I agree with the take on UK election system. In a bigger picture, democracy happened and it worked just fine. People voted and life goes on.
If anything, it's something to show to the authoritarian countries that democracy works and there is hope. I loved Mark Galeotti's ending words on his latest podcast about it. Democracy gives people hope that things can get better. Authoritarian regimes say that things could only get worse. Hope is the killer of dictators.

I think it would be a mistake to replace Biden. He is the incumbent and will pick up 10% more votes than someone that isn't. I don't believe the polls. The polls only look at people who are willing to talk to the polsters. Most independents don't give their voting intentions.

John McCain gave a beautiful concession speech to Barack Obama. He spoke about how historic it was to have the first African American President. It used to be that way in the USA as recently as 2008 & 2012. I know Romney did that too, his speech was just less memorable.

Prime minister in France is designed by the President ! There's no obligation for him to select someone that is chief of the most important fraction of the parliament. But if he selects someone that has not even a partial majority, that prime minister could be removed immediately by vote of a censorship against the government in the parliament. That's why, if the election of tomorrow generates a parliament with 3 blocs of nearly the same strength, which is plausible, the whole country will be paralized. A prime minister will be nominated and propose a government, but not sure they can pass a single law, not even budget ...

Motorcycle 'Triumph' on stage: That's the Priests with Rob Halford !
Metal and Rock have always been a political movement as well, not as much as punk, but still as those two branches are close and often interact (The difference is that Metal musicians actually know how to play their instruments, while Punk musicians don't ...). That was one of the things that fascinated me when I was young already: The lyrics were critical of political and society aspects going wrong. After all metal/punk has a strong rebellious streak, and they stayed like that.
In the beginning Rap started out in the same way, but over time parts of it ('Gangsta-Rap') turned into a parody of itself.

The Moldovan project for energy is right on,they are close enough to central Ukraine to provide excellent grid service.A solar farm would be a great idea that could be useful for Moldava in the long run as well.About the orange maggot ,the problem is the ongoing lack of journalistic honesty in the west in general. All major media refuse to do their job.The relentless attack on Biden(whom I have very little respect for due to his cowardice regarding Ukraine going back to 2014)completely disregards the real danger of an obviously corrupt and criminal candidate. The wrestling match that they called a debate was the ultimate disrespect for the American electorate.Biden can be the only choice for anyone who appreciates living in a democracy. Thanks for all you do man.Slava Ukraine!!!

Last i saw a 4th house dem had "come out". The ABC interview was absolutely appalling. Biden answered all the questions to my satisfaction and was just getting rudely attacked by the interviewer and commentators without any grounds. There really is only one answer he needed to give, that no one else can do what he is doing at this time, he has the contacts, relationships and knowledge. And he froze up in the debate because he "went against his instincts" - confirming exactly what I said, he was badly briefed. It's on record he was advised not to deal with the facts. And had been kept away for months. That would send me into meltdown too.

So no more cheap EU food imports into Hungry and of course visas now needed to go anywhere outside of Hungry .
All Hungarians living outside Hungry need to be made to return .
And the people of Hungry need to be made aware of why .

26:20 Although I am a relative nobody, at least compared to Adam Kinzinger, I made exactly the same point on Twitter on July 3rd: that the current squabbling in the Democratic party is a sign of a comparatively healthy party, compared to the Jim Jones's like cult the Republican party has become. If only someone had forced Biden to participate in at least one primary debate, this whole fiasco might have been dealt with a lot earlier. Now, I am afraid we are just one more "bad night" away on Biden's part from a total disaster for both the Democratic party and democracy in the United States. I hope I am wrong.

Interesting talking today JP, yes you are my fungal infection to deeper thinking. I have a point of divergence between us beyond the trash elf Badwhar. I will build on your commentary today:
1)You spoke a dirty and distributing phrase today, melting pot. This concept is the problem JP. As someone who grew up in the most diverse (multicultural) country known to mankind ( I affectionately call the land of misfit toys), the correct term should be mosiac (this is a uniquely Canadian concept one which we use to differentiate ourselves from Americans). Melting pot references forced collectivization of the common nationality and acceptance that all peoples are the same removing the scope and diversity which makes us all unique. Mosiac references the ability to recognize the diversity amongst people yet still maintain a shared identity. Here is the example people in the south just call themselves Mericans that does not fly in the North you are always either sth Canadian or Canadian sth. It is the degradation or non-introduction of the principle of the mosaic which has led to the problems in France, we have mini France here they do this garbage all the time at the provincial level. You get the othering and with that populism. Just my thoughts JP, as someone who has lived as an immigrant in another country for a significant period of time ( I will let you guess where) the concept of the mosaic is fundamental for a plurally diverse society to maintain cohesion.
    2) Further on immigration, yes you are correct to point out the need for it. We all guffaw at the demographic collapse of the Z, but we (western countries) are really in the same position. Immigration is necessary..
    3) Sneaky Pete was in Moscow before Whoreban showed up so he was up to sneaky Pete things, Baerbock has truth-piercing eyes so no wonder Sneaky Pete turned her down for a meeting as he would have been busted. As for Robert Fecal, he is gutless figuratively and literally, so what do you really expect. Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia are forming the Austro-Hungarian empire of unreliability. Just throw the 3 of them out of the EU and let them form their own common union and see how it works for them.
    4) I prefer Rob over Rod a better example here of a cultural icon.
    5) Ah China again, the hard reality here for everyone who has read this far. It is pretty common knowledge that their economy has hit stagnation and is receding now. This is compounded by the fact that Western countries have caught on to Xi's green exports trick. To keep even some people working in China they have to export to the Z. Until Western countries, actually embargo technology transfer to China and sadly end visas this will continue. I know you hate my advocating for food weaponization (the easiest way to make China comply) so I am trying to offer you a more reasoned solution more in line with your thinking. In order to stem China from this type of exporting you need to make it so painful on China that they have not choice but to actually work on curbing these exports.
Until then, it is just a replacement market and likely in Xi's mind tit for tat transactional business for the Western world not accepting Chinese electric vehicles.
    6) Toadkiav is beholden to both Putin and Xi. He is their puppet, maybe more Xi's now but still, he owes his position to Putin. It is a smoke screen nothing else.
I will just listen to the USA stuff, I worry very much about it now. There is a saying in the North that when America sneezes Canada catches a cold and I am afraid in a year we will catch pneumonia.
Sorry I lied. What ?? No more internet fun?? Well that is grounds for assassination of the orange menace.
Appreciate you and all your hard work. Thank you for the effort you put into making relevant content on the daily. Keep the solid, solid JP.
