  • Thanks to Auto Vogel & Partner AG in Switzerland, Cor had the opportunity to drive a 70 years old Rolls-Royce , with not even 120.000 km on the clock and only 3 owners from new.
    THis car comes from an era, that not even every Rolls_Royce was equiped with an automatic gearbox. No the gears needed to be changed manually. But ithey were perfectly synchronized. Strangely this car was RHD, although it was delivered new to Zürich in Switzerland. The gear lever was at the right though, which made it not very easy to get in and out of the car. All in all a tremendous experience to follow all the time the Spirit of Extasy.

      No, I am not aware of any relatives in England. I was born in The Netherlands and grew up partly in Germany. And live the biggest part of my life in Switzerland.

      To be honest I am a person who loves to go fast. But driving a Rolls-Royce is always very special, so speed does not matter, but it is the ambience that counts.

    She's beautiful and just run-in. Can't imagine what she would be worth. It's great that Rolls Royce went back to cars after building umpteen war winning Merlons. So enjoyed the drive following the lady.

      Thank you very much Victor. Once in a while I sing in my videos. Look at the video about the Ford Mustang from 1966, where I sing an Area from an Opera. Because of Manchester I came to this idea, to sing a few lines from the Musical Hair in this video.

    Very nice vid,lovely colour scheme.They are surprisingly agile for such an upright looking car. Put radial tyres on it and the only limitations are the brakes even with the servo.

    Too bad when the Germans purchased Rolls-Royce, they did everything possible to cheapen these cars, but the price. They also destroyed all reliability beyond belief. Ninety percent of parts are made in Germany, and most are marked up in price as much as ten times more than if you cross referenced part numbers and went to BMW, and the BMW prices are approximately ninety percent less. These cars don’t even have a spare tire. If you have a flat, it has been said RR will tell you how important you really aren’t!!! You have to wait until you can get a Rollback and take to a RR Dealer to turn on the Jack Mode on their Computer or you may destroy the leveling system. How ridiculous is that???? There are many other things nobody will know about until that part goes bad. I have owned many genuine Crewe Built RR’s, but they are nothing like this Rolling Junk!!

    • @DrivingwithGloves
      @DrivingwithGloves  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EEnnisjr that is why I prefer driving classic cars. They come from another era, where things were built by craftsmen. Nowadays it is more about marketing. I think it is a pity how the British car industry was ruined.

    Very nice but really an antique when it was made. The owner undoubtedly enjoyed the unique and nostalgic aspects. So foolish of you not to have worn the seat belt. But it's your life.

    • @DrivingwithGloves
      @DrivingwithGloves  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it drove also very antique. The seatbelts would not in the least fulfill todays safety standards, so from my perpective it would have more been a death trap than it would have increased my safety. But you have sharp eyes!
