I made this remix / mashup of Blondie's song "Heart Of Glass" with Miley's live rendition at the iHeart Festival.
Tried my best to "replicate" the "Edge of Midnight Remix" concept from Miley and Stevie Nicks' collab.

After listening to Miley’s version I didn’t expect Blondie to be so calm and serene
Well duh its “blondies” song🤦🏽♀️
Deborah Harry spoke the lyrics with her naturally alluring voice, Miley got a beautiful voice and she screams the lyrics, but Deborah speaks the lyrics and it instantly becomes oh so sexy. Nice tribute, but nobody can top Deborah Harry on her song. Even the young fans who know Miley's very fine version then first check out Blondie's version can immediately hear and see the difference.
That girl Deborah Harry's beautiful face was the poster of NYC's new sound in punk rock danceable music coming about and into the clubs in the 1970s.

I caught them live at the Merriweather Post Pavilion (Columbia, MD) back in 1979. (Were you even alive?) Debbie sounded awesome! I love both versions. I saw Blondie open for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers who opened for the Kinks in 1978 - she was incredible. I also love Miley's style. They are both talented, beautiful, and icons. Different styles (which is good).

Miley screams the lyrics, singing them beautifully, and sounds great. Deborah speaks the lyrics, effortlessly singing them, and sounds sexy. Remembering Blondie from the 1970s. Nobody tops the original.
Miley does do a fine job anyway you can tell she is paying a tribute introducing many younger fans to Blondie's .music. She gives a rocking performance, opposed to the laid back cool, punk rock danceable feel of Blondie. You just can't beat that awesome groove. 1970s Blondie brings back a lot of good memories. Younger generation gets a glimpse of older generation's nostalgia in this song. Deborah preceded other worldclass singers/performers Madonna, Shakira, Miley, etc. She is the best of them, all. IMO.

She wrote this with her co-writer and companion, founder of and a guitarist in Blondie. I think that Miley is doing her best paying tribute to Blondie. That is a nice way of thinking about it, I guess. It is really impossible to do this song and get compared with the original, Doesn't matter who else does it, you're going to lose to the original, Deborah Harry.

I would think members now of Blondie are really happy that Miley did their song, because it brings Heart of Glass to the attention of more fans, many younger fans. Also more money for them, let's face it. It's the truth and especially nice for the songwriters, Deborah Harry and Chris Stein.

Wow.They are two totally different type of singers. Both sound great in their own unique way. Of course, it's hard to bet an original, but miley brings her own style to it very well and i bet anyone that never heard of blondie or this song would think it was written by/for miley.
Miley sings with way more energy and aggression, which fits her, debbie is way more melow, which fits her style.... just sit back and enjoy both great artists 2:12 . Much respect to both.

It was sexy, impenetrable, and other worldly. She was perfection. She's a white gold masterpiece of womanhood, that today's singers lack. You don't have to tell the whole world your life story, leave a whole lot of it to mystery. Thats what Deborah Harry was in that era, a woman of mystery. And her voice was amazing. Blondie and Deborah till this day are so underrated. They moved punk into the mainstream.

There's something haunting yet drawing about Miley. At once disliking her but then... It's kinda like you know its bad but you can't help yourself. That said, I have a different viewpoint about Miley's voice. But first, OF COURSE the original is ALWAYS better. That's a given. Back to Miley... I think her voice is like smokey whiskey. Strong.
