I’m interested in a guy that happens to be in a wheelchair and came across this video! I subscribed and turned on my notifications. You guys are a great couple!
I'm 34, and I feel ya. I wouldn't say it's as high as 9 out of 10....in my experience it's closer to 7 out of 10. The fact of the matter is that *most* women are very superficial (no matter what they say, they are) until they hit 30-ish, and then their standards relax with regards to physical "types". I've had luck with over 30's, and with women from other countries. They're less superficial (in my experience, anyway) than American women. My girlfriend now is from India. Also dated Filipinos and a Colombian...and the experience is just night and day over American women. But anyway, the bottom line is when you find a good one....don't screw it up. Also, a woman in a medical profession is more likely to overlook the differences. They're out there...just keep looking and don't give up hope. :)
I think that there are enough girls and boys who can look futher than their nose. And i think it would be a shame if people rejected someone just because they have a disability and actually dont take any time to look at the person instead of any possible struggle. Some people are just forget that love has to be blind. And that a wheelchair, a white cane, what ever never is the person. Its just a mobility tool or something. The man or woman him/her self it is whats all about. I am so sorry that people are rejected just because a limitation. Its really sad. I would never do that. I have by myself some limitations not that very heavy i can walk see and hear. But my husband is very limitated. He also can hear, see and bearly walk. But the brain inyuri is very heavy. But let me tell you 1 thing it really sucks that you did not find you true love. And i really understand the hurt of rejection. But the person who did that to you has herself big disability and does not deserve youre love, kindness and time. She is not worth it. And please do me a favour dont blame your self and dont be insecure or something. Because you are just perfect the way you are and 1 day that number 1 girl see that and she will make you the happiest man of earth
I know how it feel like. I'm 21 and I it's sad to say but I haven't had a girlfriend just because of the reason that I'm on wheelchair. Besides from that, I have more than 20 females friends but they don't see how as a human you have feelings too.
what a well articulated video im a 33 old male who cant walk with cerebral palsy hearing people being honest warms my heart ive never dated or been in a relationship because girls dont look at me in that way a lot of what you talk about people usually arent comfortable enough to say this video reminds me to accept myself
Accept yourself be confident, and you'll find the right person.. No need to waste your time with someone who is only interested in the outward... none of us are perfect
Lindsay thank you so much! We truly try to capture and show that.. We hope that in someway We are able to inspire others with disabilities that they don't need to live their lives only the way society expects them too.
I have only been in my chair for 11 years but I thank you for turning me on to the terminology...adaptive.(adapted living)....it sure trumps the other terms....I love you guys.....
You are a great couple! Could you discuss more detailed and give us some advice about the difficulties you went through with your parents while dating, how did you manage and "resolve" it? I'm in the same situation with my parents too, me and my boyfriend (in wheelchair) started dating 4 months ago and we really take our relationship seriously. I would be happy if my parents saw him as a person and not only the weelchair. I guess there are more men or women in this situation, so it would be useful a little bit of advice from you guys. Thanks a lot!
@@AdaptedAdventures it's okay :) we are still together and finally three months ago we went home to my family and everything went really well. They loved him, and they could talk all day long about anything. I'm glad that my family acted normal, so my boyfriend didn't feel awkward at all. We are heading home next month and I am happy that we can go home together again, and even my parents can't wait to see us again. It took time for them to accept the tought, and I was certain that they will, so I waited patiently until I felt that the time has come and they could meet with him. I didn't blame my parents first when they have found out who is my boyfriend. I know they always want the best for me, but only I can feel who makes me happy so I have the free will to live my life how I wish to. Hope you guys are well too :)
So glad I stumbled upon your channel guys! Thank you for this video. You two are an amazing couple. I'm 24, I was born with cerebral palsy, and I've never been on a single date in my life. I've never been the kind of person to play the violin for myself, but sometimes it is hard not to think that the disability scars guys off. I hope one day I'll meet someone who will accept me and love me for who I am. I've had it said to my face by men that they "would totally date me if it wasn't for my disability". I mean..who says that? To be honest, it's just really frustrating. I'm happy to see you two found each other.
Gabriela, those guys.. aren't the kind of person you want to be with anyway.. Unfortunately the world can be filled with a lot of shallow people. But there is someone out there for you! Be you to the fullest our disabilities may be a part of who we are just like having blue eyes or brown hair, but its not something that completely defines us as a person!
@@AdaptedAdventures I totally agree. I believe it's a fact about me, hopefully not the most interesting one :) And that's why it buffles me that it seems like my wobbly walking is all people see when it comes to dating. Thank you for your reply! Wishing you guys all the best.
Gabriela, when I was 22, I was told to my face by a girl I was *really* interested in "You know, you are so handsome and sweet and caring and funny. You're everything I want in a guy, actually. Just not....lifestyle-wise. And I want a guy who's taller than me. Otherwise you'd be perfect." Which of course was code for "You're in a wheelchair and I want Mr. 6-foot rock climber and half-marathon runner." That was a body-shot to my confidence that took YEARS to get over. But I did date. I still do. My 20's were a mess of being friend-zoned, and at times I lost hope. But good people ARE out there. You have to keep looking and do whatever you can to not be bitter or sad.....as lonely as it can get sometimes.
@@caomhan84 Thank you so much for sharing this, it really means a lot to hear this from someone who actually gets what it feels like. It's just...the disability is definetely not the first thing I think of when I think about myself. It took me years to really accept it and be relatively confident and open about it, and to recognize that it's not what defines me. So it's just hard when, especially when it comes to dating, the message you get from others is the opposite. I do believe that there are good guys out there, but to be honest I am just clueless as to where/how to find them haha. I like going out with friends, meeting new people, I've tried online dating...and nothing has really worked. And you're right, I'd say loneliness is the hardest part. But I'm still hopeful :) Thank you, wishing you all the best!
Men who say that are much more disabled than you are. And they need drastic help from a specialist in crazyness. What a stupid idiots to say something like that. But believe me karma is a bitch and those people some day met karma. Stay strong girl. Mister right man will come into your life.
I feel happy for you guys I’m 15 and I also have spina...and I’m doing good I’m dating ppl but I don’t think I can ever open up to a girl when I get married bc I’m to afraid of what the other person is gonna say well I obviously still have a long way to go but y’all happh
You'll know when you get to that point with a relationship man... Believe me I had the exact same thoughts but Andrea's love for me is beyond all that that it doesn't matter to her.. The more you act like its no big deal and just a part of your everyday life the more the people around you will accept it as that. That does take effort though no doubt!!
That's awesome I am currently using a wheelchair because I can't walk due to a brain aneurysm and I I have a great wife and two boys who support me and I'll be going out with them often after I get my electric power wheelchair next week , I can't wait;
Andrea you are a rock star. You could, of course, be a movie star. But probably more suited as a heart surgeon... Your guy Kasey seems pretty cool too. From a T-10 para of 3+ yrs.
I was born with Spina Bifida Oculta, and I can relate 100% because I have those thoughts too but Andrea GOD BLESS YOUR HEART for loving, caring and accepting him the way he is ❤️ God bless you both... and may I add that my parents are the same way, they tell me that women will only look for me because of my money and not for who I am as a person but I don’t listen to them because that’s not always the case. There’s women out there that don’t see us like a “bank” only lol

you guys are the only channel that i have seen showing the way it can should be. people with disability need to fully live life.
