I find that the Tamiya's are more designed for scale appearance than for rock crawling performance. They make fantastic shelf queens, but you don't see too many show up at crawler comps.

Tamiya should've went original gears instead of synthetic nylon gears.also they need to drop the price way down on the rere's.the bruiser clones is kicking Tamiya's butt on bruiser sales!
Nice to see it will take some abuse. Don't see to many Bruiser thrashing videos lol. I would do the same but for what the truck is worth I'm not so sure. They are $1100 Canadian now! :O
I had a couple of Bruisers in the 80's to the 90's. They were cool back then, but by today's standards, they are duds. They are heavy, slow, way overpriced, and perform like garbage.
Tamiya trucks never die, they just go harder!!
Like a lot of tamiya stuff, its grip is limited by its stock, hard as rock tires.

Which gear broke? Was it the spur gear? Were you able to source a replacement?
Nice tires for "show and shine" but non performance i think.
I got a 1980 version handed down from my father, I'm not sure what to do with it, needs a receiver and I'm thinking about making it a modern 4x4
