Yes it's a lot of carries, but for context Saquon has SO many yards before contact this year. The line has been so good. The wear and tear is a lot less then when some others that it seemed like were fighting through 3 defenders every run.

Barkley didn't even eclipse Dickerson because he broke the 2000 yard mark in 15 games....addionally, Dickerson got the 2,105 yards in 16 games, so once again, its a moot point even if Barkley goes over 2,105 because it took him 17 games and Dickerson did it in 16. So, it's not worth the risk to trot all your starting O-lineman, starting TE, WR, and QB out there trying to break a record that's wouldn't be a record in the first place!! It would be fitting if a starting o-lineman, WR, TE, or God forbid Barkley got hurt and out for the playoffs chasing a Phantom record.

For those saying Eric Dickerson did it in less games remember Saquon sat almost an entire quarter after rushing 176 yds against the giants earlier in the season saying let the young boys eat he sat an entire quarter against dallas after rushing for 169 so if he does it in the first half against the giants he does it in less actual quarters of play

Are the Eagles chasing a Superbowl or a record? Chasing that record will more than likely get himself or a key lineman hurt. If Barkley gets hurt and can't play in the playoffs, your Superbowl win chances are gone....
Also, don't think the Giants defense isn't going to key on Barkley and you never know the mindset of just one guy that may want to take him out. The last and final thing is this, Eric Dickerson broke OJ record in 15 games, and Dickerson got 2,105 in 16 games. Either way, Barkley will always have an asterisk by his name just as Dickerson does for breaking OJ record in 15 games and not 14 like OJ did. So honestly it's a moot point for Barkley at this point.

@supakev6308 He can't really set a record, he really didn't set a record when he eclipse the 2000 yard mark because OJ did it in 14 games and it took Barkley 16 games. Barkley didn't even eclipse Dickerson because he broke the 2000 yard mark in 15 games....addionally, Dickerson got the 2,105 yards in 16 games, so once again, its a moot point even if Barkley goes over 2,105 because it took him 17 games and Dickerson did it in 16.
So, it's not worth the risk to trot all your starting O-lineman, starting TE, WR, and QB out there trying to break a record that's wouldn't be a record in the first place!! It would be fitting if a starting o-lineman, WR, TE, or God forbid Barkley got hurt and out for the playoffs chasing a Phantom record.

Records should be 2k yards in 14 game season, 2k yards in 16 game season and now 2k yards in 17 game citizen. Carries doesn't matter sometimes you get more sometimes less. It is what it is.

The problem with thinking too much about the what if, is that "Playing it safe" in situations like this has never worked in football. Because morale and momentum are the most important things in the game. If the team WANTS to do it, denying them will bring down their morale, no matter what they say on camera.
My Colts wanted to go undefeated in 09. The coach was adamant about not doing it. So we didn't. And we lost the Super Bowl. Because we went against the team that was more fired up than us. They did not play like they did before that decision. You NEED to keep your team's ego up and running. I will bet money they won't get to the Super Bowl now, and no one will say it but THIS is why.......
It does seem like fate. The fact that Saquon said he would sit out no problem is enough for me. Let him get it if he feels his body can do it.
