How do you not accidentally squish your charms when sticking on/blending pieces on? Or when adding texture to all sides, how do you not squish the texture out of one side when working on the other side?

Do you glaze in layers-like glaze one area, then wait for it to dry and glaze another that way you can hold the charm easier- or so you glaze the entire thing at one time?
If I may ask, how many charms can you get from one block of clay? Like for example the little dinos, how many little bases without the details can one bar of clay make?

I can't do this many at once with air dry clay.. They dry and turning hard so fast. u.u
