1986 i was beaten really bad by my stepfather. i packed a gym bag, and with 98 cents in my pocket, i ran away from home at the age of 16. and hitchhiked from Michigan to California to start a new life. i can still remember thumbing on the highway while singing this song to myself. this song got me through some really hard times when i was a kid.

I am 56 now. This song saved my life. For real. Back in the day, I loved the 80s but experienced significant loss. I remember this song in a gym, and I was hooked on the lyrics. Cried through my pain, and made it. Be good to yourself. You are all worth it!

While there I got for treatment for addiction. I realize not everyone has access and means for professional help. If you do take advantage of it. My boyfriend quit on his own. The doctor told me to put my mom in hospice and I did. Was giving up hope for her. The Lord put this song on my heart. Pulled her out of hospice, changed her Doctor, got her off meds. 2 years later she studied the Bible, was baptized and still hanging in there. Great inspirational lyrics and passion
A song... actually anthem for all of those who suffer, who are beaten down by life and living...the human condition we all share. This is an ageless song whose message will forever resonate with people all around the world! Thank you Corey! 👍👍🙏👏
It IS an anthem and a powerful one at That. It is a rare song that crosses Generations. I had 2 small children when this came out, and those words in that song got me through a lot. NEVER SURRENDER. The kids of today will never get to experience the pure talent and powerful songs that we did in the 70's and 80's. I don't know what that crap is that they're passing of as music now. It's all studio mix-ups. All they have to do now is dance like...no words. Shaking your butt is not dancing. Most concerts are just lip-synced. They try to distract the fact they can't sing by putting on a light and sparkle show.
I think of my wife who beat Covid my mom who has ms and had a stroke during the pandemic and My mother in law who survived breast cancer 3 most amazing women I know I love them with all my heart and will do anything for them ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
An anthem to how this Would dumps Everything on us,our Generation. I'm getting ready to let go of life myself! I've lost my job, wrecked my truck all in two weeks! I an addict . Alcohol destroyed my life! I can't recover anymore 😪
Kicked out of home at 14....got a menial job, a car, a cheap apartment( after living in abandoned cars and houses for a couple of years), persevered, and NEVER SURRENDERED!....I am now comfortably numb, and happily retired!...rock on peeps!
I grew up in the 80s. Graduated high school in 89. This song saved the life of a classmate. I feel for anyone who didn't grow up in an amazing generation.
I graduated in 1989 too. Your right. We were lucky to live in the 80s. Corey Heart was a huge I influence on how we went forward through life. Teaching is philosophy of life through lyrics. We were proper timed.
By finding hope what exactly do you mean? To me, this song is about getting off your bike and stop feeling sorry about yourself and not being. snowflake who blames everyone for their problems.
If you were one who got to live through this era of the 80s you know it wasn’t just an era, it was an experience and no other era can compare to the 80s 💕
Corey has it all: Great voice, good looks and he is a real nice guy, also. I met him back in the'80's. Corey has always been very underrated in my opinion.
@_OBK_ YOU are WHACKED. Corey is a phenomenal man and talent. He was never over the top or gimmicky. He did not need to be. Corey has the vocal chops. I am finished with your dumb ass. Bye Felicia!
My entire family died. Left me with no money. No car. No job. Husband left 2 days after dad was buried. I'm still here. Prayer. And encouragement to anyone. Don't ever give up. Thelight will come. Out one day it does get better. DONT EVER GIVE UP. NEVER SURRENDER ❤
This song reminds me of a friend who lost his battle against cancer twenty years ago. Knowing he couldn’t win, he never gave up , he never surrendered, he just said he was going home,. Bravest man I ever knew.
I left my ex wife nearly 10 yrs ago and this song played on the radio as I was driving away from our apartment building after we said our goodbyes and good lucks.I was short on money not knowing what my future was holding for me.This song helped me out through a tough time to get back on my feet 😢.
Kristina Wentz Class of 86 here, 80s where good to me, had the time of my life. Had a great time back then. 80s is a better generation then todays crap, everything was better back then, music, televison etc. Todays music is garbage, today its this rap crap, or pop bull shit. Today its about, money, looks, and fame with no talent.
I have been without a job since Dec 18. Had to take personal time off due to personal issues. I submitted almost 200 applications and no luck. I turn to this song everyday. I will never surrender.
I love reading the comments and see how the songs of this era tried to pick you up and teach perspective. No wonder we all reached for the stars and didn't let little stuff get us down.
Was an incredible time with big hair, MTV, no cellphones, football on Fridays, going to the lake and partying on weekends. I graduated in ‘89 so I was a kid in the early 80’s and remember watching MTV and wanting to be a rockstar. Back to the Future and the Star Wars saga was huge and kids danced to Michael Jackson’s Thriller. Was no better time!
Gosh....early on would want to visit stores that don’t exist anymore like OTASCO in Oklahoma. Ride my old 3 wheeler ATV, wear my old parachute pants and not look stupid cause everybody had them lol. Until Def Leppard came out then it was the jeans with rips and holes in them. Soooo much to do with just one day!
