- Dream Hammock Sparrow Gear Sling and Peak Loft
After the hammock comparison video, I received a lot of comments about additional options that Dream Hammock offers for additional storage. I decided to purchase a gear sling, and send my hammock back to have the peak loft added.
Dream Hammock always does a great job!
See this is one of the things for us beginners that need to learn is how you are so far to one end of your hammock. About scrapping two trees to get us in that particular lay. Between you and your Channel I have been watching shugemery so that I can learn all I can the right way. Also I will let you know about the new pinnacle Ridge hammocks and the changes that they have done. Always enjoy the videos keep up the good work. What I mean is how to strap the trees so that you are in this particular physician. Thank you
Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. It takes some playing with the strap positions and getting in and out of your hammock to get the lay just right.

Hi Mark, what are specs on your Sparrow? Is it a 10' or 11' ridgeline? Is it wide like your Raven or the standard width?
It might be nice to do a comparison video of this one to your Raven and cover the weight differences. Dream hammocks' website doesn't have much information on weights so it's hard to tell how much they're hammocks weigh from their site.

My Sparrow is 11' long and 62" wide. I have the Darien, not the Raven, but I should probably get one of those too!
Tony Fleming Go back to the DH website. Then look for the word “Info” at the top. Click or tap that and a menu will show. Look again for the words “Hammock Calculator”. Tap or click on that as well. Now you will have all the answers you seek regarding weights of any and all of the DH hammocks. Your welcome! Be sure to check out additional hidden goodies in that menu bar up at the top of the DH website as well, because there is much more than just that!

Can you open the gear sling all the way and keep a backpack in it to use it like a gear hammock? I've got one of these in my order already, I just want you to spoil the surprise for me before I get it and test it out myself.

Is this a dedicated feet or head lay?
Yes, my Dream Hammocks are asymmetrical. However, I do believe you can contact them and get one made that is symmetrical. Thanks!
Which one is better Darien or Your Sparrow?
Depends, for backpacking I prefer the Darien, for camping the Sparrow is a little more comfortable and has more accessories. I also have a winter top cover for the Sparrow.
