Hi Anthony, Many thanks. Strictly speaking one needs High Volume Low Pressure but the 'chip extractor' machines tend not to capture the fine dust very well. For smaller tools (circular saws etc) you need High Pressure Low Volume. I would be happy to use this Numatic with a planer. I use my NVD750 for just that. One has to accept that some of the chips do not get sucked up but at least there is no fine dust around. You do need a cyclone interceptor - otherwise bags will fill too quickly. Peter
The comparison is simple: The CTL36 is £621 in the UK and 5 bags cost £39.60. The Numatic NDD900 is £433 and 10 bags cost £17.40. The Numatic has 15% more suction. I already have a CTL 26 which is a great vacuum extractor and perfect for my Festool tools. I also already have the Numatic NVD 750 which is also excellent. Numatic only make vacuum machines and are famous for that all over the world. If Numatic started to make jigsaws I would be unlikely to buy one! Peter
Hello Peter, I am a carpenter and am thinking of setting myself up a small workshop. Mainly for making hardwood furniture and the like. I was wondering if this machine would be suitable for attaching to a planer thicknesser? On a separate note, I find your videos very informative and I have used a few of the techniques I have seen on them. Keep up the good work.
Just a question about your choice. Was there a reason you chose this over a large Festool Extractor? I know your penchant for the "green", so I'm curious why you chose another brand.
Hi Peter, thank you for the video, very helpful as always. I have just bought the UJK router table with dust cabinet (partly due to your video reviews). Although a lovely bit of kit, I use a normal Nilfisk Areo 26 vacuum which fails to clear all of the MDF dust, consequently the router lift mechanism clogs up and I must clean it after each use. I've seen the NVD750 but now, thanks to your video, also the NDD900. I'll keep my Nilfisk for power tools but which Numatic would you say is better for the Router table. Is having the 100mm inlet on the NVD750 going to handle all the dust better? Many thanks.
I had this for a number of years but had to sell it before moving due to space issues. It is a great machine and is, I am sure, still going strong. Peter
Hi Peter, I. Want to buy nvd750 or camvac from record power. Need to order it online, since there is no shop close to me. Somehow numatic seem to me better option, however if I compare camvac it seem to have higher airflow 390m3/h wile numtic is around 300m3/h. Waht is your experiance with nvd750? Thanks and grretings from Eindhoven, Tarik Saric
Hi Tarik, I pass through (or close to) Eindhoven every time I go to The Netherlands for my cycling "fix". I have no experience of the Record extractor but can say, without doubt, that the NVD 750 is a brilliant bit of kit. If you are using it with something that produces a lot of chippings then you need a cyclone interceptor as the drum capacity is not very large. You can see my setup in my later videos. Peter
Hello Peter. I found this video very informative and would like more details about this Numatic extractor. I wonder if you could tell me the name of the place you bought the unit from please? many thanks, Rhys
New Brit Workshop, Many thanks for the prompt reply and the link, perhaps the prices have changed since you bought your's 4 years ago. I'm afraid I'm not sure how to go about sending a Private Message. Rhys
Hi Rhys, To send a Private Message follow this link: th-cam.com/users/StoneMessage Then click on "About" followed by "Send Message". I cannot send a PM to you as you have not set up your TH-cam account to allow it. Once you send one to me I can reply and tell you about what I have in mind. Peter
New Brit Workshop Hi Peter, I'm afraid that the link is not working correctly and all I can find is the Send Feedback option via clicking on the Google+ icon. Sorry to be a pain, Rhts
+Numatic Collector Hi Adam, technically it replaced an old Dyson but it is far better than that ever was. It is out on loan to a family member at the moment but it works brilliantly. Do you have one in your collection? Peter
Thanks for replying.I use to have a few Dsyons but I sold them to make room for other vacuums.I had the wet and dry version of the vacuum being review here but my Father got rid of it because it was filthy.
Hi Peter, thanks. So I bought one, got it yesterday. No regrets at all, very nice, very nice build. Makes noise at the end of 32mm hose, probably inherent to high suction power. Will connect exhaust to reduce noise, it helps Ive alredy test it. Camvac might be as good, but numatic is more fun. Indeed uk - eindhoven is not far, and here there are much more bikes I assume :-). Greetings, Tarik www.tguitars.com
Hi Tarik, Good news from Eindhoven. Thank you for the link to your wonderful looking guitars. I have always wanted to make a guitar and may have a go one day. Cheers. Peter

Hi Peter. Any way you can review hand woodworking tools perhaps Lie-Nielsen.

If Lie Nielsen were to approach me I would consider it. Peter

The NDD 900A is the better extractor for the router table but the NVD 750 will work well. Peter
Do you still have the machine is it still going strong in the workshop?

Hi Rhys, It does not always work from a smart phone or tablet. Try a PC. Peter
What vacuum did this replace?