I can agree with you there, the 80’s aren’t long ago at all. People just look at like “oh god we have a 20 at the start of every year, the 80’s must be soooo long ago”
Never surrender to this wicked sick and fallen world. Hold your heads up high and remember you are not a lone. Never surrender . peace be with you all.
My dad was abusive.. this song got me through time on the streets downtown Toronto in the late 80s early 90s. W my Sony walkman. and that was just the beginning.. now my life is great and I STILL HAVENT SURRENDERED! Thx Corey 👍
The lyrics to this song is extremely powerful. For those of us who were teenagers during the 80’s know the hardships we experienced and what this song meant to us. I firmly believe that people who considered giving up on life during that time reconsidered because of this song. Am I wrong ?
This is my "go-to" song. I recently got out of a very bad relationship and this song was one of the few things that kept me going. I've loved it since it's release.
MaxFit 68...totally agree! I was already cutting,my mind started trying to convince me that if I just cut myself deeper it would end all my pain. Life was always very difficult for me despite the heartache I tend to find myself right back here listening to 80s songs! I never went to a therapist but one day I realized I was hating so many ppl just because somehow I saw their behavior as the same as my family and I realized I was waiting for an apology that I will never receive. Now that I have released that I am so much happier and now enjoy discovering all the new things that come with each new day
This song is so underrated. Its one of the greatest songs ever written. The best advice in life is to never give up. Always keep fighting. Never surrender.
well Richard, it´s underrated because people does not know about this music, and second like other kind of stuff, we, that LIVED this music knows, that it was of the best decade of music of all kind but well made, with lyrics, Rhytm, and so much talent, but if you return here from about 9 months you write this, now you can see that new series need Quality, and people know so Series and movies are good but with 80´s music look so much bette. i´m proud of my 20´s decade, Greeting! Ricardo.
I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer a year ago and.had to hang onto my faith and this meaningful song and happy to share I made it. Thankyou for this beautiful and meaningful song blessings got me through some tough days when I did want to give up.
The summer of 1985 was the greatest of my teen years. Corey Hart's music was playing on the radio. I found myself dating a girl named Rhonda who was a year older than me. She was always turning guys down left and right, some were even over 20. I was 15 and she was 16, the whole town was talking about this young kid who stole the heart of the hottest girl. We parted ways but we'll always have the summer of 1985.
Yes the summer of 1985 was a bittersweet one for me too, I too was 15. It had some of the best music ever including :"voices carry", "invincible", "view to a kill", "1 nite in bangkok" and SOOOO many others. It was bittersweet however because in that summer, my father decided he wanted to move closer to his work and didnt seem to care much about his 7 kids and all the friendships they would lose and having to continue high school in a totally new city and knowing absolutely nobody.
It was amazing I know how the outfielders rules the 80s with your love and then July 13th David Bowie Elton John and most importantly queen broke concert records forever
Got ya! I miss those times. Summer nights, holding hands on rooftops, watching the stars, cherry lipstick kisses... damn, I guess it'll never be that romantic again!
I was a young man in the '80's and it was a wonderful decade. For me the world was new, everyday an adventure and music and film were in a golden era. All I had to do was turn on the radio and the AM band was crowded with stations playing what ever music I wanted to hear. Movie theaters had excellent films. Christmas 1986 I saw Platoon, Little Shop of Horrors, and Star Trek IV on the same day. I listened to this tune on the way home that night. *****
The eighties was full of what was called one hit wonders. I think it was truly the greatest decade in music. This was ans is a great song. The feeling it brings back while listening. Thank you so much
Do Not like THAT TERM: "ONE HIT WONDERS" Prefer the Term RARE GEMS... Artists are not just about their Bigger or Most Popular Songs, as they're often addressing sensitive issues and each message will be appreciated differently by their respective audience. COREY HART has had several Top Big Hits, like "Sunglasses At Night", which topped BILLBOARD for Months... Check Out his "BEST OF" Compilations as they'll feature Several Songs that you'll likely Remember and Value. Thank You for considering my Suggestions, and hope that you Keep Enjoying Music, Concerts and Listening. And Thank You taking the Time to Share your Thoughts, too.... Appreciated
@@chrissiebawn9357 Yep, Sunglasses at Night was another big hit. And there were some other lesser ones that maybe didn't make a big splash in the US but were known in Canada.
Who's here because you were an 80s kid who loved rock and pop music? with the Walkman Player, Magnavox Cassette Player, FM Radio, MTV, VH-1 & Casey Casem! 😊✨🎶 🎧💖
@@justincopple8222 - I was born in the 70s too... I was a 70s baby, but then I grew up to be a music loving kid in the 80s! Yes! The best decade in pop and rock music... Who can forget jump from van halen, bad and thriller from MJ, the cars, huey lewis and the news, journey, gloria Estefan, and many more good musicians...
