i think that would be at the limit of my van too (50cm clearance). everyone i asked though (including my campervan company) said that it would be "fine" to cross there. i will go beginning of august, lets see. if too sketcky, i will camp on the carpark before the crossing... (i emailed the hut/campground and they say its fine as long as you let the warden know and pay for the "campground")

Yeah it may have been ok to cross in the van, but I had to return the van the following day and didn't want to push it right at the end of the trip. It was easy enough to walk to the grounds, though it did suck having to make that walk just to use the restroom. Yep let the warden know and pay for the parking spot.

From your GoogleMaps photos I can tell that before Landmannalauger you drove F208 from south (ringroad) to north. I can't find a video about that drive on your channel, so I ask here :-)
HOW was that drive on F208 in that campervan? It seems the road has several big river crossings. Did you have some sort of training to cross rivers?
Did you go to Langisjór (F235)?

Haha yep, I drove F208 from the ring road to Landmannalauger, Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri. I haven't edited and uploaded that video yet, it's a long one and there are a few other channels that have content about it already. Check out the video from Ervin Drives Around: th-cam.com/video/27CPrMEZNhQ/w-d-xo.html
Fjallabaksleið Nyrðri had the largest rivers I crossed in the van, no doubt about that. The rivers on F88 and F910 were deeper but I didn't attempt to cross them. I didn't have any training other than doing a lot of research ahead of time, I got some guidance from my Icelandic friend, and had crossed a few rivers already, for example on F338.
At the very first river crossing a Super Jeep crossed before me and gave me a few tips, told me which side of the river to cross (not the area he did). Further down the road before one of the larger crossings an experienced local in a larger van stopped after crossing and also told me the path to take, he stayed there while I crossed in case I got stuck. The final two crossings before Landmannalauger were also deeper, so the road is a bit committing.
One note is that I drove it quite late in the day and the rivers were flowing more heavily than they do early in the morning before the snow has time to melt with the increased temperatures. The earlier in the day the better.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to drive F235. I started the day in Skaftafell and drove all the way to Landmannalauger, then back to Keflavik the following morning.
