that it's not all that surprising that he had this kind of influence. Same with Beck and Page. They were unconventional when unconventional hadn't quite caught on...
CLICK BAIT CLICK BAIT CLICK BAIT....AGAIN No where in this video does Nancy Wilson pick "her four favorite guitar players". There is a brief visual clip of an article that states her "favorite contemporary guitarist" is Grace Bowers. There is no actual corroboration or documentation to the channel's tedious overview of her possible/probable influences that any of them are her favorites.
IDK what to say other than this. you have a penis or a vagina. What does that have to do with the price of beans in China? You have a heart, a soul, a desire. You have 2 hands and fingers on those hands. Use them while being honest and true to your soul. Never lie to anyone. You are someone which means you also are not allowed to lie to yourself. Simple to say but hard to do. Try it and see :( life sucks but it also a blessing if you like balance. mother nature prooves it if you are willing to look and smell and taste and hear and experience everything in it's most honest form. I don't know how I just went from saying IDK to I don't know. Maybe asking questions do matter and seeing or smelling or tasting or hearing do matter? You only know for yourself the answer for yourself.
Crazy on you is unlike any Jeff Beck song. Beck was a lead guitarist. He played very little rhythm. I see no influence from him in this song. Steely Dan used mostly session guitarists on their records. Nancy certainly is talented but is pretty stingy about acknowledging Roger Fisher’s contributions in Heart - which were even more impressive than hers in terms of guitar playing.
@@BenPrevo Pease do a simple google search. “Did Jeff Beck play rhythm guitar?” Comes back with, “Jeff is probably 95% lead guitar”. Sticking with my original comment.

Nancy Wilson is one of the most underrated guitarists on the planet today. A master of her instrument.

She did not mention Lita Ford!

Who was the 4th ??
Jeff Beck, Walter Becker, Jimmy Page and Grace Bowers.
@@studionumbersixOhh we can count but didn't view it that way figuring Nancy influenced Grace!!?? I was about to ask the same thing 🤣 Peace 🕊️☮️
This is someone else's interpretation of Wilson's influences.
Still don't hear what everyone sees in Bowers there are countless female
player singers far more accomplished and much more interesting musically.

Jeff played a lot of chords -- very supportive player.