@@GJSTK50 The music back then was so great nothing like the crappy music of today. Music was more meaningful back in the day. And to name a few other songs like everybody's working for the weekend by Lover Boy or White Wedding by Billy Idol. And let's not forget my favorite rock band Guns N Roses.
This song has helped me through countless depressive and suicidal episodes through the decades. I have a great respect for Corey Hart and this song for the courage and defiance to "Never Surrender" no matter the trials that come our way. I have shared this song lovingly with my daughter who now shares similar burdens. This is a generational song to help the millions it touches.
Similar situation with my daughter & myself. Music has brought us close in a way that talking cant. I have taken her to many concerts, good ones, and she is blown away by the magic that happens there. She & I share in a lifelong memory of seeing Linkin Park play in 2015.
18 years in the service...and confined within this walls waiting for judgment...yet I cried the tears I never imagined to happen In my life....listening to this music give me some spirits...to those following this I ask for your prayers,.tnx a lot...
80’s songs and videos were the best of any decade!!! The songs were positive and uplifting, and the videos were fun and hilarious! I wish everyone had experienced the 80’s and it’s gifts. We’ve seem to have lost our way. There is too much hate, violence, war, and untrustworthy world leaders. Love and 80’s music is the answer to world peace, tolerance, and unity. Stay positive and Never Surrender!
God I wish I could go back to the 80's... No Internet.. No Cell Phones.. You had to actually TALK to people. I guess I just miss my youth. 17 yrs old. Serving in the Army in Berlin (before the wall came down). Good times
Every Time I hear this song I Cry, because my life I always fighting, start one project, closed the project, star another one and failure, failure every time, but I still here ready for the next fight and I will never surrender!! I am 44 right now I was sucessfull in an while in the past!! but like dominoes start falling down, but I will stand up again!!
Dude... the only time you fail is when you give up. Failure is a normal part of living. When you finally get it right you will get so much satisfaction. Who EVER got it right on the first time? My son, on the first time he ever rode a bike did wonderfully, right up to the time he hit the wall. That wasn't failure. That was an obstacle that was put in his way to make him improve. Get it?
Corey's early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when "First Offense" came out in '83, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Hall & Oates, but I think Corey has a far more sly, earnest sense of humor. In '85, Corey released "Boy in the Box", his most accomplished album. I think his undisputed masterpiece is "Never Surrender". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the ethics of never quitting on yourself or your dreams no matter how challenging or daunting, it's also a personal statement about the man itself.
This takes me back to 18, fighting with my dad, broke and uncertain about the future, but one of us had to go, and it wasn't going to be him. Some hard years after that, but I made it through because I didn't surrender.
Music is what made that decade great despite terrible hardships and losses any person including myself could have gone through at that time. Music so uplifting even in the saddest tunes.
the stores and toys make the 80s sound more fun than it looked, I got to experience the 90s from a child's point of view, I got to witness the Disney Renaissance, I got to see Nick at it's best, hell even PBS had a renaissance with their children's programming.
and because of how ST1,2,3 are the BEST! homage to the 80s to have come out thus far (that wasnt by John Hughes - those werent homages they WERE the 80s.) . I must say FSCK the Goldbergs "it was nineteen eighty something bla bla bla" that show is NOT the 80s I lived, Stranger Things IS the 80s I lived. 10000%!
I was a homeless, single mother of a 5-month old infant in 1985. We were abandoned by my family and the baby's father. I spent many nights in the city of Chicago wondering where I could park my car so I wouldn't get either arrested or assaulted. I do not remember this song, and have never seen this video until now. I sure lived it.
@@INFJ2 you know Corey Hart with a big part of my teenage years and I fell in love with someone 7 years ago and I really found out what true love was and we were homeless we used to listen to this stuff every night and to be honest with you I lost that love of my life 4 months ago and to a tragic death fentanyl overdose and I've been so angry and so mad at him because we've been trying to get our lives together and it seemed like I was trying to do it all alone and I found out that I'm recently pregnant at the age of 48 also I have a lot on my plate with the thoughts racing through my head that my beautiful Daniel will never see their child and it's crazy how life is life and I'm really trying to move on I recently got me a place but it's rough really rough and all I have is God and the 80s
Tactical Hyena lame labels..they only call you "weird"..coz they don't get it.. and they need to listen to the lryics of the great 80's hits..such a passionate brighter time..the 80's music hits were endless..
