  • Yes...I have listened to this several times because it is awesome. I like this band more and more and more and you get the idea! It is a rare thing for a person to witness a band like this stroll onto the scene, survive not being able to do shows and see them grow as a band. Nemo is a super-group, comprised of know musicians that happened to hit it off and support each other. It is awesome to see.
    As always, please check out Nemophila's site and videos! buy their merch if you like it!

    Wait, people are unsatisfied with this song and Nemophila as a whole?! Seriously? I love them for carving out their own sound that doesn’t follow any other band. Sure, some of their songs have that “Nemophila” structure, but to me it’s a good thing. Just look at Band-Maid, which is my all time favorite band, as many others here, but they most definitely have a structure/sound they follow for many of their songs and you don’t see us complaining. Power to Nemophila for carving out their own sound and uniqueness in the metal genre!

    Nemophila my favorite band. They have leap frogged other bands. This song is incredible. Tamu just incredible with fills, rolls, triples, double kicks. And in boots. Mayus diversity in vocals. Her beautiful cleans smoothly in and out of harsh screams. The guitar work is great. Haraguchi san holding it all down. Great song. I love the finish, hard and banging. Their Zepp show was incredible.

    Awesome song!!!! Another one that Saki wrote the lyrics for!!!! Saki and Hazuki killing it with their guitar 🎸 work and Tamu on drums 🥁 just beating them like they tried to steal her husband!!!! As a drummer myself I really want to know how she can play in those platform boots she was wearing!?!? Haraguchi San just slamming that bass as always!!! And Mayu!!!! Well it's Mayu!!!! I think that says it ALL!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE LADIES!!!!💞💖💞🎸🎸🥁🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘🔥🤘 GR8 reaction bro!!! Thanks 👍

    NEMOPHILA is amping up everything to do with being a top-tier band. EPIC'ness of the music aside and just focusing on the production of this MV and they are really making a statement here. This band is serious about their craft and are not messing around. The have come light-years from that studio demo and they are shooting straight to the top. 🌸✨️🌠

    There are people talking shit about this song? I swear, some people are only happy if every song by Nemophila is Revive. This song fucking rules.

    • @MaartenT
      @MaartenT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To be fair, Revive isn't really what I would go for as my favourites by them. Not by a long shot. I would say this one is close to Revive for me.
      I also don't really dislike this one (A Ray Of Light on the other hand...), but I do prefer a good bunch of other songs by them over this one. I would say this one is in the middle, probably a bit closer to the top.
      But give me Hypnosis, Raitei, Oiran, Sorai, 鬼灯, Blooming and Dissension over Revive and this one any day of the week.
      Edit:
      But I don't really understand people talking shit about this one either. I am not a huge fan of the more poppy chorus, but that's just personal preference. It doesn't make it a bad song or anything like that. Taste is a weird thing that can be very different for different people. I will always do my best to not call a song bad or shit on it. I really don't like A Ray Of Light and I have plenty of things to say about why I don't like it, but I wouldn't call it a bad song either or say that people who like it are crazy. I understand why people like it, it's just not something I like in music.

    The more I listen to ADABANA the more I love it. It may be my favourite from them in place of HYPNOSIS. I was disppointed by A ray of light so I had even more expectations for this one and damn they surpassed them by a looooot! This song is so good it's not even funny! Best Japanese metal song of 2022 for me so far and it's not even close. Everything is absolute awesome: the leads, Mayu's vocals, the lyrics etc... but man that whole bridge WTF?!? 50 secs of pure greatness with kick-ass guitar solos! That vocal section from Mayu leading into the solos.... fucking BRILLIANT writing. You expect it to climb in tone because that's what we're conditioned to hear and yet they take her vocals... and the guitars/drums and go down the scale with these "sour notes" (I don't know the musical term for it) that lead into Tamu's crazy AF dum fill followed by Hazuki and Saki just fucking flexing on you. GD this song is brilliant.

    for NEMOPHILA to come out with the a new song (new single) after this, that is better than this ADABANA, I think Mayu, 'Chucky', Hazuka, Harachan and Tamu have to sell their souls to the devil. That's how good ADABANA to my ears. NEMOPHILA rejuvenate back my love to heavy metal music. I slowly change my music preference since mid-90s, and this band for me is like meeting back my old flame (of heavy metal music) after 28 years. My unpopular opinion... my friends keep telling me 'maybe NEMOPHILA musics are more suitable to my ears, and for other people, they prefer other Japanese all female bands because other bands are more suitable to their ears'. I have to disagree with some of my friends here. For me NEMOPHILA through this ADABANA and previous single A Ray of Light... seals its status as the best Japan all female band and NEMOPHILA already put itself in its own league. NEMOPHILA is UNTOUCHABLE (with these last two singles). Disclaimer: Please, Im not saying other Japanese all female bands are not good. They are very good as well but NEMOPHILA is in its own different class. As simple as that. Cheers.

