I remember the effect the VW Bug had on American when first introduced . A simple economical device to commute in an urban area, where groceries, healthcare, and entertainment are within thirty miles is just one ,ore option. Not for everyone but appealing to many
$40,000 Australian dollars in Oz .. which is roughly $25000 US too ... MG is the cheapest .. roughly $20,000 US... better performer on the road all round ... though the seagull comes with all the electronic toys and extras ...
I definitely agree with the narrative of this video. I don't want a big EV (especially a Tesla!). I want something way less flash, way smaller & something much cheaper. The Seagull AT THE CHINESE PRICE is my perfect EV. Apparently it's coming to the UK this year but sadly this WON'T be at the Chinese price. Add 10% for import duty, 20% for VAT & an unknown but probably significant amount to ensure the little Seagull meets the safety standards required for homologation. I'm guessing it will have a list price of £16,000 & frankly it's not worth it at that price. I'd rather get the new petrol Suzuki Swift. I might however go for BYD's successor to the Seagull, especially if they fit the Blade 2, higher density battery to give it more range, add V2H charging & fit a rear wiper (pretty please!).
I really hope so, but it won't most likely. Car manufacturers have been exploiting consumers for decades, with overpriced cars and terrible part quality, aka planed obsolescence and premiumization of garbage
"New Engine Will Destroy The Entire EV Industry "How many times have we heard this over the past few years. That never happen. Also your promoting BYD whose cars regularly catch fire and explode. This is all old news.

BYD understands what the people want
In Colombia they are 25K USD so not exactly cheap.

Automakers are racing to compete? EV's are dying faster than people are buying them.
Most of the EVs in the U.S. are not affordable. The Nissan leaf sells up every year
The western automobile industry realy have to step up to be able to compeat with China. If China can do it cheaper then we shall embrase it.

Perhaps all western vehicles are overpriced 😂