This song is my fighting cancer song. When I'm down, I play it. It gets me through. Awesome song. Update: April 24th 2020 . losing ground. Battle continues. Skin cancer now. My body starting to look like Edward Scissorhands! Never Surrender! 2022! Still fighting! Remission! Not winning. Not losing. Holding my own. It is possible people! Never surrender! 9/2023 Cancer free!
Ignore the trolls. only those that grew up in the 80's understand the 80's. None of this racism shit. no mulsims to worry about ruining our lives. So much simpler times. I would give anything for the world to go back to those times.
September 1985 I packed all my belongings in my Ford Escort and headed for the city. Worked hard and never surrendered! Have a beautiful house and family. Never give up! Keep rocking Corey!
I just had woken up to this song in recovery after getting my thyroid full of cancer and lympnodes with cancer removed. This song means a lot to me. ❤ I would play this over and over after finding out my cancer diagnosis, and hearing it when I woke up from surgery was awesome ❤
This is his best song IMO and he has a lot of really great songs. Back in the day I was mostly into hard rock and metal but I liked this song the first time I heard it. Corey is a fantastic singer/songwriter and a competent pianist.
I left home when i was 16, not knowing where life would take me but it was my choice and i wouldnt back down. This song helped carry me thru life and even when things seemed hopeless, I never quit, never gave up. My life some 40 years later may not be perfect but it is what it is and i made it what it needed to be. This song gave me the courage to accept what i could accomplish and yet strive for more, its called living.
I remember the first time I watched this video back in the 80s. I was sitting in front of our floor model television on a Saturday night, watching Night Tracks. I instantly fell in love with this song and Corey Hart. I would love to go back to those days!
The first video I turned to after being told I have Cancer last Wednesday. Damn Straight...I will never Surrender. Ty Corey for my theme song! Loved it then and holding it now :)
I sing this play this before my skin cancer surgeries too! I hope he knows how much his music inspires us to keep going! Thank you Cory You really DO have Hart :)
I have a time capsule in my memories, opening it tonight , looking at my life and a huge wave of happy times flood back how much innocence we had then. and amazing music :) I'm a proud 70/80's Child I'll Never Surrender!!!!
Agreed, Kocky. Speaking of great girl bands....there was a kick-ass girl band form South Florida in the 80's. Search for Godiva on here. They have several videos that were shot at the Candy Store in FLL. I was fortunate to see them several times. They put on a hell of a show. God, I want to go back.
Raquel Tyler "When I was in my early 20s, I met this girl who was about to graduate from HS. Just by a look at a movie theater Times Square nyc. We fell for each other hard, and the rest is history. August 27 2017 will be our 30 wedding anniversary. Three boys later, here I am. This song was the very first song to become "our" song. Thanks Corey, for putting us on the right path and showing me what love is.
It's amazing how I'm a teenage kid who loves the oldies!! This particular song makes me want to cry every time I hear it. It makes me think about everything I have been through and what I go through in my every day life. Sometimes I wanna just give up. But with God in my life and positive music like this, I can never surrender. Just gotta keep on truckin 'til I make it. I've learned that what I go through is helping me to be a stronger man/person that I am today and God is working through me to give it back unto his people. 😢🙏🏾
I was young, but me and my Dad where at odds, and he kicked me out of the house in the middle of winter. ... that was so hard, but I NEVER Surrendered ... ! I froze my ass off. I'll never forgive him for that, but I still love him! This song / video reflexes kinda what I went through. Bring tears to my eyes. Those were bad times.
TheBloomer0069 Boy can I ever relate! My mom intentionally locked me out of our house on my 18th birthday. I told a family friend, and she didn't believe me because she didn't think a parent would be so cruel. Boy, she had no idea...
This song got through a bad case of COVID-19 and I was in the hospital for 2 weeks two years ago i had a collapsed lung and I kept playing this song on my phone while I was in the hospital. Very inspirational song to get you through anything. Never surrender indeed. Thank you Cory Hart for this awesome song.
Just a little more time Is all we're asking for 'Cause just a little more time Could open closing doors Just a little uncertainty Can bring you down And nobody wants to know you now And nobody wants to show you how So if you're lost and on your own You can never surrender And if your path won't lead you home You can never surrender And when the night is cold and dark You can see, you can see light Cause no one can take away your right To fight and to never surrender With a little perseverance You can get things done Without the blind adherence That has conquered some And nobody wants to know you now And nobody wants to show you how So if you're lost and on your own You can never surrender And if your path won't lead you home You can never surrender And when the night is cold and dark You can see, you can see light 'Cause no one can take away your right To fight and to never surrender To never surrender And when the night is cold and dark You can see, you can see light No one can take away your right To fight and to never surrender To never surrender Oh, time is all we're asking for To never surrender Oh, oh, you can never surrender Time is all you're asking for Stand your ground, never surrender Oh, oh, oh, oh, I said You never surrender, oh

