    I’d love to hear the V7 with just an acoustic amp like the Fishman Loudbox or Boss Singer Pro. Seems like that would be a much more likely use of the microphone. My Sweetwater rep keeps pushing the V7 even as I consider more expensive options and I hear great reviews everywhere

    Is this mic suitable for studio vocals besides live vocals ? I know it’s preferred to record vocals on a condenser microphone but I do not have a professionally treated room to work out of. I’ve just heard so much great reviews on this mic I’m curious if I can use it in studio besides live vocals. I have a very processed vocal sound autotune/compressors/reverb/delay/doubling etc

    That is roughly six grand of equipment the signal is passing through before it is recorded. It certainly sounds beautiful, but is not a typical set up outside of pro studios.

      Of course, very much agreed! We don't always have access to gear like that, but when we do it's certainly fun to use. And in this case, the CL 1B compression was only used a tiny bit, and didn't contribute much to the overall tone. And in case it's of interest, our usual video voiceover chain is an sE2200 (in a Reflexion Filter) into a Universal Audio Apollo Twin interface.

    It really does sound good, but you have $5,000 worth of equipment between the mic and the recorder...think that might just have a little to do with it??

    • @seelectronicstv
      @seelectronicstv  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was a great signal path of course, but plenty of our customers have achieved excellent results with their V7 plugged directly into much more affordable interfaces or live sound equipment! We just happened to be in a studio with great high-end gear for this recording, so we used it. But we stand by the V7's performance no matter what it's plugged into!
