Love the testing! & man I’ve just gotten some Jades and put them on the AX, it crazy how some skates can alter the feel of mice! I love it. Love testing the water with these new style of skates. Definitely be getting some obsidians for sure to test.
This is freaking nerdy and I love it. Some points though: If the marketing claims are right, the material it's made of (UHMWPE) justifies the results. UHMWPE is used in industry on heavy machinery, and achieves very close-to-PTFE friction. So, supposed to have a little more friction than PTFE, but it's much, much more durable. The sound should be more high-pitched and louder, since it ~should~ be a more rigid material than PTFE. PTFE feets wear too fast for my taste on a Skypad 2.0. UHMWPE should solve this. Definitely gonna try! UHMWPE as a mousefeet has circled in the SkyPad's discord as a recommendation for quite some time now, and I admire that Skypad and Xraypad are trying it.
Also, sound test (2:13) is fine as long as it's with the same instrument and a direct comparison. But i'd try to keep the phone on top of some padding and out of the hard-pad, since vibrations from friction can affect the measurement. Still, cool content and comparison!
I wonder how these would go on a speed pad the likes of the Raiden in mid for example.. I love the feel of the Raiden but light mice with PTFE play extremely fast on it, these might add a bit of control 🤔
I don't have the Raiden in Mid but on my Xsoft they do add some control, noticeable especially on static friction. But these do sound pretty terrible on cloth :D they produce a very high pitched sound.
Hey man, great vid! I have 1 question tho if you don t mind. I use a superglide mousepad from pulsar, I am wondering if these skates are compatible for this mousepad too and if there are no issues whatsoever
whats the durability of the original obsidian skates on glass since some people say they last for awhile with heavy use since thats what im looking for ?
ohhh that's not bad how about compared to the obsidians cause I watched a vid and they said those should be as durable as the pros, is it worth to get the those or the pros ?@@jerrorr
You already asked about the obsidians in your first message :D But no one can really tell how much more durable the Pro's are, since it would require a controlled test that would last at least a few months per skate pair. I have a set of the original Obsidians going strong even after 3 months of usage.
I did my bad hahaah, thats good to know since i have the jades and they last 2-4 weeks thank you for the reply I cant wait to see more of these skates @@jerrorr
Tiger Ice v2 dots are the less noisy I've tried on my glasspad, and that important to me.
I see that these skates are new on the market and you upload a video instantly, excellent service.
Haha I wanted to give an unbiased review asap 👍
To the point and well explained, good stuff !
Thanks!
Mans coming in clutch with the reviews. Time to get normal obsidians and gulongs XD

The jades are awesome as well! I’ll have to do a full roundup at some point
Another banger review 🔥
Thanks man!
You need to test ultraglide brake skates, because i think they are the same.
Goated mouse reviewerrr.
Thank you!

great review, I would love an update on how long they last? I just ordered these xD
I’ve had mine installed for months now and the durability seems really good. They haven’t worn down significantly yet.

Yeah sure they are! They are a bit more controlled than other dots but I used these with skypad, superglide and the padsmith empress without issues
Thank you man, i ll order em rn!!
is jade skates good on cloth mousepads?
Imo jades are one of the best on cloth 👍
whats the durability of the original obsidian skates on glass since some people say they last for awhile with heavy use since thats what im looking for ?
I’d say they are at least 2-times more durable than regular ptfe, maybe even more

great review. btw how did you get that flat base under your gpro light?
Thanks! What flat base?
.. woops just realized the super light has a different base under it than my basic gpro 😅
@@cBtv3 ooh yea the normal has those lines on it!
Do you have any idea if these are faster or slower than GPX stock skates? Thanks for this vid I ordered them.
Don’t have a gpx with stock skates so can’t really say
Can you test the friction on other skates as well?
Yeah I need to do a roundup at some point!
How are these Obsidian Pros on a cloth pad?
Very very slow
@@jerrorr Perfect! 👌🏻
they are good in other glasspad?
Yeah they are, but for smoother surfaces there are better ones imo. The ghostglide cyclones are amazing for most of the glass pads