One of the best songs for individuals that need to find hope in times of despair. Great words, great classic
No better time than now
Yes, Definitely !!!! Well Said !!!!
Nico geschire never surrender Corey heart
By finding hope what exactly do you mean? To me, this song is about getting off your bike and stop feeling sorry about yourself and not being. snowflake who blames everyone for their problems.
I know right!!
If you were one who got to live through this era of the 80s you know it wasn’t just an era, it was an experience and no other era can compare to the 80s 💕
great
Damned right!!! Proud MTV Baby Here!! 💘 🎶 🎸 🎷 👨 🎹 🎼 🌈👊
You couldn't be more right.
It truly felt magical. I knew at the time that we were living in a special era. ❤
Wish i was born in the 80s..
Who's here wishing they could go back to the 80's, destroy the time machine and stay there forever!
Me!!!
As long as I can take all the winning numbers of every lottery game played so I can win every time till now.
Other than my kids, hell yea!!!!
It was the best of times.
My son was born in the 80's. So yeah I'd love to go back, see my grandparents and old friends now departed. Stay forever young.
Notice how the songs of the 80s were about grit, determination, hope, dreams, heartbreak, and gains...life. We lost that vibrancy today.
Yep, all done by design...sick isn't it?
That is all done to make us live in fear.
Thanks 🙏🏼 for the comment
Most of the rap music was about drugs, sex, violence and hatred and it went global destroying world cultures. It did what it meant to do.
@@DNSMLT exactly you are right you just made it clear
Corey has it all: Great voice, good looks and he is a real nice guy, also. I met him back in the'80's. Corey has always been very underrated in my opinion.
Exactly, Agree.
Canadians are clever, considerate people. I usually know them for their lovely personalities!
@_OBK_ He is a great singer and very talented man. He never got the credit in the U.S. that he deserved. Now you can F Off!
@_OBK_ YOU are WHACKED. Corey is a phenomenal man and talent. He was never over the top or gimmicky. He did not need to be. Corey has the vocal chops. I am finished with your dumb ass. Bye Felicia!
So true
Born in the 70s, grew up in 80s. Grateful to have grown up listening to such classic and timeless songs. Still bringing back memories every time!!!!

