Wow, thanks for this video man, even 5 years after uploading. I bought a used A5 about a year ago as a project gun. The previous owner told me it worked fine, he didn't have a tank to test it either so I'm not sure why I didn't pick up on how fishy that was, I probably should have offered a lower price but I guess I had to travel quite far to get it and didn't want to go back home empty handed. I finally got around to working on it for my project this week, and it turns out it has a leak. I saw this video and decided to take a look at the valve assembly. It was missing that washer between the spring and o-ring, so the spring would just move around willy-nilly. I found a washer that looked similar in size to the o-ring, put it in, it seemed to fit so I got it all back together and now it works.
Thank you Tippmann, you just saved me from selling this great gun. My gun was leaking CO2 like crazy so I brought it to a pro shop and they said to sell it. I didn't want to so I looked in the gun and it looked fine. After watching this video I found out that the big o-ring that keeps the valve together had a very small rip in it, so all I had to do was replace it, thank you again Tippmann.
Great video TippmannSports! I've own my A5 w/ RT for a long time now (Serial #31105) and have yet to replace a single o-ring. It's cleaned and oiled after every weekend of play. My A5 needed to be cleaned today, I aired it up to dial-in the RT, spent a little time dry-firing--then degassed as disassembled. Once I aired the marker up again, I developed my first leak--I was a bit puzzled as all the o-rings looked great--just like Day 01 from the factory. I figured since I've own this marker for so long, maybe it was time I replaced the front/read bolt o-rings... but the air leak didn't sound like it was coming from the bolt. *I found this video and thought, let me just check the valve. I disassembled the valve assembly, lubed the o-rings there, reassembled the marker--NO LEAK! :D Very exciting (although I already placed my order with Tippmann Products for the front/rear o-rings)-Ha! Well, this old marker is still kicking with the original o-rings and looking forward to many more years. Thank you for such a great product!
Super helpful man. I know this was like 10 years ago, but do you have any idea what can keep that tombstone O-Ring from creeping up? Happens every time on me.
Thank you for the video, one thing I will note is that I have had my A5 for over 7 years and until recently never knew about that tombstone being able to be unscrewed from the air line and that there was an o-ring in there (mine had gone bad, totally cracked up and shattered). Just a note if someone still has a leak around there after checking the valve.
@Keyholder79 First remove the velocity screw. Then take something that will fit down the small end of the power tube and push the valve out of the large end.
Is there a way to fix the A5 being A air hog? I been hearing that it is. was hoping to run tac-cap with 13/3000 tank. but if I can only get 60 shots not going to work.
Mine worked after this the rubber washer between the valve assembly and the brass bushing that cradles the plunger was out of place from removing my tombstone from my gun
Hello there,I was wondering how do you so easily separate the power tube and the valve, got any tips for that?because I'm having real hard time taking the valve off the power tube.Thank you.
ok every time i shoot my tippman with co2 it leaks from the first oring of the bolt but when i shoot air it dosent i have notice thats the oring simply go out of its position could it be couse im using a macdev oring? my problem should be fix with a tippman oring?
Mine is only a day old, and when I was shooting it, the cyclone stopped working and 3 balls got loaded and jammed in my barrel, then the gun went crazy and then started leaking and drained my co2 tank.
