I'm working in Siggiewi, and I appreciate much the place whenever I'm walking around the streets, as well as people they are very warm everywhere here in Malta❤
So cool. I’m from Siggiewi but living in the USA now. The hairdresser shop at the beginning was my wife and my first house when we got married. Marilu’s is my cousins restaurant. Thank you for showing our lovely village to the world
Please please go to the same restaurant in Siggiewi at Christmas time or during the Festa of San Nikola. You will be amazed at the lights decorations on the parish church.
I’m an Aussie with Maltese parents and I love how you express your passion for Malta, it makes me want to go back and visit. Love watching your videos 😊
Siggiewi is my hometown ♥Thank you Alex for finally visiting the city of Siggiewi, aka Citta Ferdinand!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳 Please try to visit on Maundy Thursday 6th April 2023 the main square and Laferla Cross for the annual 'fjakkolata'.
Hi Alex that was an excellent video and what a beautiful Maltese village. I really enjoyed watching and thankyou so much for making it. you have a real talent for making videos.
You are absolutely right alex we are all for progress but the island of Malta is known for its great character and charm in its architecture I have been going to Malta since 1986 and hope they don't change too much as the older style of buildings are beautiful excellent video as usual alex 😊
Thanks Alex for a SUPERB video. I was born in Siggiewi and live in Australia. I have been back a few times and I really love Siggiewi as well. I am thrilled you liked it too. Zurrieq is lovely too. Take a trip to Ghar Lapsi when its a bit warmer and its worth a visit. Take care Alex.
Hi Alex from what I heard from my parents back then the Laferla Cross used to be surrounded by glass and during good Friday they used to put lanterns inside the cross. Nowadays as a tradition people scatter flame torches around the Laferla hill during good Friday Eve. It's an event you should visit. Even pageants that are related to passion of the Christ are hosted there
Gorgeous city. Stunning church. Yes I agree that the older buildings are much more interesting than anything new. Beautiful panoramas. Reminds me of when I first visited the stations of the cross at Ta Pinu with the views of Gozo all around. Stunning!
Hey Alex! If you are into historical structures/architecture, maybe you should visit the Megalithic Temple of Malta. Apparently it's a site that is man made thousands of years ago. I'm going to visit it when I move over to Malta soon.
@@AlexinMalta Oh yes, please visit the Sleeping Goddess at The Hal Saflieni Hypogeum. We visited in 2010 and it was wonderful! We are hoping to come to Malta soon, possibly to move there in about a year. Love your channel!!
Thank you Alex Love Siggiewi Żurrieq especially Qrendi where my father comes from. When I was young I spent a lot of time in Qrendi. I am now 66 and in 2013 I went back to Malta and spent a lot of time in Qrendi. Just Loved it. I wish I can come live permanent But we Have kids and grand children it's hard to make a move. Alex thank you please once in a while show us these villages just love it.. Thank you Regards Chris. I live in Melbourne Australia.
Alex! You are avoiding me big days. I was shouting your name in Valetta, Sliema, St Julian's and all around the coast, sadly just heard an echo. Siggiewi is a beautiful place to visit. Apart from Maltese climate Ferdinand's restaurant is really outstanding place to have a meal. Highly recommend!
Good one Alex!!! Congrats for your interview on malta tv. I would like to know if you are going to make cities comparison. In particulare the one i asked you some time ago. The comparison sliema Vs st julians. Please let me know. . Congrats again you are doing very good job.
I love those 3 areas but Qrendi is my number 1. Can you do a video on Birzabuga (sorry for the spelling). I'm familiar with only the beach area which is beautiful if you don't look at the shipping port. Lol
I am glad you outline the contrast of the architecture. I think today's architects can throw away their licences as they are responsible for destroying the island with soulless buildings 😢 happy you appreciate the work of our ancestors .
Hey Alex! Thanks for the info! Regarding cars, i was wondering if you could make a video about car agencies are there, SH cars and car insurance!thank you!take care!
Alex this is a very beautiful video kindly keep making videos Like it because it's very informative kindly write me the spelling of the City you introduced in this video anyway it is amazing.
@@AlexinMalta Alex, I am unsure if you remember me, I am the one who comments on TH-cam videos very rarely (I mentioned this once on your video). I am going to come to Malta on a visit visa in May, do you think we can meet up once from your busy schedule? 😊
APART FROM BEING HISTORIC, "SIGGIEW" IS ALSO QUAINT WITHOUT DOUBT.. That church, like many others on the island, is a Architectural Masterpiece ⛪ 😲. I believe the painting of "San Nikola" thereat is by Mattia Preti 🇮🇹 🎨 🖼. What happened @ 14:10? 🤔 😇 😂🤣. Please tell 😂. Anyhow, that was an amazing tour of SIGGIEWI 🙏. THANKS ALEX 🚶 🎥 👏 Cheers 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ™
Hehe thanks John. What happened, well, i was with 2 friends of mine, and as soon as i started recording i turned and i saw my friend in the corner hiding from the camera, the image was so funny as it came unexpected and he had a psture like a guardian😅
Just picking on a comment you said that Sliema is only modern .. it isn't ... Personally I think that while the modern side of Sliema is a dime a dozen like anywhere else in the world, there's the other face of Sliema, some of which is being lost, but some of which is still preserved. There's many characteristic town houses and buildings there ... Rudolf Street is a prime example with intricate moorish architecture on one side and the Anglican church on the other. Not to mention Balluta Buildings and Balluta Church (though that's technically St. Julian's), or the recently renovated imperial hotel. St Julians still has a couple of old streets as well. Of course these towns can't be described as quaint anymore. But they do have their own gems which are less easy to spot among the towering buildings but they're there. Actually the streets of Sliema off the waterfront still retain a strong Maltese character. Maybe video idea for you: looking into old characteristic architecture in Sliema/St Julians, both buildings which have been restored in their old character and old buildings which have been integrated with the modern. 😉
Yap i did a video comparing the untouched part of Sliema with the modern part, unfortunately the modern part is dominating the preserved area. Thank you for watching 🤩❤️

Hello Alex, I love your videos, and love Malta. I understand English is not your first language but there is a mistake you make often that I am surprised someone has not helped you correct. It is the difference between 'It looks good" and "it looks like this". If you do "look like" it is a comparison between two things. If you do just "It looks xxx" it is a statement about how it looks. You should not say "we want to see how it looks like". I am sure I will get a lot of shit for posting this, lol, but hopefully this helps!