    First this is one of the best Metal songs i have heard period going right back to the 80s . It has every thing in it .It is dark moody and uplifting all at the same time .There is so much going on musically with all of them yet it all fits seamlessly Hara's Bass is higher up in the mix yet blends in with Tamu who goes Animal in this with some crazy off beat stuff the two ladies on guitar are doing so much the entire song its ridicules then the soloes start with Tamu we get a mad solo followed by Saki and Hazuki showing us just how good they are .The brake down is pure darkness descending into the soloes perfectly where Saki and Hazuki play in there own styles with there own identity yet fit . I love this song and can not get my head round why there are people who want to listen to just one style with Nemophila there 100% original and that rare in music today .

  • @brunolheritier8829
    @brunolheritier8829 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    That's it. Nemophila 2.0 just landed on Earth. Since the previous MV "Ray of Light", the quality of the production is on a higher level about visual aesthetic, video and audio recording. Individually and as a band, their talent is out of this world. Since I discovered the band a couple years ago, I immediately considered that Tamu and Mayu was the backbone of the band. Saying that, I absolutely do not diminish the other members (Hazuki, Saki and Haraguchi) who are all of them insanely good. No question about that. But, for me, Tamu (because of her drum play and style) and Mayu (because of the multiple tones of her voice), lay down the foundation of the band's musical style.
    Then, I would like to complete one of your comment about Tamu. You are absolutely right. She is a studio session musician, and involved in the music production and recording studio INSPION located at Tokyo with some others highly talented musicians, like Daisuke Kurosawa. Speaking of that, I am pretty sure he's the guy behind the laptop at the beginning of the Linkin Park cover video by Nemophila. And I have no confirmation about that, but INSPION could be the studio used by Nemophila to record their covers, and some of their tracks.
    About Tamu, her ability to play high level drums on multiple musical genres explains a lot about her insane technical skills and her musicality behind the drums. As an example, you should really check out/react to the track "Cytus II" written in 2018 by the INSPION band (th-cam.com/video/kwsciXm_7sA/w-d-xo.html). These track is absolutely fire and stunning because of its musicality, intensity and speed at the same time. To be honest, I would have pay a lot of money to be in the studio that day.
    And you can also check the drum play of Tamu on the same track recorded in April 2022, so 4 years later: th-cam.com/video/MsX_10A-Lso/w-d-xo.html.
    Finally, it could be really cool to have a "two in a row" reaction on these ones.
    Enjoy! 😉
    PS: How could the next release of Nemophila be better than this one??? 😲😭 Can't wait...
    EDIT: inspion.co.jp/en/staff-en/ (Tamu's profile in the "Artist" section of the INSPION studio staff page).

    Man, you know Ryan, I can hear the negative comments in my head. They’re probably along the lines of, “…it’s not brutal enough” or “…it’s slow”. These are folks who only want or tolerate that one dimension that does it for them. This song has blazing lead fills laid over a heavy as Hell doom rhythm by Tamu and Haraguchi-san as it’s backbone. It’s multifaceted composing at its finest! If someone wants only 1000% aggression and brutality 100% of the time, Dying Fetus or Deeds of Flesh should do it. Agree with your comments on their progression, musically their songs have been all over the place so far, but they are still so new and it takes time even for great bands to find their style. The way the industry is moving (towards singles for streaming instead of focusing on albums) could be a factor too. Having said that, adabana would fit very nicely on an album with hypnosis.

    • @MaartenT
      @MaartenT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They released the album Revive at the end of last year and Hypnosis is on that album.
      They are currently rerecording an English version of the album as far as I know (or maybe they are already done), so it will be on that one as well. Not sure when it will release, but I believe it's not that far off.

      I didn't even know they were released, I am surprised I didn't see anything about it. I am actually unsure why they would even release an English translation in the first place, but I guess they released the Oiran Extended Edition for Western audiences with a translated Dissension track as well.
      So I don't think it adds a lot for people who are fine with them singing in Japanese, but it might work for people who prefer Engelish lyrics (I am sure there are plenty).
      I don't care either way since both are not my native language anyway and I don't really care which language a song is in. I do still hope they are not 100% switching to English for their upcomming songs as I it usually is difficult to understand anyway for a lot of the Japanese bands I have heard who only sing in English. That being said, Mayu tends to do a great job for not really knowing English (but again, that comes from somebody who's native language isn't English).
      Edit:
      They only release it on streaming services and limited vinyl as far as I can see. I was thinking of buying a US version CD copy, but I guess they decided for me that is not going to happen.
      Their website (which changed again) doesn't even have any info on it either as far as I can see. What as trange decission. I hope they don't get screwed over.

