Which chipset do you have? From what I read, the QCNFA765 does support it, but it depends on whether the embedded firmware was shipped with it turned on.
Literally was looking at spending money on tools when I had it in my hands all along. Thank you for always delivering interesting and informative content, greatly appreciate you.
I wouldn't call Steam's virtual keyboard "proper." It's so damned clunkly and limiting! It _could_ be brilliant if it was fully designed around typing with the touchpads, instead of being a copycat of smartphone virtual keyboards and their ilk.
I am glad I am not the only one who thought about this. I recently bought a Steam deck, and before it arrived, I had thought, if Steam OS runs on Arch, what is stopping me from using Kali Linux. So here I am, enjoying some content.
if i was new to your channel i'll say this is one of the best How To videos i ever watched and it have Clean Links Easy to download What an amazing video
you can run linux on a toaster. These days you can put an ESP inside anything, and there is your wifi. I guess some would say its so overt its covert, not at the price point. You can build a handheld and do the same thing for a fraction of the cost. It is a very nice toy though, for multi purpose.
Hello David Bombal 😁 I love your videos but when are you going to show a video on how to use microcontrollers to attack ethically wpa2 wifi ? Like esp8266 or esp32 microcontrollers 😆
Great video as always! There is 2 versions of the Steam Deck, 1 with WI-FI 5 and 1 with WI-FI 6E, can you please tell us if the WI-FI adaptor from both have the monitor mode and packet injection? Thanks!
And can you tell us if the WI-FI adaptor have a good range to capture WI-FI network or we anyway should buy an Alfa adaptor to have a good range? Thanks for your time!
@@JohnD0h_IT You can answer this question yourself: This is just a funny hack, but not something you would want to use "productively". Alfa, Panda etc. are superior in every way apart from inconspicuousness.
That was a really briliant ad! As of the SteamDeck, quite capable machine! I have a question, how can I find out the login admin password of a router? I encounter many situations where I need to make small changes to clients who have no idea of the credentials (and had their routers configured by others before), but I would rather not hard reset the router as to not clear port forwarding settings or settings. Could Kali help with this matter?
I remember I could do this with the iPHONE 3GS after jailbreaking it and installing CYDIA store. There was a Repo package that after you install it you could CRACK Wifi passwords from any router nearby. I wonder if this is still possible in 2024 since idk if Cydia still has these available.
I can agree with your statement. However, I cannot understand the main problem with the mass belief that Nintendo is capable of suing everyone. You know, why won’t anyone consider this option to collectively make a claim against Nintendo based only on the fact that by producing a device with a predictable hardware vulnerability, in fact, Nintendo deliberately jeopardized the protection of personal data of users of purchased devices (as for the unpatched version) ? In general, my personal belief is that if you are the owner of a device with a hardware vulnerability, then you should not worry about anything in terms of what you can afford to manipulate this fact. As far as I know, Nintendo has not recalled devices with hardware vulnerabilities.
its a nightmare with android, tried the rootless way with a new oneplus, termux & kex and couldn't get the damn thing to recognise the adapter. this looks much simpler, but very bulky.
Thanks David, this is awesome, one question I have. Normaly on engagements I would then run hashcat to crack the wifi password, what is the cracking performance like on the Steamdeck?
You know I actually had the idea of doing this but I forgot about live booting so this whole time I've been thinking that I'd have to fully install kali and lose the steam stuff

World's smallest Steam Deck or world's biggest hands in the thumbnail.
We wanna see u with chuck as soon as possible please
Forget devices, your laptop is able to do that with Linux older versions
If you carry a whole keyboard and mouse around might as well just use a laptop. Weird decision by you
@@MrZiad32 Whaeva. You don't needbilky laptop to do it. You can even use esp8266
Steam deck + dock station + mouse and key board + portative monitor and we have a nice gaming/hacking set up
XD, right?!
Why I bought mine too! Very discreet. Amazing device for many reasons.
Agreed. I'm really liking it :)
Thank you so much for all the high-quality content you provide.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy it!
I tried this also, a long time ago. I was so excited to see the WiFi card supported monitor mode.
Warning: Steam Deck OLED comes with a Qualcom chipset that DOES NOT support monitor mode
I've been working on it for a few hours. Should have read this first.
Used a wifi adapter in my Steam Deck OLED dock instead.