I’m sorry about that
Thanks
Michael Rosenfeld do you usually go on this song a lot
No, just happened to pop up
So sorry. That sucks. This song reminds me of my mom fighting for her life. Unfortunately August 30th marks two years that she's gone. ❤
I was an 80's kid, and it was an awesome decade. Now I'm 43, but I still love to listen to 80's music.
I left my ex wife nearly 10 yrs ago and this song played on the radio as I was driving away from our apartment building after we said our goodbyes and good lucks.I was short on money not knowing what my future was holding for me.This song helped me out through a tough time to get back on my feet 😢.
God bless you Brother.
Stay strong and always keep your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ 😇

You suck
what a tough story to share. gladly you survived. thsnks for opening your heat with all of us here
A lot of songs are powerfull, this is one of them. This particular song mekes me remember a special girl. I ask my self, where is she now.
My teenage years weren't the greatest. But one great thing about being a teenager in the 80's was the music.
Another great thing in the 80's were parachute pants !
Kristina Wentz Yes 80's music is top notch. Gave me the best memories too.
Yes I agree i hate my generation songs :(
Kristina Wentz The teenage years are supposed to be fun, positive, and exciting.
Read Matthew 6:33 my friend.
I got your back. This song is my life story. Thank you
And remember everything gets better
I pray you are doing well. I also pray you are in a position you love.
👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻😉🤗
No other decade has had the staying power of the 80's..They never went away.
I love reading the comments and see how the songs of this era tried to pick you up and teach perspective. No wonder we all reached for the stars and didn't let little stuff get us down.
I was working in a factory when this song came out in a job I hatred but never gave up hope for something more.
That’s what the 80s taught us. This song was an anthem too.
The 80’s weren’t THAT long ago but it was a totally different world. Miss those days.
Eddie Money-I wanna go back
I can agree with you there, the 80’s aren’t long ago at all. People just look at like “oh god we have a 20 at the start of every year, the 80’s must be soooo long ago”
It hasn't been so long yet we've changed by so much.
I feel more sad every year when we get further away from the 80s.
Never surrender to this wicked sick and fallen world. Hold your heads up high and remember you are not a lone. Never surrender . peace be with you all.
I miss the 80s so much ❤️
If I had a time machine I would travel back and live the 80s from the start
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
Same 😖😔
Me 2
My time machine is done just waiting for a lightning bolt to strike it so i can get the gigwatts i need
You are definitely right!! I was one of those teenagers I love the video it days SO MUCH
@Sponge Bob nobody knows I think it depends on how low the person is it could be any song
Yes, I have so much respect for that age group.
Agree
well Richard, it´s underrated because people does not know about this music, and second like other kind of stuff, we, that LIVED this music knows, that it was of the best decade of music of all kind but well made, with lyrics, Rhytm, and so much talent, but if you return here from about 9 months you write this, now you can see that new series need Quality, and people know so Series and movies are good but with 80´s music look so much bette. i´m proud of my 20´s decade, Greeting! Ricardo.
That's absolutely TRUE
I always listen to this song when I study
I love how clean cut Cory Hart is. He had an amazing musical career, one that his children can look back at and be proud of their dad❤️
Loved his work and his music. He certainly can be proud.
Did ya smash
Isnt it creepy that 20 over yo guys are trying to hook up with a 16 yo teen.
One of the most underrated songs of the 1980s!
French Fan you better believe it..... literally
I couldn't agree more! This song never truly got the accolades it deserved!
SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO TRUE, iM 48, FIRST HEARD this in 1985
This wasn't underrated, dude.. it was actually a great hot in the 1080's...
This song was a hit in the 80’s. When I was a kid, I always heard them playing this on the radio! Amazing song 💯🎼🎵
This song has probably saved a lot of lives
It help save mine.
It’s saved mine more times than I can count.
Its saved mine cause I was ready to give up and then I remembered this song and someone played it for me and it taught me to never give up
You better believe it
Never give up
Never quit
Never surrender
WHAT??

