Just 4 years back these young Indian GMs had a training camp with Kramnik in Chennai... Now Gukesh is able to beat Kramnik himself... Goes to show how these young GMs have improved their games so much... Gukesh, Pragg, and Arjun are showing great promise for Indian Chess
Guki slowly outplayed Vladimir Kramnik Sir.. I can't believe our young generation is strong enough to beat Vlad like a world class player.. Guki OP..👌👌
Kramnik Sir, you will realise times have changed...it's a gang of young upbeat GMs from India that are scouring for laurels...roaming the world in search of prey
I'm sure he saw it. He probably just wanted to get Queens off the board and have a very simple game from there. I do that a lot in classical OTB games.
Mental strain will do that to you. The threat of queening of a7 pawn, the vulnerability of d5 pawn which if taken by the white queen forks the king and both the rooks-one of which is guarding the a8 square-and the pressure of facing a chess legend, and add to it the feeling of anxiety induced by the rapid time control format… I would say that Gukesh gave a good account of himself. But yes, not playing Qh5+ was a blunder. Sometimes, safety impressions may carry on for a few extra moments after move calculations. The h5 square was not safe for black until one move ago while the white bishop was guarding it from g6. That is the only rationale I can think of… I don't see any other reason why he would avoid Qh5. I don't think he had missed the forking possibility. I found it even as the pieces moved into position. It is not difficult to find. He just missed the opportunity.
THAT'S IT!!! From now on before I start the clock or press the clock just prior to the game or round starting, I will adjust the position of my pieces using a ruler or a protractor or even a laser-guided GPS device. MY PIECES will be precisely positioned in the center of a square before I move any of them. I. WILL. BE. PERFECT!!
Kramnik was much better until he got into time trouble. With 15 seconds on the clock he blundered. It's not a masterpiece by Gukesh. If it was, Gukesh could repeat this exact variation, but you can be sure that he won't.
Always notice the squares where both kings are put after game is finish. If both kings are on white, that means white won. If both kings are on black, that means black won. If both kings are on alternate colors, that means game was a draw. Note: Kings are put in middle of the board after game finishes.

It's wrong, Kramnik was not outplayed.
He got a good advantage even, but he is no longer tactically sharp to control the king side initiative

Kramnik is actually having a great tournament.

Gukesh drew the short end of the straw when he had to face Magnus in the semis. in the world chess championship.
Now he is back to form.❤🎉

Gukesh must thank Kramnik for the training!
congratulations, great match, very inspiring.
The great Kramnik has taught these guys too well!😂
Kramnik forgot he was playing for a king side attack, and started making operations on the opposite side, losing time, exposing his King for nothing.

Didn't kramnik retire from chess?
Not very convincing victory by Guki. The A pawn was looking scary. However, Vlad couldn't keep up the pressure
Explain why Vlad resigned? Because he was down 2 pawns?
2 rook is way more powerful vs a rook and bishop