If it doesn’t fit in to their pigeon holed genre belief they just label it as bad, or it doesn’t meet up to their expectations. Here’s a paraphrase of a quote I firmly believe in. “Having great expectations results in having great disappointments!”

    Since "DISSENSION" (ok maybe "REVIVE") I didn't like their songs as much as their previous ones with the exception of "Demon Light" which was very catchy. For me, songs like "Rollin' Rollin'" or "FIGHTER" have an amazing intro but the rest of the songs are not as impactful. And I think that "FIGHTER" as a similar intro as "You Could Be Mine" or "DICE" but it's even better in my opinion.
    I really like NEMOPHILA's "B-side" songs "Night Flight", "Blooming" and "Breaking Out" and I wish they release an EP for these songs.
    BUT, "ADABANA" is a great song, even if the structure is simple, the instrumental breakdown is SICK! The solos are great (as always) but Tamu is the MVP for me. She's so amazing! I also really like Mayu's vocals on this song, her harsh vocals are really good.

    • @napodyna6981

      The Japanese in the screaming sections seems to be Romaji transliterated. Here you will see old literary expressions, some of them containing idioms and words taken from classical Japanese literature. In the first screaming, for example, "Shogyomujo no kotowari (the truth/principle of the impermanence of all things)" is taken from the beginning of the famous 13th century classic literature "The Tale of the Heike," which describes the rise and fall of the Hei-ke clan.
      I think an example of a literal translation for the part you mentioned would be like: "The vast and the bottomless of the present world, cheers!"

    Not my favourite by them since I am not a huge fan of the slower poppy chorus melody, but I like it way more than their previous one, which really disappointed me because of the way they used electronics on almost everything. I do really like the part from the drum solo until after the guitar solo though. So I certainly enjoyed this song the couple of times I have heard it.
    I do still prefer most of their earlier songs over most of their newer ones though, although Hypnosis is certainly among my favourites, so I am getting more and more the feeling that they are growing away from what I loved about them the most when I first heard them and they are not my number 2 Japanese band any more because of that. That being said, I prefer bands making the music they want to make and it might be that the more aggressive style that they did in the beginning isn't really them, which I am totally fine with.
    If I start to really dislike everything they do, I will just stop listening to them and that's ok. I really think it's really important that bands do what they want to do instead of catering to fans. I am also in no way close to that point and I actually quite enjoyed their live streamed show 2 weeks ago (this song premiered on that tour, so I already heard it on there). I am looking forward to their next single and their true next album, not necessarily the English remake of Revive, which I might buy anyway, curious what they are going to do.

    NEMOPHILA's repertoire is gradually increasing, and I feel that the time to take off to the world is approaching.
    I think having such a great medium tempo song is the key to a rising hard / metal band. It's been a long time since Black Sabbath.
    The music videos are all like rock Venus and are wonderful. BAND-MAID is losing a lot because of cosplay.
    I don't think there are enough original songs for the band yet, but although there are few geniuses like Kanami, Hazuki can also compose (LI-SA-X BAND's "Just Be My Treasure" "Cola Bottle Again". "), I think that the number of songs will increase as we continue to live. I hope it doesn't mean that the songs are just played by two beautiful guitarists. Well that would be okay.
    I can't wait for NEMOPHILA's official live album.

    • @MaartenT

      I get where you are coming from as far as the costumes go as I do think it does hurt Band-Maid in the West somewhat and Nemophila's costumes are a bit more 'West-friendly'. But the costumes hurt the majority of Japanese bands as does them singing in Japanese (which goes for Nemophila as well). I don't really get why that is since Slipknot, Gwar and Kiss are also wearing costumes and I personally don't care about lyrics most of the time anyway, but I guess that's all personaly preference.
      I do think some people will have a tougher time watching bands in Maid-outfits compared of Nemophila's outfits even though that shouldn't really matter. I listen to a lot of black metal and the majority of these bands are wearing ridiculous outfits, the same goes for the bands I mentioned before, and I stopped caring about most of the Japanese outfits once I made that click. People should just be a bit more open minded and understand that those outfits don't make a difference to the music and that they probably already listen to bands that wear weird outfits as well. I would think that people listen to music for the music and not for how a band looks, where they come from or what they speak.