I completely agree! that sax solo is phenomenal!

If I built a time machine would anybody want to go with me back to the 1980's and stay there forever?
All the greats man! AC/DC. Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Kiss, ZZ Top, what a time to be alive!
definitely..80's the greatest era of good music and great artists
I was a young man in the '80's and it was a wonderful decade. For me the world was new, everyday an adventure and music and film were in a golden era. All I had to do was turn on the radio and the AM band was crowded with stations playing what ever music I wanted to hear. Movie theaters had excellent films. Christmas 1986 I saw Platoon, Little Shop of Horrors, and Star Trek IV on the same day. I listened to this tune on the way home that night. *****
Yeah... Would be so cool! My parents didn't think it was so special but I think they just weren't into all the stuff I'm into!
RPM And then the internet came and ruined everything.
Here cause the 80’s was AWESOME!!! ❤️🎈☀️

You should check out the new version of Never Surrender by Cory Hart himself. Definitely worth listening to.

Good times

Good luck for the rest buddy!!
You're not alone!! Never give up!!!🙏🙌💪
I hear ya Pedro and you are not alone. Keep grinding!!!
Dude... the only time you fail is when you give up. Get it?
Don't cry be strong, we are here with you, hugs.
It's a shame most people will only remember this dude for sunglasses at night. I've been playing this song daily the last few weeks. Underrated song
Yeah. I play it when I feel like giving up. Attending online college rn and its sometimes stressful, so this song does help
@@Blue-jn1ph you got this bro 💪
I have always liked this song better than Sunglasses at night.
One of his songs was used in a episode of Miami Vice at a funeral. Cannot remember the name but also a great song .
So many 80s songs had kick ass saxophone in them
Jefg Lemonds You can say that again! I played sax in the 80's and 90's partly because of the sax in songs like this and partly because of Kenny G.
They certainly did
true this solo was epic then and epic now
I love saxophone 🎷❤️🥰

Music so uplifting even in the saddest tunes.
I remember sitting on my bed with my swatch watch and jelly bracelets and splattered paint outfit listening to this song!! Haha
the stores and toys make the 80s sound more fun than it looked, I got to experience the 90s from a child's point of view, I got to witness the Disney Renaissance, I got to see Nick at it's best, hell even PBS had a renaissance with their children's programming.
and because of how ST1,2,3 are the BEST! homage to the 80s to have come out thus far (that wasnt by John Hughes - those werent homages they WERE the 80s.) .

I was fortunate to see them several times. They put on a hell of a show. God, I want to go back.
That sax was so awesome
This song takes me on a trip down memory lane
If you're still listening to this great tune in 2020 , you're a true legend.👍✌️

Raquel Tyler "When I was in my early 20s, I met this girl who was about to graduate from HS. Just by a look at a movie theater Times Square nyc. I offered to take her home in the unsafe subway system to Brooklyn. I got her home, met her mother and brothers...and she asked if I would see her again. I said yes. We fell for each other hard, and the rest is history. August 27 2017 will be our 30 wedding anniversary. Three boys later, here I am. This song was the very first song to become "our" song. Thanks Corey, for putting us on the right path and showing me what love is.
Raquel Tyler the 80s is one decade I wish never ended

It's amazing how I'm a teenage kid who loves the oldies!! This particular song makes me want to cry every time I hear it. It makes me think about everything I have been through and what I go through in my every day life. Sometimes I wanna just give up. But with God in my life and positive music like this, I can never surrender. Just gotta keep on truckin 'til I make it. I've learned that what I go through is helping me to be a stronger man/person that I am today and God is working through me to give it back unto his people. 😢🙏🏾
Whats givin u a hard time brother?

The 80s Sax solo! Always so soulful!
This song got me through a lot of hard times in my youth. Corey Hart's beautiful voice carries the message so well.
Corey Hart said it best, Stand your ground and Never Surrender!
Corey wrote a song to his dad years later, after he had his first 2 kids, title "Reconcile". You might like it.
Who else is going through all their classic jams thinking about how life was back in the days? Please tell me I'm not the only one✌🏼️
I swear 2020 has got to be the suckiest year that I have lived through! :(
@@lisabaker8016 For many of us. Hoping next year is better.
Too many good memories
you are not the only one. Covid 19 gave me the opportunity again to revisit and replay the music of my youth.
Thanks 🙏🏼 for the comment
This song got through a bad case of COVID-19 and I was in the hospital for 2 weeks two years ago i had a collapsed lung and I kept playing this song on my phone while I was in the hospital. Very inspirational song to get you through anything. Never surrender indeed. Thank you Cory Hart for this awesome song.
Just a little more time
Is all we're asking for
'Cause just a little more time
Could open closing doors
Just a little uncertainty
Can bring you down
And nobody wants to know you now
And nobody wants to show you how
So if you're lost and on your own
You can never surrender
And if your path won't lead you home
You can never surrender
And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
Cause no one can take away your right
To fight and to never surrender
With a little perseverance
You can get things done
Without the blind adherence
That has conquered some
And nobody wants to know you now
And nobody wants to show you how
So if you're lost and on your own
You can never surrender
And if your path won't lead you home
You can never surrender
And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
'Cause no one can take away your right
To fight and to never surrender
To never surrender
And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
No one can take away your right
To fight and to never surrender
To never surrender
Oh, time is all we're asking for
To never surrender
Oh, oh, you can never surrender
Time is all you're asking for
Stand your ground, never surrender
Oh, oh, oh, oh, I said
You never surrender, oh