Thank you! I appreciate that!
The steam deck already has an Arch based OS. You can just run a kali distrobox, or include the blackarch repos AND have proper keyboard function.
I wouldn't call Steam's virtual keyboard "proper."

I didn’t know, until now, that the WiFi card on my deck supports monitor mode. That’s pretty sweet.
I was watching videos of people using their steam deck not something other then gaming, now got another reason
re brilliant, who ever thinks up the names and scenarios for the examples used in the problems is incredibly good, that humour really helps.
Crazy combo, gaming and hacking both in a versatile package👍

the first thing i did when i got my hands on the steam deck was downloading wire shark on the desktop mode
You mad genius, you. You were too preoccupied wondering whether you could that you didn't stop to wonder if you should. 😂
I’ve been saying this since launch. Glad to see someone tried it!
Hello David Bombal 😁
I love your videos but when are you going to show a video on how to use microcontrollers to attack ethically wpa2 wifi ?
Like esp8266 or esp32 microcontrollers 😆
Is this possible with rog Ally or with msi claw or with lenovo legion go ?
You can also use it as AP+Captive Portal for Rogue Twin AP attacks
Wow I had no idea that this was possible nice video david I really Enjoyed it 🤯🤯

With Kali on a steamdeck, can you boot from usb and still use the steamdeck as a steamdeck?
great but you need passwords library .... the one in kali linux is small

ok now i want one
I think only the LCD version can inject and monitor, and OLED can only monitor.
you could also build that on Steam OS as well :D
Thats cool, but I would still rather run nethunter, especially with satellite connectivity about to be introduced to phones.
Advice: use peppering and salting in cryptography and MFA and RSA.
Dude that's what I've been saying I thought about it but it's my only gaming set up right now lol
Thanks for the video :)
Love it ❤ same for legion Go working on direct install not on live boot
How about running Kali Linux on an unpatched Nintendo Switch? After all, this is also technically possible, just like on the Steam Deck.
Problem is you'll get your channel taken down by Nintendo lawyers.

No money for steamdeck. Still running a acer aspire 5253 2011 with parrot.
Great tutorial
That is very cool!
Who knew it has package injection and monitoring mode 😅
ha, i was thinking about using the steam deck in a similar way
Would you be able to use ventoy for this instead of etcher?
this guy with is thumbnail, is the perfect caricature of "you didn't look like your picture"
Need a modd sma ext antenna connector to the the deck next.

Can you do in a Rog ally ?
New video idea: Kali on a Meta Quest 3
I'm not ready to die until I see Kali on a graphic calculator
The TI-1337
Can you also run tails on there ? If you can I'm sold on the steam deck
I haven't tried it, but you could probably :)
Bro GPD win Max 2 is for Kali Linux 💪🏻
Are there any disadvantages to using Kali in Distrobox?
Are you ... Using.. a mouse.. with your left hand?!?!?
Some…people…are…. Left handed
You can load that directly to the linux without kali, just have to know how to install this.
Next up on David Bombal: The samsung hacking note 7. Explosive and hacking XD

Hi david sir can u teach firewalls if possible we have learnt alot from ur ccna and all other courses can u create firewall and ccnp courses too it my suggestion
Yes. Great suggestion!
This is fine and dandy but I don't believe there are GPU drivers for that APU that will allow you to run hashcat

Will it save any of my settings when I reboot it or will I have to start over everytime?
How do you make the SD card have persistent storage? I can do it with a USB, but no clue with SD card.
can you run both OS so you can still play and hack on the go or would it be better to VM Kali on the Steam Deck?
This is why I always say every gaming device have 1000 use cases!!!
It’s no etcher for windows portable! It’s just installer
Does the rog ally support monitoring mode and packet injection?
Can you also do the same with a lenovo legion go?
